I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Honestly, I don't like wearing just one brand from head to toe, and I find such a customer profile contrary to the brand identity.

While studying brand history at university, our professors taught us that using the products that form the identity of a brand is a true salute of respect to that brand.

That's why I always like to visit the Hermès store wearing their scarves.

I'll be coming to Paris with my B25 this summer. I'm thinking of wearing it when I stop by the store. But will it provide any advantage? We'll see.

This is very interesting! And it’s funny, i definitely get more compliments when I wear one of my scarves into my local store compared to my bags. The scarves are definitely a good conversation starter!
I hope you have an amazing time in Paris and get all of the items you are looking for!

Thank you all for your replies! It seems the consensus is that it doesn’t really make a difference which is great to know for my upcoming trip! I’ve seen people post Paris success stories on here and facebook groups and they were carrying an H bag so I wondered if that helped.
Sometimes, locations and individuals can indeed make a difference. If you look at my posts, you'll see that I've written about not being able to get an appointment for years, even though I was living in Paris at the time.

My friend who went to the store wearing an H&M jacket was able to get the bag for me. Meanwhile, I was turned down countless times while wearing a Burberry coat, for instance.

Good luck to you. I think being a tourist, sweet-talking, and bringing up the question of "I wonder if" at the end of everything will only give us that chance.

hi everyone, trying to plan my next trip in Paris, will be staying around 1 week to 2 weeks, plan to apply for the leather appointment for some of the days, does anyone know, if i were to successfully get an appointment, when/what time does that success email land? is it the evening of the day that i apply the appointment OR early morning next day (so on the day of the appointment)? many thanks

You can do it through either, as long as you're on wifi in France, or even EU sometimes. I was able to submit requests from near Barcelona for instance.
Ty. I’ll try to do it that way since i dont know much about the settings on my phone and all that VPN stuff. I havent decided yet what im going to use in terms of data connection on my phone. Im not doing roaming thru at&t.

Ahh I misunderstood your original message! Yes, any phone will work as well :) I think as long as it is connected in France and maybe the EU as well.

As for VPN, the opera browser offers in built VPN for free. You can install in and use it in the place of other VPN apps. I find it more straightforward than figuring out other VPN apps.

I use AT&T overseas all the time and it's the simplest way. If you turn your phone on you'll automatically get the daily charge for unlimited calling, texting and data.

same. once you subscribe to the international plan, it's $10 a day if you use data roam that day (no charge if you only use wifi) and the max charge is $100 for the month, which actually isn't too bad. you have to call them and activate the plan ahead of time though. it automatically connects when you land and it's totally seamless.

The only thing that’s a little annoying @Xthgirl is that it’s a maximum of $100 per billing cycle and we’ve definitely ended up paying more than $100 as a result. However, it is seamless. Also any additional lines on the same account can use the international feature for only $5/day.
