Does anybody know the cost to fix a loose stitch? I am referring to the stitch that holds together the inner and outer flap. Thanks!!

Just had to sent a flap in for exactly that, $110 is the cost they quoted me, but I won't know for sure until the bag's back and they actually charge me.

If your bag's purchased within the past 1 year, then it's free.

If you do send it in, please make sure the area of repairs is WELL INDICATED - I used neon green post-it stickers pointing at the area in question, PLUS 2, 3 pieces of paper cards inserted into different pockets to explain in words what I was asking to be accomplished with my contact information on them. They get alot of bags in for repairs at the spa center and last thing you want is to wait 3 months just to get your bag back without the complete repair you're looking for.

Thanks chriseve! I just got my bag back after 4 weeks and the cost was $60 to repair both corners.

I was dissappointed that they couldn't match the thread color to the original. It's a brighter shade of the same color but, I'll live with it b/c I don't want to go through the wait again plus they waived the fee when I pointed out the inconsistency.

This is a much older flap from the 90s so I understand that the thread used might be obsolete now BUT, I did read somewhere that the workshop in Paris archives all materials so I'm really surprised that they didn't send this to Paris when the thread wasn't available in the US repair shop.

Also, it came back with scratches on the edges and corners so that's another reason why I didn't want to send it off again.

Chanel's lack of standards is really starting to show. It's downright sloppy.

Sorry to hear that they didn't do a good job:-(

I just got mine back, charged $110 for one gusset's stitching repairs, they did a great job though I'm not so sure if it's $110 worth, haha. It took about 4-5 weeks and not the 12-16 weeks I was quoted. Oh well, I suppose I should just be happy that it came back safe and sound.

I'd like to share my experience in Houston Chanel Boutique. I have a navy patent reissue that I bought from Hollywhirl. I found out the stitches were loose at the inner flap from the outer flap. It was not in Hollywhirl's description. I decided to bring the bag for a repair. I asked to have a quote. They got my cell no. & said they'll give me a call because they have to send it out. The day was 11/20. They told me I should expect 8-12 weeks and around $60. About 10 days later, I called again because no one called me. I was told they sent it out already & not sure if they started repair or not. I was under the impression I would get a quote before repair. Then, on 12/13, someone called me & said the bag is ready for pick up. It was a voice mail & I was not told about the repair cost. When I picked up the bag today, the manager said the cost is $0. I said "What? 0?" He said yes. The repair was nicely done. I am extremely happy. I also asked the manager for a dust bag because I don't have one. He said he'll look for it & found me one! Needlessly to say, I am very satisfied with my experience with Chanel repair in Houston Boutique!

I took a bag in at SCP at the end of October and they called me last week to tell me that it just came in. I was expecting it to take 3-4 months because that is what I have read on the site so many times so I was surprised when they called. Seeing your posts, I think that lately they have been repairing bags quicker than before. I am going in on Wednesday to pick it up. I sent it in for full refurbishment so I hope it looks good!

That's great that they didn't charge you! I wonder why? And its awesome that they were able to give you a dustbag.

well pls let me share my experience about the repair of my Jumbo flap. My turn lock peel badly ( GHW ), the bag was around 14mths old and i only use it less than 5 times. Anyhow i took the bag into our sydney store and wanting the lock to be repair. The SA asked when and where the bag was purchased which it was over Saks 5th about 14 mths ago. She did not even asked to see the purchased receipt, also said that she will send the bag away and will let me know about the repair cost... weeks gone by did not get a phone call or nothing then one day the store call me and said the bag is ready to be pick up. Ok no worries, so i went and pick up my bag FREE OF CHARGE i cannot believed it, FREE OF CHARGE... OMG i was soooo happy.... great service

I just had a crystal replaced on a brooch. They quoted JPY1500 but when it came back it was only 1050 (aboutUS$1400), so I was happy with that. If you have jewelery with a stone missing, just get it replaced and enjoy it again!

Wait. Am I reading correctly that it was $1,400 USD? Or did you mean $140? $1,400 Seems like an awful lot to replace a crystal! Or perhaps it was a diamond (then I could understand!). I have a piece I was thinking of repairing, but for $1,400 I'd rather throw it out and buy a new one!

No, it would be about $14- not bad at all!

LOL sorry for giving people a shock! I was having decimal point and exchange rate challenges! Bulletproofsoul was correct - about $14. Some people have mentioned having to pay up to $25 for a stone, so I was surprised, but pleased that it was so cheap!

I just got a maxi flap (I would say pre-owned b/c I didn't actually buy it from a store, but rather from someone, but it is brand new with tags still), and was wondering if I take it to the store, would they polish the leather for me?? Well, I don't know..is that a ridiculous request and will the SA just laugh at me?..lol. I usually care for my own purses (and I have a lambskin that I use that Apple Brand leather stuff on, and it's been fine).
