Hi guyss, need your advice! So, I am having troubles getting an appointment from the website, at this point i think i would never get one. But I’m planning to visit the George V store and ask if there are any availabilities.

How would you guys recommend me asking this to the person at the store in charge of appointments? Do I go straight to the point and ask? or do i need to browse around the shoes / accessories section first and then ask?

Tbh, i just dont have the budget to spend on anything else right now, so i was just really hoping to get a bag (hopefully a quota bag, fingers crossed haha) without any prespend.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the responses!

I would suggest visiting FSH vs. George V if you can't get a lottery appt. George V is a smaller store and accommodates very few walk-in's compared to FSH/Sevres. Just to manage expectations for a walk-in appointment without French purchase history I think it is highly unlikely that you will be offered a QB. No harm in trying but I think it is a long shot. Getting a non QB is much more feasible with a walk-in appointment. If there is a non QB that you are interested in then try for the QB and when asked if there are any other bags you are interested in you could mention the nonQB as an option. Alternatively you could try for a QB and say no to other bags and if they tell you no B/K then say what about this nonQB?

Best of luck!

The online appointment is a lottery. It's not troubles, it's just chance.
Why GV and not FSH? FSH is much bigger with more appointments, more stock, and more cancellations and no-shows.

Just be nice and ask if there are any cancellations. If you don't have anything you want to buy, might as well go straight to the point :) Browsing without buying just gets some SA's hopes up for no reason.....

I got a Birkin without an appt last month (the full story is a few pages back). I just went to the leather desk and said something like, "I didn't manage to secure an appointment online yesterday, but I was wondering whether anyone is available to talk about bags?" The first time (at FSH) I got a flat "no" and was told to apply online. I asked if it was worth waiting to see if there were any cancellations; the receptionist said I was welcome to, but three people were already doing the same, so I left. The second day (Sevres) I got another, more direct "no". I didn't push any further because the guy I was speaking to had just finished talking to some difficult customers so figured he wouldn't be in the mood to accommodate even if he could! The third day I was asked which bag I was looking for, and told to stop by the desk to check for cancellations before I left. A few minutes later I was told there was an opening and the rest is history!

I didn't really have the budget to spend any more money, so decided it wasn't worth "playing the game" (not that I had any idea how to do that anyway!) and just went in for the kill. It took a few days but it paid off!

Hello all,
I had no luck at Hermes in Paris for appointment or walk in. I am flying out tomorrow and was wondering if anyone got any offer of bags at the CDG airport? I will try but would love to hear any successful stories for hope! Also, Denmark airport. Thanks!

I think @Genepi has had good luck at CDG. You can do a search or perhaps she will chime in here :)
good luck!

Yes, they have bags, and the new store is much larger and more well stocked. Sevres leather SA I worked with even claims they get more shipments than sevres and George v, but not sure if that’s true or not. You may have to spend a little though. Not sure Re Denmark airport, but they definitely have bags at Heathrow. I saw a guy pick up a black Picotin and he didn’t seem to buy anything else..

Two clarification questions:

1. You can apply any time between 10:30 and 6:30 and have an equal shot at getting an appointment, right? No need to apply right at 10:30?

2. It’s typical to submit the request then be returned to the home screen for appointment requests, right? There is no “thank for submitting” confirmation page or email?

You don't need an SA. Just go to the register and tell them you need to pick up an online order and do a return/repurchase for your VAT refund. I've done this several times. It's not a big deal.
May I know if you did this at FSH? I had a chat with a Hermes SA at Bordeaux today and she said it’s impossible to do a refund for an online order and repurchase at Paris store. Not sure if this true ☹️ I can only find the item I want online and I would like to get VAT refund.

Seeking Advice:

My partner and I first went to Sevres on Monday (which was on the only store open on this public holiday) and was told there were no leather appointment availabilities. We purchased a watch with an SA, but after asking her about leather appointment availabilities, she said no (after learning we were interest in B/Ks).

On the second day, we went to FSH and lined up before they opened. We purchased RTW and a pair of shoes, and had a pretty great conversation with the SA (at least we thought so). When we asked him about possibility of leather appointment, he said there's nothing he can do, and that we must go to the leather appointment desk. We then purchased some other smaller things with another SA, who also said no appointment. After FSH, we went to Sevres again, and the leather desk said no appointments available, and encouraged us to apply online.

On the third day, we went to the George V store and purchased a small wallet, and when we asked the SA + leather desk, no appointments again. We went to Sevres store and were told no appointments, so we waited about 3 hours to see if they could squeeze us in, and no luck. Tried FSH again and bought a charm, again no luck...

In total, we spent ~12k euros. It seems like purchase history doesn't matter? All the SAs we purchased items with saw our purchase history and we have been declined each time. We were very polite when we asked for availabilities and we dressed appropriately.

Any advice? We're here until Saturday morning, so we have 2 more days. We will keep trying the lottery appointment every day. I have been wanting a B/K for years, so if there's anything else we can try, would greatly appreciate the advice! Thank you all!!

in my experience, unless you can obtain a lottery appt, the average clients purchase history does not matter in any h boutique in Paris. This is because I have been told that the sales goals are structured differently, and SAs do not work on commission. This was not the case years ago or even during a slow period when no one was shopping during Covid SIP. But, demand is much higher now. Some who have relationships with paris SAs have also reported no luck with bags. So few have posted successful outcomes based on spend or charm that I personally would advise clients to build a profile history of purchases with their home store. (of course the Paris H boutiques do have many unique and beautiful items other than bags). I do purchase with SAs from my home store and FSH, but I also shop vintage reseller in Paris or elsewhere.

Hi I have had really good luck at the CDG airport in the past. I did not have the chance to shop on my most recent visit. The airport stores may have Evelyne's, Picotins, Bolide, Roulis and every once in a blue moon they may get a Constance. I would not start off asking for a bag- customer after customer does this and the default answer is no. If you have other things that you are looking for engage and ask about those items.

Last time I got an Evelyne TPM and a 70 silk scarf. The great thing about getting bags at the airport is they are cheaper by ~10% than in Paris as you get the full tax benefit and you don't have to worry about Global Blue taking it' fees and currency exchanges.
