I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Please do not convey messages like that and make people believe they need pre-spend to get a lottery and more spend to get a QB !
That cant be less true !

Nothing is required to get a lottery neither a bag !
Multiple girls (including myself) got several appointments and QB each time with 0 spend but the bags and maybe an old twilly like 8 years ago …

Congrats anyway on your new QB

Same here. Almost 0 pre spend in Paris (300 euros about 7 years ago), got a walk in appoinment and got offered a B30 sellier black box GHW - everything is possible in Paris

I agree with the others that prespend is definitely not taken into account during the lottery. Now whether prespend matters for what you will be offered, I would argue it does not unless it’s a huge amount, and by then, one would not need to use the lottery. The amount of times I have heard people at their leather appointments recite how much they have spent, and SAs have simply nodded. There will always be a someone who has spent more.

The amount of people I overheard also saying they were indifferent to color and hardware as long as it’s the smallest Kelly or Birkin amazes me. Maybe I am just very particular with my bags and choices?

In my experience, the best one can do to get an offer in Paris is be sincere and genuine. The SAs in the Paris stores love the brand and leather goods. Geeking out with them on the leathers and designs far outweighs any spending. It makes for a much more enjoyable and memorable experience, too. During my appointments, it’s fun for both me and my SAs— as shopping ought to be.

There is a Q&A section in ******** that talks about the importance of having a profile and prespend. Eatprayloveandbehappy shared her experience. My experience was similar. It’s not a set in stone rule. Nothing guarantees a QB.

Even the above blogger (I so want to put that in quotation marks) does not say you need a profile or a spend to get a lottery appointment. You absolutely do not.

What is “accompanying spend on appointment day”? I haven’t heard this before or seen it happen in Paris. Congrats on your B25!
on the day of the appointment, they will ask what else you are interested in (other than leather goods) or what else they can help you with. Some SAs may be a bit “pushier” with their messaging and cause some to feel pressured to buy, but you’re not required to.

She has several Q&A’s. Under ? recently posted she talks about quota bags and start shopping with a specific SA. Again nothing different from what people have reported here.

We had a scheduled appointment with our regular SA this week at FSH. It was later in the afternoon and she said there were no Bs or Ks available and offered a C. It is the first time there hasn't been any Bs or Ks available during our many year relationship with her. I'm not sure what to make of it. Were there none? Or had we not purchased enough at that appointment? Many times we are there and do not even ask for a bag and buy lots of other things. It would seem rather unfair that all of that additional spending doesn't seem to count. We only buy what we like at that time and there just wasn't much this week. I remember hearing from our SA in the past that there are always Bs and Ks available on some level, so I guess we didn't make the cut this time.

There likely wasn’t any Birkin or Kelly that fit your specifications in stock at the time. I would not overthink it too much. Congrats on the Constance!

You don't need an SA. Just go to the register and tell them you need to pick up an online order and do a return/repurchase for your VAT refund. I've done this several times. It's not a big deal.
@mkg3, click on above link to get more info

for future reference, go to relevant thread such as Paris for Hermes
go to the top right search function (magnifying glass)
type key words; in this case VAT refund Paris online

Got lucky with a lottery appointment in Paris this week and I managed to score a QB.

Based on my experience, I can confirm that there’s no such thing as a free lunch in Paris at the moment via the lottery system. I don’t want to go into details but there’s accompanying spend involved on appointment day. And it’s definitely more than 1:1. Very consistent with global prespend requirements.

The saving grace is, the SA was awesome. Makes you so comfortable that you want to spend. And the QB was a rather lovely offer. More than makes up for my lousy exp at FSH in May.

So ladies, don’t give up on trying! The lottery system really allocates slots but whether you score a QB, it’s up to you

Why take the time to write about your experience but gatekeep information? Clarify everything or else it causes misinformation to spread, which is not beneficial to anyone reading these threads.
“Score a QB, it’s up to you” it really isn’t up to anyone other than the Hermes employee you get assigned to during the appointment.

What that person (can't use the name here) said is completely different to what @eatprayloveandbehappy said, which is:

You need to prespend to get a lottery slot ie build profile. Doesn’t need to be a lot.

Again YOU DO NOT NEED A SPEND to get a lottery appointment. It is a random draw. There're enough experiences related in this thread alone to qualify as accurate research on this.

:btdh:

Hi, but how do you know that you would not receive the offer without the spend during the appointment. Did the SA mention something?
Of course spending help, also the SA to evaluate if someone is a real client or not but in my experience no immediate spending before the offering.

Contrast on your new bag :happydance:

Kind regards

Didn’t expect such a big uproar over my sharing.

By building profile and spend before the appt - that’s really been my experience and my friends’ experience in 2022 and 2023. I never said it had to be a lot of money. Pls don’t misquote me. I’ll share my friend’s experience in 2022 - day one to three in Paris, zero purchases.. no appt. Day 4 she bought a Kelly leather bracelet. She’s brand new to Hermes. Then we went off to other parts of Europe. Eventually when we got back to Paris, she got a lottery appt and she was offered a Picotin. No B/K. Another gal bought about 15K EUR in 2023 and got a last min cancellation appt from the leather desk and was offered a C. She has profile in her own hometown but not France. There have been other posts from people on purse forum or IG and YT where ppl share that after buying some things, they finally struck lottery. Whether it’s a B/K offer, that’s another thing altogether. Others have spend tons and still no appointment. That’s when I pieced everything up with my own experience this week and inferred that you need at least some spend to put you on a positive standing to demonstrate that you have some interest in Hermes. Specific to my experience this week, the SA did say many things to me and that’s why I wrote the post that way!

14 years ago, I got a K28 from FSH with no appointment. At that time, there wasn’t wasn’t this lottery system.

All our experiences are unique, based on our profiles and journeys. I would like to invite those who have been successful in recent years and months to share. That way, we can gain more up-to-date info and know if the following scenarios are true for those who got the lottery appts and their frequencies
(1) zero purchase from Paris - you can get a B/K (C is not a QB) via lottery - TRUE or very rare?
(2) zero purchase from Paris - leather appt but non-QB bags (True or rare?)
(3) some purchase history - leather appt with B/K offer
(4) some purchase history - leather appt with non-QB offer

Please do not put me on the firing line. I merely shared my opinion and my experience. It is not from the Hermes bible or the universal truth. All our experiences differ.

PS, And if you haven’t had any successful lottery experience in the recent post pandemic era, please refrain from being so snarky with your comments. Am not referring to these two ladies that I’ve responded to. We are all here to share and in the spirit of sharing, let’s be nice and cordial.

May I attempt to sooth ruffled feathers and clarify.
I believe that some posters may have experienced that some purchase history however small may help to secure an ad hoc appointment given at the leather desk.
It's very unlikely that the online appointment (given solely without any enquiry at the desk or with SAs) is influenced by any purchase history, big or small, recent or otherwise.
Some purchase in any other department outside leather might now be encouraged during appointments for newer clients. This is probably true.
However bags are offered regularly to a few clients every day with absolutely no simultaneous or prior purchase. This is definitely true otherwise this particular thread would not be so active. :-)
HTH!
