I'm considering visiting FSH around September 5-6 but I'm concerned it might not be a good idea due to the artisans being on vacation in August, which might affect the availability of items, and any potential leftover effects from the Olympics. Opinions please? Better to postpone?
I was in Paris in late Sept of 2021 and was offered at Kelly Danse at FSH. There are no guarantees but with the artisans being off the month of Aug and the Olympics I think postponing isn’t a bad idea.

This is a long post, but I just wanted to report back on my appointment with my SA at the Sevres store yesterday. This is the 2nd time meeting/working with her after having gotten a B30 from her last year. Funny enough, the account is under my husband’s name and he coordinated the appt with her. He already told her before we got there that it’s my bday in a few days and wanted to get me something special since she asked if there was anything he wanted her to prepare beforehand. When we arrived, I first asked her for 2 pairs of shoes and a poncho. Got those and right away asked if there was anything else I wanted. I know everyone says to just be direct with them, but I’m always so nervous asking for a BKC. So I told her I was look for a K and right away she asked me what size/color. In my mind, I was so excited and thinking is this really happening?! No matter how long I prepared for this moment, I seem to blank out when the time comes. I told her I wanted a K and before I even asked for an MK, straight away, she said no MKs. So I said I’d love a k25 then and if they didn’t have that, a k28 is my last choice. She asked if there was any other bag I’d be interested in and I said no. In terms of color, I told her I love rich colors but sometimes it’s hard to style with clothing. So a neutral would be lovely, but something that is a little different/unique, perhaps a shade of gris. In terms of leather, I asked her if she had any in touch and she said she doesn’t think she has many exotics at all bc artisans are away for August and they only have whatever stock is left. She left and few min later, she came back to me and said the magic words while carrying a big box,”please follow me!” When we got into the room, she told me she didn’t have a k25 but instead revealed a gorgeous retourne craie togo K28 with gold hw. The bag is beautiful, not the usual color I would generally go for bc it’s light and I’m always nervous about maintaining it. I tried it on and even though the strap is a little short for my frame to wear crossbody (I’m 5’7”) she said likely with a k28, I wouldn’t really be cross bodying it anyways. Plus, I can order a longer strap later if I wanted. But it fell perfectly when carried on the shoulder. It was too beautiful to pass up. So of course I said yes to it. I noticed she also brought in another small box after and said,”I know you wanted something exotic and special so I bought this in to show you.” She unboxed a stunning Kelly to go in black alligator. It was the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen. I was afraid to ask her how much, but after trying it on, I couldn’t pass that up either. She tried to sell me the insert but just like last year, I declined bc it’s not waterproof. Also had her pick out a twilly but no rodeos in stock. She asked me one last time if there was anything else I needed and I asked about the Constance. She immediately said no bc I am already getting one iconic (quota) bag. I mentioned that I thought a C isn’t considered a quota bag in Paris but it seems they are starting to change that. I was fine with it bc it gives me a reason to return to Paris again to see her . All in all, an amazing trip. To top it off, my SA treated us to the cafe for my bday while she wrapped up my goodies. We had a lovely coffee and sample plate of desserts with a candle on mine  Thanks to everyone who who offered words of encouragement to me before my appt! Love this group!
Wonderful story! Congrats on your offer & Happy Birthday!

Wow wow wow, they are stunning, especially the alligator KTG!! I didn’t know I needed exotic until I saw this
Believe me, I felt and still feel the same too. Seems too extravagant for my casual self but I was speechless when she took it out of the box. Only live once, I’m in Paris, it’s my bday…I convinced myself to get it 🤣. It’s also the first time I’ve seen the square stamp. That in itself was a thrill!

I didn’t find it to be any busier due to the Olympics in the boutiques and even though my SA thought there would be a ton of people flocking the stores to shop, but she said the volume of people coming in has been the same. But, yes, the artisans are away for the month so they only have the stock of what was made prior to them leaving. But even though they usually say they have little or no stock, don’t believe them 🤣. They always have something. May not be the exact color or size you want but it’s just a matter of whether they want to offer it or not.

Wondering how big the price differential is for purchasing in Paris vs US? I imagine prices are harmonized and while there is the VAT you still have to pay duty on return. Am going to Paris for work in the upcoming months and wondering if it’s “worth it “ to try

IMO, it's about 15-35% cheaper in Paris after adjusting for tax refunds, sales taxes in the US, and the exchange rate.
