Hi ladies!

My SA just called me this afternoon and told me an croc birkin is available on hold for me. I am going to pick it up tomorrow, so excited. So now, I am wondering how am I gonna make the payment? by credit card? yet, my cards only have 15000 usd limits, and definetly not enough for a exotic bag. So, can I use multiple cards to make the payment?

thanks in advance!

Congratulation on your bag! Please be sure to post pictures. :)

One other thought, pay with Amex if you have one, it usually does not have any credit limits.

I always pay for my bags using bank transfer. If paying by card I would have the funds and not pay by credit, which would make it possible to pay a larger amount.

If I understand you correctly you would use multiple cards and use credit to pay?

Actually, this is not true. Amex actually does have a credit limit. If you know you are going to be making a large charge on the card, you can call them prior and ask if the amount will be acceptable given your credit history and limit and they will let you know.

I pay this way too. Easy.

use your amex if you have one...

bear in mind two things - rewards points and purchase protection

enjoy your new croc and do share when you get it!

so excited for you!!! :yahoo:

How does this work? Do you make the transfer over the phone while you're in the store? Is the transfer instantaneous, or does it take a few days to complete?

Yes, this is so very true. However, you do not need to call them. You can check it on-line as well. Sometimes, and especially re. large amounts of money, they do need to know in advance, so that the transaction goes through. Otherwise you will have to call and confirm.

I agree, I'd rather pay with Amex for the protection, and also for the crazy amount of points you can turn into Neiman Marcus gift cards :smile1: Then just pay the card off from the account you would have done a wire transfer from. I find that easiest! Certain Amex cards, based on your history won't impose limits.

For me..I call my bank which has H's account info and it is an instant transfer, as I have it preauthorized. Kind of like paypal but only for H. I have heard that it is very fast...I think AMEX or CC is the best way to go, reward points, protection and all of the other bonus. Call me old fashioned but I like the bank way myself.:flowers:I think it depends on how your transfer is set up as to how fast it is...if you have to go to the bank and fill out the transfer form, then I think it would take a day...not 100% sure. IHTH!!:flowers:

The transfer takes a few days and I do it via my bank. If Hermès has the same bank as I do the transfer is pretty immediate. If not, it will take 2-3 days.

A bag comes in and my SA calls me (I do alot of buying via the phone since I´m not close to a boutique). I want it, they reserve it for me and I make the transfer. After all is cleared they ship the bag to me, unless I´m able to go there in person. I guess the key here is "reserve". If they are not willing to reserve the bag you cannot make the transfer since it will take too long. Unless you have the "instant" transfer like Julide:smile1:

I assumed the OP was referring to buying in an H store? Protection would not be necessary then?

If I misunderstood the OP I´d like to say that I too would pay using a CC if we are talking about ebay and the likes. Unless I "know" the seller of course.

Amex has purchase protection from damage or theft.
