I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I forgot to add pictures of the jewelry I saw at FSH.
A lot of gorgeous pieces!
Wondering if they are more people in Paris now. It was extremely empty 2 days ago. No tourists!

Thank you all for the bday wishes and also being happy for the Birkin scored! So here my my beautiful B. A Beauté we said in french! 😊😊View attachment 6036851
Congrats and happy birthday! What a great success story. I'm heading to Paris next week and have an appt. with my SA at Sevre. I'm hoping to be as lucky as you since my bday is coming up too!

Please share your thoughts….seems like everyone is very specific in their Paris appointments.
I am newer on my H journey and would be happy with many different sizes and colors of Q bags. If I am lucky enough to get a lottery appointment, should I be honest that I would be happy with any size? Would that improve my chance of getting a bag? Or should I narrow what I want to sound more intentional?
Thoughts please!

IMO only, go to the lottery appt wearing colors and clothes that are representative of your style. If your true style is athleisure, wear that. Then ask for top choice, most difficult first, that you truly want (generally this is a 25BK) Bc you will rapidly get a sense of whether the SA is fresh and has plenty to offer; whether the pickings are slim; or whether she is willing to root around and hunt for you. If the SA indicates that you can also choose a non Qb, wait until after you have exhausted all Qb options first. (This is usually when she turns up absolutely empty handed). If you get a QB, there is also the chance that the SA will ask if you want anything else, like a non Qb).

If the above empty handed is the case, or if you get a walk in, most likely you will not be offered a QB, but do not take a non Qb if you still have a chance at a subsequent lottery shot. ( you can ask if you have another shot at lottery if you don’t get a bag at this appt). Too many members here have posted that they accepted a non Qb at a walk in, only to be told regretfully at a subsequent lottery appt, that you cannot be offered a QB bag bc you just got another bag.

In other words, if the bag does not really sing to you, do not accept it. You have to really love it to spend this much.

If you really feel very strongly that you want to ask for any QB available, perhaps a nicer way to ask is simply to say that this is your first time, and you never dreamed you would be lucky enough to buy any bag of this quality, much less in Paris. That you have not had much opportunity to see the bags IRL, and would she have any suggestions as to what size and leather to choose given your style.

If you encounter brusque behavior from an SA or the leather desk, do not take it personally. They have to say no a lot, and whether they can offer a bag is perhaps limited to considerations beyond a two minute interaction with a first time customer.

ETA: even if you think you will accept a B35, these can be forever bags, and honestly the 35 is heavy even when empty.
When loaded with a laptop, folders, books, papers. . . And, add a few years in the mix. . . . Even if the SA cannot find anything for you to purchase that you want, you can still ask if it’s possible to see and try on some bags, etc. etc.

This is excellent advice. I would also add that if you have a broad list of colors and styles, that is also a fine way to approach the quota bag options. I don’t think you should go in saying you’ll take anything in any color but rather have a sense of what works with your lifestyle and your style in general and go from there. Good luck.

THIS

They can bring out the tester bags for you to look at. I think you would pretty immediately have a preference once you have handled the bags!

Instead of “any color” think carefully about what will go with your wardrobe/lifestyle because, trust me, you are going to want to carry this bag every day when you first get it. If you accepted some awkward - for you - color it’s going to be very sad.

The whole of H TPF in one post. This needs to be a sticky.

Busy in Paris with the Olympics. There is no concierge delivery during this time due to the sheer number of road closures and things going on so bear that in mind if you’re having a shopping day at H during the Olympics period.

No new bag displays at FSH but the store seemed well stocked.

Hoping to pop by another day when I have a bit more time.

Thanks for the update! I’ve never used the concierge service but good to know for the future. Glad to hear the store is well stocked. Keeping fingers crossed since I arrive this weekend.
