Part 2
So I was right about older lady. I have been en FSH and the younger ladies are harder about getting appointments or bags. Yes I could have shopped and try to charm an SA because that’s how I got my online appointment last year. I bought a few things that I needed and at 9:30pm I got the confirmation for next day. Although my flight next day was at 4pm I didn’t want to go through all that trouble and stressed out about my flight. I just wasn’t in the mood to play the game or deal with Detaxe and customs. Next day I went to Hermes at CDG L terminal. I decided to check to see if they had a few things my local store don’t have. My husband got a cashmere scarf, o got a bearn wallet and got a pair of sandals (new style that I haven’t seen). None of these were in displayed. I just showed him pictures and he went in the back. He asked me if I wanted anything else. I asked for the Kelly Elan and he said he did t have that style. I thought about asking for a Kelly or Birkin 25 but honestly I was not in the mood. I left very happy with my purchase. I’ve been searching for the bearn wallet for 2 years. When I asked him about wallets he showed me the bearn and slim Roulis. So cute and cuter than the Constance slim! Almost got it but the bearn is less bulky. Kind of regretting not getting too. At this point I don’t want to play that game in Paris. Sooner or later I will get the bag that I want. I rather go to my local store and buy from them. They tell me what they can get or not. The store manager tells me what he is ordering so I have a sense of what I need to shop in other stores. They have been good with some “impossible” things to find like a pair of black Chypres.
Lesson learn if an SA give you their contact info and promise you to get a bag for you next time that might not be true. BTW this SA said she helps you shop through the whole store in every department.
If you still want to pursue that QB in Paris but something that it’s impossible to get at home and try to click with an SA and tell that person that you want a bag and how hard is to get an online appointment.
Shop at the CDG! It’s so nice and calm and ask to see if they have those items even though is not displayed.
Honestly I’m not disappointed at all. I was in Spain for personal reason and Paris was just an overnight stay to avoid issues with flights. I wasn’t going to extend or do anything special for a bag. If it happened great if not that was fine. It was a nice evening. I enjoyed a very nice meal. Oh and btw it was my 26 year anniversary and like I said I wasn’t going to play the game and didn’t bother to mention it.
Just got back home and got a call from Rolex SA that she can get me the watch I want. So no QB but yes Rolex!

Have fun in Paris!
I never saw the shop at CDG. Is it before or after security?

Simply sitting and waiting for an appointment, you do observe examples of human behaviour, good and bad and very, very bad. Especially at the leather reception desk. ;)

People behavior that you describe was my experience too. I absolutely don’t get it way people would start arguing when the SA said no for an appointment. What son earth could say that would change the decision?

impact of stock at mothership post-the major fashion weeks in Paris?
if you are a RTW client, an SA may recommend that you book your appt towards the last days of fashion week so as to get the benefit of easily seeing the collection for preorder ( I haven’t done this yet and do not know exactly how this works). Since I’ve been fortunate to have been offered QBs on my trips (some of which I’ve politely refused), I assume that there is stock. (I don’t automatically assume it will be offered to me though) I sometimes think that if an SA doesn’t offer you a QB, it may be bc she has already reached her daily limit, and I wouldn’t take it personally. It seems like H policy is simply to say there is no more available that day to avoid lengthy discussion. JMO

@natinwonderland, just wanted to add, I am not a big spender in Paris though my local spend in NY is very healthy

Thanks for the detailed sharing @880. Que sera sera for me then. I’m at bag peace. Anything extra is a bonus.

Was shopping at Le Bon Marche on Sèvres around midday and was warned about the riots. Shortly after went to Sevres Hermès and it was not mentioned. Around 3 pm went to FSH and it was not mentioned there, however, I did see a lot of police ”preparing“ near Champs Élysée in the taxi back to my hotel.

On a more positive note I was able to secure a walk in leather appointment at FSH today. I was sure to mention that I was only looking for a picotin. They coordinated an appointment for me without checking my profile. Once I was assisted they asked what color I was looking for which they unfortunately did not have, but allowed me to view all the colors that were available. I opted for a gorgeous picotin 18 in blue de prusse with ghw. For only being in Paris for 2 days and this being my first trip trying for a bag I could not feel more lucky!

Congrats on your Picotin 18 in Bleu De Prusse :) Absolutely gorgeous color!

Has anyone ever gone to paris twice in the span of a month and got a quota bag each time?
When I was in Paris for a month in the fall of 2021, I was offered and accepted a B25 during the first week of our trip. I got an appointment via lottery a couple of weeks later and when the SA asked what I was interested in I, of course, mentioned a Birkin in my ideal specs and he noted that I had already accepted a Birkin a few weeks earlier. I ended up with a 24/24 35.
So…two appointments within a month but only one Birkin.
