I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I scored 2 appointments this year, 1 in May on my name and the other in June on my husband's name via the lottery system.
Both the appointments were for George V.
Unfortunately we were both received by the same SA and both times she took about 5 minutes to check for the bags we requested and turned us down both times. We were very open to different sizes and colours but she vehemently denied having any stock of bags.
It was absolutely frustrating as people were being led away to private areas during their appointments.
I did not even accompany my husband for his appointment as I was so put off by her attitude, that it seemed like a nightmare that he encountered the same SA.
Getting a bag in my country is almost impossible, so Paris was my only hope but I guess I will never be getting one.
sorry to hear … i probably had the same SA last time … returned in 3 minutes and told me no bags at all

Arrived in Paris on Tuesday the 30th. Made my first attempt for an appointment for the 31st and 1st. Received a confirmation immediately but no rejection or acceptance either evening. Tried again yesterday morning for Saturday the 2nd and got an appointment confirmation last night for today at 6pm. As they email said to check back frequently during the day, I did and my appointment had been moved
Up to 1:30. Mad dash to get ready and when I checked again, it said my appointment was imminent. Grabbed a cab to George V and waited. About 30 minutes later I met a lovely SA who asked me
What I was looking for. I told her I wanted a gold 32 or 35 Kelly and a few back up choices. She left and returned about 15 minutes later with a single box. She slowly opened it and it was a 32 Gold Kelly with PHW in Barenia Faubourg. I couldn’t believe it. The smell is intoxicating. Of course, I said yes and walked out with this beauty.

I was here in April this year and got an appointment after trying 9 times (x 3 with my husband, son and myself). Got the appointment on our last day in Paris at Rue de Sevres. Was lucky enough to get a
35 Black with PHW Togo Kelly.

I know I have been extremely lucky and I think I’m officially done with my Hermes acquisitions (is that even possible)?

The George V store was busy today. There was a line when I left the store.

Good luck to all who are trying for a lottery appointment and finding your special Hermes bag.
It can happen, I know it doesn't always happen. I have heard No many times but when you finally get the Yes, it is magical.
This is awesome to hear. Did you specifically request George V, or did you select no preference?

Did you pre spend any amount in Paris before your appointment?

Hi everyone! Has anyone gotten a lottery leather appointment, but had applied for it outside of France? My friends and I are wondering if that’s a way for them to easily reject people if they can somehow see you’re not close enough to make it to any appointment the next day.

I selected no preference. On my last visit in April, I chose FSH the first 5 days with no luck, as well as trying my luck as a walk in. The last 4, I chose no preference and ended up with an appointment at Rue de Sevres. So this time, I decided to put no preference every day and ended up with an appointment at George V on the 3rd try. I did not have high hopes going in and was completely surprised at how things went.

Yes me. Within EU it’s possible to make it in time for the appt via plane.

I always use VPN when applying from home to make it look like I am in France. But so far that did not help :coolio:

On the other hand I read about Paris locals applying >100 times and still no luck

It may be an unpopular opinion, but for lottery appts, I don’t think prespend matters at all.

I don’t have any basis for the following belief, but I do think that any SA assigned to cover the leather lottery desk
has a limited amount of BK that they can give out in a day as well as a limited assortment to choose from. I also believe VIPs have a wider selection and Walk ins have a smaller one, and so on. That’s why not everyone who gets a lottery appt can get a BK.

There may be a $$$ threshold where a non leather SA can justifiably approach the desk and ask for a walk in exemption, but from reading this thread, this seems to result in a one-of appt at best, and not the start of a relationship. I don’t think SAs at FSH necessarily respect customers to appear to buy everything without much discrimination in order to get a bag. But, JMO, and YMMV.

I just got back from a family vacation to Paris a couple weeks ago. We had an amazing time and it was an unforgettable trip with our kids. Since it was a family vacation, I really didn’t want H to take over… as I’m sure you all know how that can happen. But of course I still had to make time for a little shopping.

I was not able to get a leather appointment through the lottery. My husband and I applied 6 days in a row and were unsuccessful, despite a prior history and new purchases made at the start of the trip.

I had arranged to meet with my RTW SA a couple weeks before my visit. This was not a leather appt, just a casual hey are you working this day, I would love to visit. He put us in a room with a comfy sofa and spent 2-3 hrs with us. I got some beautiful pieces that I had not seen at home and was also very happy they had the platform loafers that had been sold out in the US. (I posted in the RTW thread.) It was a really fun experience and my daughters enjoyed it too. I was secretly hoping he would offer a bag or a leather appt at the end of the visit, since my bag offers at home are usually surprise offers, but it didn’t happen lol. However, I specifically did not ask him about a leather appt. We were having a lovely time and I didn’t want to spoil the mood, so not sure what he would’ve said had I asked. He probably would’ve told me to keep trying the lottery! Granted I did not buy a set of sofas, nor am I a long established client or a VIP in any way, but same day purchases in an amount that is a multiple of what you read on this forum do not necessarily result in a bag offer or leather appt and of course should not be expected.

I had an appt to meet with my FJ SA towards the end of our stay. We have a great connection and probably spent 15 min looking at jewelry and 2 hours chatting and catching up. I did purchase a beautiful necklace. (Posted in FJ thread.) When I told her I had not been successful with the lottery, she offered to speak to her manager to see if she could get a leather appt for me. She said she would text me the next morning and didn’t think it would be an issue. I did not hear from her the whole day and just assumed it was not going to happen. Literally at the end of the day, at 6pm, she texted me that she secured a leather appt for me the following day, our last day in Paris!

The leather appt went well. I asked for some limited items that I knew would be difficult, and of course he did not have any of it (for me.) He said he would check what was available. I was first offered a K25 noir lizard touch, which I already have, so I declined. My SA then came back and said “I know you don’t have this one because it is new for the fall.” It was a Birkin 25 in bleu saphir velvet and caban swift leather with Permabrass hardware. The color was gorgeous and the bag itself was so different from anything I currently have in my collection. Of course I accepted!

I wish I knew the magic formula for Paris. Obviously there isn’t one and everyone’s experience is different. I feel very lucky my story ended the way it did and grateful to my SA for helping me out. Unfortunately for me, but happy for her, she’s leaving H for other opportunities and securing the appt for me was a favor/parting gift. (No she is not the influencer.) I don’t think it matters where you apply for the lottery, how many times you apply, or which store you select. I also don’t think your purchases make a significant impact. (For those of us who are not furnishing our homes with H.) I do feel that it really boils down to a LOT of luck and the human factor, the relationship in the end. Just my experience at least. :flowers:

And here’s my blue velvet Birkin.

Love your story, and I am so thrilled for you! I adore all of your purchases, and your bag is stunning! I would text your SAs to ask if they or the SM can facilitate an introduction to one of their nicest colleagues  hugs
