I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I started my H journey in 2015 in London at the Royal Exchange. This is a tiny store but mighty in terms of sales of men's ties (as it is in the London Financial district). I moved to Paris a few years ago and have simply not found my groove here in terms of finding an SA or a store that I prefer. I'm not French but I speak French fluently and always make clear that I live in France permanently. The problem is that there are three stores in Paris and all three of them cater largely to tourists (I think that perhaps the Sevres store (Left Bank) might have a larger proportion of local customers). FSH is of course the flagship and tourists on a Hermes mission will naturally make their way there. George V feels like a bit of an afterthought--it's larger than the average Hermes boutique but far smaller than the other two Paris stores. I have a feeling at George V that the customers are mainly overflow from the nearby Champs Elysees and the flagship stores of LV, Saint Laurent, Dior and Cartier.

So strangely building a relationship with an SA is harder in Paris even though it is the home of Hermes. I have had much warmer welcomes in H stores in some smaller cities (for example, Dublin and Padua spring to mind, I was able to quickly develop a rapport with the staff in those stores). I imagine that in a smaller French city it would be easier. In Paris one is competing not just with the locals but with well-heeled tourists who come to Paris for the explicit purpose of dropping thousands of euros at Hermes.
Just pm'd you..
Have patience as one needs that when shopping H in Paris

Please update us on your experience! I’m going to Paris in a couple months and would love to hear your story
Sadly no luck this time either. I tried for a walk in at FSH but denied, denied, denied! Although I did buy a swimsuit while I was there, just in case it's something my home store doesn't get (I didn't see any swimsuits there a few weeks earlier but maybe it was too early). I was trying for FSH with the online lottery but the FSH associates said to select no preference for a better chance at getting one, and I actually did score an appointment at Sevres, but walked away empty handed. The problem is I'm really looking for another classic Kelly in a dark or neutral color, size 28 or 25, so I'm pretty specific in what I want. I was open to black, dark brown, etupe, or gold. The sales associate I had was actually quite nice but he explained it's better to be open minded because their store mostly gets colors, limited edition pieces, etc. He didn't end up having anything for me. He brought out a black constance but I was only interested in a like creme color like craie or nata [edit: for a constance specifically]. I also saw a beige marfa kelly but I just don't like the color that much (too greenish for my taste), I didn't love the leather and it was gold hardware (I prefer silver), so just too many strikes against it but he said it was the closest thing they had to what I was looking for. It is what it is I guess! I think that's the issue though with a Sevres appointment. I personally have found the staff there to be MUCH more pleasant but it's the second time I had an appointment there (first was a walk in) and they just didn't have anything, at least not for me ;) If you just want A bag and you're really open to style/color then I recommend that store as it's much more sane than FSH, but if you're really on the hunt for a classic B or K then I think FSH gives you the best chance of actually getting the bag you want since they have more stock, assuming you can get that elusive appointment... So if anyone else has tips for how they got an FSH appointment please share! I'm going to try again in April but not getting my hopes up :/

I agree that the staff at Sevres tends to be a lot nicer and relaxed to FSH.

I always get a bit lost at Sevres and never asked for a walk in. Is the leather desk the first one when you go downstairs?

No, it's around the corner to the right, kind of against the staircase. It's across from their main handbag display I think.

I don't necessarily fault the FSH staff because it does seem like they have to deal with some "extreme" customers, but sometimes they do leave something to be desired. I was having some technical issues with the online application the first day and they just said to try again, even though it literally wasn't working, so even faking some concern for my problem would have made me feel slightly better lol. And when I was looking at RTW not a single person asked to help. I was actually a bit turned off and decided to save most of my purchases for my regular SA at that point :shrugs:

Yes I also agreed that the staff at Sevres was much nicer and the environment seems much more nicer and approachable. I did have a decent SA at FSH, but overall the environment was very uncomfortable and it was very chaotic. I felt very overwhelmed and rushed and claustrophobic, albeit how large the store is. George V was just blah...

We had luck with a walk in appointment at Sevres last spring but we were in Paris for a few weeks and had made a few purchases before requesting the appointment. And, to be completely transparent, DH was the one who asked for an appointment as I’m not nearly brave enough.

There's a welcome desk at the front door (main entrance); another at bottom of stairs (used to be the leather desk); and now there is a podium for leather appointments on the right wall of the staircase. If you want a walk-in leather appt, either desk downstairs can sort you out.

Please may I ask for your experience getting a BKC a week after fashion week?
I was successful a week after pfw in jan, booked a leather app with my SA but was worried there would be nothing left however I was offered 1 k 25 and 2 b25. So it is possible! However I have had a regular SA in Paris for the last few months not sure if that made a difference..

Thank you ❤️ I have a leather SA too who is super kind to me. I am feeling positive about the appointment but trying not to get too excited just incase. It would be my first quota bag- what would you recommend as my first bag- a Birkin or Kelly? Also how many bags are you allowed? I will keep everyone posted of my experience just praying I will have some luck.

If you have an SA in Paris and haven’t received 2 QBs this year from a location where they can see your account, and if you haven’t been blocked from purchasing QBs in Paris (banned) none of the holidays, events mentioned on social media or circumstances will impact your ability to purchase a QB.

In my opinion Birkin as first bag! You can purchase one quota bag at the appointment. 2 a year in Paris. I think some people have been allowed to purchase a non quota at the same time? My SA said it wasn’t possible though and instead told me to book leather appointments for the non quota bags. Good luck! A good relationship with your SA is definitely a good sign and there are always bags in Paris 😊
