I totally agree. Many SAs are very snobby and they would look at you from top to bottom and size you up (very obviously) when you enter the store.
I'm Asian American and I think this has been a huge disadvantage for me while shopping in paris.... prob due to the bad rep of Chinese resellers. (Not sure if this played any part of not getting bag offer)

While shopping at Chanel I witness this first hand. Two Asian women (dressed more casually) inquired about classic flaps and the SA didn't even bother to ask which colors or check her phone. SA said there weren't any classics bags available and added them on WhatsApp. I know that is a big fat lie because I was literally shown a couple of classic flaps and waiting to pay for mine!

It's so frustrating to see SA discriminating people whether it be ethnicity or how they dress... smh...
Totally feeling this right now. After 7 days trying for a leather appointment finally got one today afternoon and it was far from the experience I had hoped for. The SA I was assigned with was giving off dismissive vibes from the get go and immediately I got the feeling that she was not interested in selling us anything. Others around us were asked about drinks and given and she didn’t offer us anything during the whole appointment whereas others around us were. Even when my husband bought a China set the day before the lady sat us down and offered us something. I know this might not seem like a big thing and I really didn’t even care for a drink but it really was just showing how she did not respect us.

She asked me what I wanted straight out and I asked for a B 25 or K 25 in neutrals preferred with GHW. She came back in a few mins and said nothing is available. She asked if I’d like to see anything else, I said a Constance and she immediately said not available as she checked. No lindys available also. So then I asked about picotins in neutrals of my desired colours with GHW and she brought out a rouge h GHW and caban with phw. Weren’t really me, she only had bolide 27 and herbag.

Didn’t end up buying anything as nothing really caught my eye of what I was offered.

My DH pointed out that a table near to us was offered like 3 K’s and a B just as we were finishing our appointment though! To say the least, he was not impressed at all.

The whole experience with the SA left a sour taste in my mouth and just feeling bit off about the whole thing. Dissapointing FSH experience.

Yes! I just was offered a bag by my local SA and she handed me her phone to change my address since I just moved. In my profile I saw “b: 0 k: 1 c: 0” and then she said “so you did get one Kelly this year that’s it, that’s good we will put this new bag under your profile then”
Yes, they can see how many bags you have at some stores in the Us. Some of them even only say QBs 1 - not specific of which one. But it doesn’t say when or where you got it from. Some never merge/ update from purchases made overseas. Like in my case it simply doesn’t show.

I also find it unacceptable it’s not like you’ve asked for a quota bag and we know they always have bags… I mean why accept people for a leather appointment if they have nothing to sell… maybe it was because you limited the search to « minis »
I feel bad for you but wanted to let you know that I’m Asian too (French of chinese origin) and never felt discriminated. However, my SA told me that about 90% (or 95%) of the bags purchased at FSH of other Paris stores were being sold immediately after their purchase, that’s why SA are trained to say no to people they feel they are resellers

Glad to hear this is not the norm! After hearing that there weren't any minis, I did broaden my inquiry and she said there weren't any in any size for b/k/c and lindy, not even the bigger 24/24.

Your comment on screening for resellers resonates with me. Since I was a new Hermes customer, I was hyper aware of myself during my leather appointment....I didn't want to do or say anything during the appointment that would suggest to the SA i would resell anything (I am not a reseller). I did make purchases my first day on this trip, so hopefully that helped. While my SA was looking for bags, I noticed there were a camera pointing down at my appointment table...not sure if other tables at FSH had cameras at their tables, but it made me so paranoid that I was being observed for reseller behavior. Needless to say, I didn't touch my phone at all during the wait and made every effort to make sure I wasn't displaying a RBF (resting b**** face)! It wasn't until my SA asked me if I wanted to take photos in the private room, that my cell phone came out! :P

On a side note, the bag I was offered matched the color of the sweater I was wearing that day...I wonder if they were checking out the way I dressed to help pick the color for my offer...
Oh wow! I didn't even notice the cameras! I was worried about being mistaken as a reseller so I actually wore the items that's in my purchase history to the appointment (mini lindy and hermes rings) May I ask what you got offered? Happy to hear that you had success!

Sorry to hear about this... I wonder if we had gotten the same SA? (mine was a younger asian female). It's especially disappointing because prior to my trip I've been reading this forum for weeks, and seeing all the success stories (even walk-ins) gave me a lot of hope.

I’m sorry to read about your experience too :( I think we might have got the same SA. Mine was a younger Asian female also, long lashes. Had a lot of hope also and felt super lucky scoring an appointment online. Don’t know where it went wrong as I was polite and genuinely keen to buy something even a cute Picotin in neutrals if b & k not available but kind of surprised that the only ones in stock were the ones she brought out. I actually liked the herbag she brought out more than I thought but said could you give me a minute to think and ask my husband what he thinks as he was just browsing around the corner and she blatantly pretty much said no and that appointments times are limited or that she has no time or something along those lines. I was speechless lol. I said okay no problem. And thanked her for her time. Then she said she’ll prepare it and leave it in my name and if I wanted it to request it at the front cashier.

My local SA showed me her phone with my profile in it and I could see my FSH Kelly I got in March was on there. I think it is all linked now…

My SA told me that he could also see my QB purchase in Paris. His store manager is the one who has access to the info. I am in the US.

said “so you did get one Kelly this year

mine was a younger asian female).

My experience with my FSH SA (a younger Asian) has been more like @gi201, and I am Asian too. I am not a VIP, and my spend at FSH is minimal (I’m a RTW client, even before bags, and it’s hard to get my size). My profile is the same ID in my local store and FSH, and I do not have more than one profile. All one can do is follow the advice of their own SAs.

It’s my uneducated guess that a non leather FSH SA may be limited in the number of QBs that she can offer in a day which might explain why some prospective clients are offered and some are not. My local SA has told me that dedicated leather SAs can offer far more QBs than those in other departments, and I believe him. I also believe from my own personal experience that if an FSH or local SA wishes to offer more than 2 QBs a year total, a way can definitely be found.

A dear friend who is a VIP in our local store (US flagship) did get 3QBs (some limited edition) locally this year. I do believe for most people that a QB offer from one’s local store is generally more certain. But, if one really only wants QBs, amd believes their visit is a failure without this type of offer, it will be difficult to have a good relationship at FSH. JMO and YMMV.

ETA: the difference in my case may be due to the fact that I would like to buy more RTW, particularly runway pieces that I have not seen in my local US flagship. This is the case regardless of any QB offer. RTW at FSH is considerably more varied and far less expensive than in the US.

I've found when checking out in FSH 4 profiles with my name (it's unique and managed to spot it was all me). One was FSH, one from Deauville, one George V but the last one unknown - wasn't able to check (it would most likely be London and Warsaw). It's all Europe so not sure this is helpful.

Hi! 3 options: you have an SA in Paris who can schedule an appointment at your own convenience / you apply online any day of the week (except Sunday) for an appointment the next day / you walk in stores and ask for any cancelations and possible appointment. I'm not sure what you mean exactly by scoring an appointment before you actually go, but online system is for next day appointment. You can't apply 2 months in advance.
Do you know by chance, if to get one leather appointment, will it be possible to set appointments with that SA directly (not via system) or it should be more than one appointment initially ?
