Just an update for whoever is in Paris.

I went to the George V and FSH store the past 4 days hoping for a walk in appointment but no luck on both. My husband also tried going to the store at different times but still no luck. We tried going at 2-3pm & 5pm.

But I do feel like the people at FSH seem much nicer and friendly even if they told me “no” for any walkins. People at George V just dismissed me and were giving some attitude even when we were being so friendly and respectful.

I also saw some people in George V who got an online appointment not being offered a QB, but of course if they are, they would be taken to a private room and we wouldn’t be able to see it.

Just pray you get a very nice SA that is willing to help you get the leather walkin appointment, bc the one I had in George V didn’t seem to care even if I bought other things in other departments (around €5K)

Good luck anyways! Hope you guys get your dream bag in Paris!!

I also felt the associate working the leather appointments desk at FSH was very nice. It’s interesting that they rotate the staff though. The very same SA who didn’t give me an offer at FSH the day before and was not the warmest to me, was assigned to the appts desk the next day when I tried to ask for a cancellation . So I waited until she stepped away to ask the very nice associate who helped me the day before.
I also tried walking into Sevres and they pretty much dismissed me right away as well. It’s really the luck of the draw!

I got the same feeling about GV.

I would echo both of your comments. Totally hit or miss depending on the person you encounter, but in my limited experience it seemed FSH SAs were more friendly.

I found the baldish guy at the George v store who tries to direct you as you come in to the store to be unnecessary snooty and condescending almost every time. (One time, an SA had given me her name previously and suggested I ask for her when I returned on my next visit, but apparently she has become an leather SA so he just assumed I must be there to try to get a leather appointment and refused to let her know I had asked about her and told me to go look for her around the store. )

Mixed experiences for me at Sevres. I found some come off nice but seemed to sort of play games Re bags offered.

I have also seen at least one same leather desk SA work at sevres and George v.

Unfortunately, this “demand” and “low stock” story often gives the SA’s the power to be unnecessarily snooty to their customers. I finally just stepped foot in the flagship store in NYC and went in to buy a twilly for my newly acquired B30 from Paris and the SA hardly gave me the time of day. Almost like I was wasting his time with a measly twilly. In fact, he hardly even wrapped it up for me after I paid and was off to more “important” clients. I really wanted to say something but his loss is another SA’s gain :)

I've been reading this thread for a while now - thanks all for sharing your success and lessons learned stories.

Has anyone of you had better luck with walk-in appointments /QB offers communicating in French with SAs in Paris?

I honestly do not think you need to worry about that. It would probably just help if that's both your first language for clarity but otherwise it's not a problem. My DH speaks French very well, (he uses it when meeting his Parisian French friends and at business meetings) but he has never used it during our appointments with our SAs. I'm not sure they even realise we understand what they are saying when they discuss stock amongst themselves eg our SA to RTW/Shoe/ FJ SAs.

I'll keep this very brief and very positive!! :)
I was on a girls trip last weekend; three of us managed to score! At FSH on the first day, my friend (who did have an appt prescheduled with an SA) was offered a B25 Gris Perle which she declined, and then accepted the next offer, a K28 Mauve Sylvestre. The next day at FSH I inquired about kelly to go wallets and I picked up the only one they said they had available, a matte alligator vert d'eau. On Monday at Rue Sevres (only store open on that holiday) my other friend and I went and she got offered a B30 in Feu, which she initially declined, then a K32 in Gris Perle, and then eventually went back to the B30... absence made the heart grow stronger haha.
Very positive trip for us, good luck with everyone on their trips!!!

Thanks for sharing :) During our last trip to Paris, we noticed that all SA almost by default switched to English. My DH is French and I do speak some French so thought it may be a plus when trying to score a leather appointment/QB :) I did not try last time we were in Paris though.

I do think it is a small plus (as someone who grew up speaking English and Kiswahili with a smattering of others, French is not my first language)....as with anything in Paris it's good to at least be able to greet in French. But the leather SAs speak many languages and the majority of their non-local clientele speak no French, so, not a big deal.

Hi everyone,
I have been a silent reader of the thread for some time now and just wanted to ask you guys for your advise and/or experience.

I will only be arriving in Paris in a couple of days and was just trying my luck in the online lottery appointment system and much to my surprise, I received a confirmation email for my leather appointment.

For those whom have had an online appointment confirmed but were unable to attend, what options do you have?

- were you able to reschedule the appointment to a couple of days later?
- For confirmation, Hermes does not allow your relative/friend to go in your place, do they?
- if you were unable to turn up for this appointment, will you be denied a chance of scoring a QB when you visit the store in Paris and will it also affect the chance of you getting another shot at the lottery appointment?

TIA!

I would go to the store when you are actually in Paris, show the receptionist your confirmation email and see what they say. Pretty sure they would not let a friend or relative take your slot instead, you have just given a walk-in a possible free slot. Also quite sure it will not affect chances of a bag offer or another online appointment if you missed your original appointment.

Thanks so much!
I was worried they will pull out the records and see that I was unable to turn up for my appointment.
Do you have any advice on how soon after should I turn up at the store and let them know of my missed appointment? (I.e. a few days/1 week / 2 weeks)?
Also saw that getting a leather appointment does not necessarily equate to getting a B/K/C?

A friend missed her appointment a few months ago. She went to FSH the following day to check if they could accommodate her. They declined the request and advice her to apply again (out of interest she was able to secure a new online appointment after a few weeks).
However, you have nothing to loose by asking. I reckon, the sooner you go to the store, the better.

From my experience they are not rescheduling. It's a hit or miss :)
