I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

It was alarming. I took some videos of the scene and the fire but it doesn’t feel right to post them or any screenshots here. The majority of protesters were in the road acting normally but there were a number of individuals with face coverings on the edges looking for trouble, banging the iron door etc. The security team made us feel very safe and I was very grateful for them. Customers can take them for granted but they do a brilliant job every day.
Thanks for sharing this experience. Would feel very dichotomous to be trying to buy EUR10k bags while people are pounding at the iron gates on the door.

Modern day "let them eat cake"

Just coming to the end of my Paris journey - I applied every day for 5 days and sadly nothing (not even a rejection email!). However I visited both FSH and Sevres and that was an experience in itself! I was just blown away by the size of the stores, how much stock they had and the displays! There were some lovely SAs who helped me with fashion jewellery and I will be back in a few months to try again.

I did just get in to Sevres before a protest began outside though and was very glad for the security team who closed the gates to stop anyone from coming through (people did try!), when we were able to exit several bus shelters had been smashed and pallets set on fire outside the store.
its strange that you didn't receive an e-mail, did you confirm your applications (by opening the link that you receive in e-mail right after applying online)?

Yes I did receive the “confirmation” email after submitting my request, which I opened and clicked on the link. I saw a few pages back that someone else had not consistently received a rejection, and I just figured it might have been a “no response is also a response” situation.

OMGosh thank goodness for the security team and you were safe. I was sadden to hear of the situation. Was hoping things would calm down. I'm suppose to be there in June.

I haven't shared my most recent experience in FSH because it was my hubby who scored the B25 sellier, not me. He and my son arrived in Paris 2 days earlier and he wanted to surprise me with my dream bag. Prior to his score, I gave him a long wish list (after 3 years of pandemic lock down) which included a watch. He didn't manage to get any appointment but after buying all the non-bag items, my son (omg) asked the SA near the jewelry department if they could offer his mum a bag for her belated 50th birthday as they really wanted to surprise me. The SA said he'd need permission from his mgr and then came back shortly with two B25, both sellier and PHW, one in blue navy and the other gold. My husband accepted the gold immediately after just peeping at the handles. It was Dec last year and the store was super crowded with many pairs of eyes watching him. I know I'm very lucky to have scored all my quota bags in FSH but my shopping experience this time at FSH was not as great as before. I think it could be because of the following reasons: Christmas (everyone was buying gifts - you even need to queue at the shoe dept and there were so little SLG), travelling restrictions were lifted, the low euros, Brexit, so the chances of successful scoring were super low. I scored my K25 in Dec 2019 without any pre purchase even though the store was crowded. I had more pleasant experience shopping in Lyon and Aix-en-Provence last Dec where I was offered non quota bags (24/24 mini, pico 18 both in beton n ghw and micro daisy pico) without any appointment nor pre purchases. My conclusion is that unless you only want a quota bag, you're better off trying your luck outside Paris. Hubby just bought a GP 30 and Halzan 25 together with 1 pegasus and 2 rodeos from Zurich in early March by just walking in and asked.
Sharing two of my fav quota bags from FSH with you and sprinkling all the H fairy dust on you

If he isn't already taken, your son will make a woman VERY VERY VERY happy one day

Hello all, does the Hermes stores in Paris need your actual passports to purchase or can it be a photo from your phone? Asking because I would like to leave my passport at hotel and don’t really want to carry our actual passports around. Also, if you know the answer for Barcelona too would appreciate it. Thanks.

In my experience, they require the actual passport as do many other shops.
