i've always paid for all my H things (& everything else) with amex. i'm sure IF i one day am lucky to buy a croc birkin at the store, it'll most likely be on amex as well. certain H stores have my info already so when i need something, they automatically just charge it to my account.

Black Amex Charge card, gotta pay the balance in full at the end of the month anyway, so might as well get some points for it.

There are 2 types of Amex cards. Amex Charge cards and Amex Credit Cards. Guess that's the same in every country, no?

I am with Amex PPS Plat (a charge card). So that gives me the Singapore Airlines miles. :wlae:

in s'pore, one's credit limit is 2x of your monthly salary (per bank) - i always wondered if there was A DAY tt i was going to purchase a croc H birkin (still dreaming of tt day), how many cards do i have to swipe at the cashier & how wld the SA view me as a customer (not exactly a very glamorous situation), LOL

Yes, that's true. But for high networth customers, it's based on their annual income that that computes this credit limit. Not based on actual monthly salary. And so, for previous bank customers, $xxx, xxx is the norm for credit card limits.

Haven't had the pleasure of buying a scaly bag quite yet :graucho: but we do serious damage at jewelry stores, and we usually split between a few cards for mileage, etc. Heck, we charge so much on his Southwest Airlines card that our family can fly free anywhere Southwest flies for the $5 airport fee. And I know this sounds even more shocking ... I actuallly LIKE flying Southwest (now that I'm used to it). ...OK, I get a little *****y when flights are absolutely full.:shrugs::nogood: He is probably wise to keep me out of the first class cabin airlines because he knows I would never fly anything else once I got a taste of THAT! (...which has happened to me with handbags - I'm ready to liquidate all non-H things.)

But I think I'll mention the credit line at Hermes idea and see what his face does!

....I have different way to pay...
- CREDIT CARD
- MONEY TRANSFER BANK TO BANK
- and for my special HERMES SHOP ( one in the 3 that I generally use...)
I have a credit limit ...of euro 1 xxxxxxxxxx.....that I PAY at the beginning of the year and I use when I NEED....toping up if is necessary time to time...

So is this a pre-paid credit for store? I think its a brilliant idea especially if you know what your going to buy for the year it makes everything so simple!!! I knew I could learn so much here...:shame:

I always weigh the option, more Hermes, or first class flights. In my opinion it does not matter how you fly, just that you get there safe and sound!
