I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Head back about ten pages and start reading. Everyone is sharing their experiences.

Best of luck with your trip and just don’t get your heart set on a bag. Enjoy Paris!
Just wanted to give a follow up. Have been in Paris for 5 days. No appointment through the lottery despite multiple attempts. The FSH store is truly disappointing in my opinion—they let you in but then you just fend for yourself and hope to make eye contact. I definitely saw ppl getting bags and offers of bags. I was told you need an appointment for any bag-period. I was also told there is almost no stalk (personally I think this to be a standard line by the SAs).
One word of advice when the SAs say they are checking other stores in Paris for whatever item you are looking for, and then tell you ‘sorry no store in Paris has XYZ item.’ Do not believe this line/—even though it might be a hassle go check for yourself. I’ve been misinformed twice by FSH SAs only to literally find exactly what I was looking for at the other 2 stores. Definitely would’ve loved to score a bag (not necessarily a QB) but loving my experience overall :)

Agreed, and this doesn't only apply to Hermes. Same thing been happening to me at Chanel and Cartier...I suspect the SA's just don't have the time of the day to deal with tourists asking for items that are available in another boutique and just want to make a quick sale. Glad you had a wonderful shopping though :amuse:

Actually my long time SA at FSH told me that they really can't check the stock of bags at the other two stores. She found me what I wanted in Lyon (a non-QB) which I declined to have her bring to Paris for me and then when I stopped into Sevres that afternoon and had a good conversation with an SA there, he actually offered me that bag when I mentioned I couldn't find one at FSH. My SA did find me the SLG I wanted at the Sevres store and had them set it aside for me. But yes if you have the time to hit up all three stores it could be worth it. And there is always the long shot that you will establish a rapport with an SA and actually get a bag.

Perhaps it’s bc I’m a novice or perhaps it’s the time of year—I’ve been to 3 boutiques (2 in Paris and 1 outside Paris) they’ve all told me ‘no bags are available.’ Not even a Her bag. This was even after I established a spend history at the George V store (obviously not 1:1 for a QB, but definitely enough for a Her bag). It’s disappointing for sure since I’ve no Hermes story in my state and I’ve had haphazard spends in Los Angeles and Vegas—-I’ve been the most consistent at Hermes.com USA :)
I must say Chanel in Paris has been wonderful for me-I’d much rather get a Kelly but a classic flap is also lookin real good right now.

in Paris for 7 days and applied for the online appt daily with no luck, only got rejection emails! Tried to ask instore at FSH for just an Herbag but no luck too..even after spending a few grand on accessories and shoes. It’s madness. SA said the low-stock situation on bags did indeed get worse after Covid. ..
Exact same experience I’ve had, still in Paris for a few days longer-hoping for the best—but enjoying the experience also.

Same same. SAs were very nice at FSH were I bought silks and a scarf ring. No appointment - will try a few highly recommended vintage stores today to snatch a nice bag :) Paris is a dream, even when traveling alone :)

I just returned from Paris and was offered the following bags:

Mini Lindy — Pass
Mini Bolide — Pass
Mini Evelyne — Pass
B/K/C — Yes

I stopped sharing the specifics of my quota bag purchases this year because people are acting more aggressive when it comes to these elusive handbags. I am posting this info here so that fellow TPFers know that despite the inventory shortages and difficulties in securing an online leather appointment, it is still remotely possible, although highly improbable, to be offered a bag without a leather appointment.

I traveled with a friend on this trip instead of DH. My friend was told by all three boutiques that they could not offer any handbags, even non-quota bags, without a leather appointment.

Good luck to all and enjoy your time in Paris!

Congratulations - it's always a great feeling to bring back such a fabulous 'souvenir' from Paris!
Can I please ask which of the boutiques you were successful in?

Hello, I was offered bags without a leather appointment when I was in Paris in May with DH, September during Fashion Week, and November during a Business and Extended Girls Trip. Non-quota bags were offered at all 3 locations and quota bags were offered at Sevres. I do have a spending history at all 3 boutiques and so does my friend who traveled with me on my most recent trip to Paris, however, she wasn’t successful in obtaining any bags — quota or non-quota. Hope this helps and good luck!

Thank you! I also was able to buy a quota bag in May, without a leather appointment. However, I was unsuccessful (even after a few spends!) in September, when I went to Paris to celebrate a big birthday. I believe you just need the Hermes Angels to smile on you

Congratulations! :yahoo:I am so happy for you! I agree that there are ways to a coveted bag without an appointment, but that they are rare. Asking for the name of ones SA or asking for all of your details will not replicate your personal experience for another.

if people are being unpleasant or aggressive, you can report the posts or private messages as per @papertiger and other mods. If it’s a private message, hit report on the lower left of the post. Don’t leave the conversation, bc that will erase the posts
