I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

So you don’t think that the personal shoppers have insiders at H?
These recent posts are all news to me… and I can’t imagine how else they can guarantee appointments at FSH, unless they know employees who can give them a back door (figuratively), as I can’t imagine anyone being able to manipulate the online lottery.

This development is shocking and disappointing to me - even worse than H.com bots. I’m sure they’ll share a cut of the revenue to the H employee who lets them in, but I’m surprised H management doesn’t catch on quick (they only need to hire the personal shoppers incognito and monitor how their clients get served in store… catching the offending employee redhanded )

Can someone share where exactly the leather appointment desk of FSH/ Sevres is located?

FSH: Walk straight ahead when you enter, and about 2/3 of the way through the store the appointment desk is between the register and SLG department.

Sevres: Go downstairs, make a right at the base of the stairway and the appointment desk is to your right.

I don’t think it’s possible for online appts to be sold. You can’t change the identity of the person who secured the appointment.

Thank you. After receiving some of your comments about the risks of getting instant eurostar tickets, I decide to go Paris to try my luck for walkin appt (of course I'll do the online appt before going).

In fact she laughed in my face and said there are never cancellations… ever.
‘Birkin and Kelly without appointment are impossible’.
What pisses me off the most is this! I don't care if they have bags and don't want to sell them to me. But I can't stand these prefabricated speeches now, years after years!! Do they assume that all the clients are some kind of newbies in the H game? Don't they know that it's 2022, internet, social media era, and people share more than ever?! Honestly, next time I visit a store, if I get a straight "no", it's fine, but if I hear something like this... I'll turn into a Hulk:sick::cursing:

On another note... About this "paying 2k to get an appointment"... Wow!! So some H people used to make money by securing and selling bags to resellers/personal shoppers, they got busted, some got fired... Now they make money just by giving appointments! Smart!!:graucho: Haha! I know they still ease the process of getting bags for some personal shoppers, in exchange for money... But the appointments...
OK! I met someone who works at the HQ a few months ago. I didn't want to "use" her until now... But now I gotta ask!

My husband was mind blown by the way you get treated by some staff in store. Of course many are lovely and it will keep me coming back… but the lady who lied to my face- is a reason a lot of people (including my friends) now only go to resellers.
I can understand if a customer is being rude or pushy… but I am so patient and polite. So it was definitely uncalled for.

Apparently we (and by we I mean me) need a guide on how to get service at a Hermes in Paris. I’m apparently not assertive like some people who accost SAs that are working with other customers, but I waited ages in a nearly empty store (arrived around 5:45pm) and was never attended to, despite having spoken to someone when I walked in about the things I was looking for to get directed appropriately. I know you have to wait for a SA to become available, but what did I do wrong if I waited an hour without assistance, and how can I actually not fail in seeing items other than leather goods if I come back to Paris again?

IMO I really don't think it is a lottery. I think they pick who gets the appointments.

I think it is both. when I picked up my SO, I got the appointment on the day I planned to go in. Later I found out I didn’t need it. Nevertheless i don’t it is coincidental since I have applied before but never got one despite of extensive purchases over a decade.

Just got back from Paris less than a week ago. Went to FSH and Sevres. I had no appointment. I just wanted to look and if there was something that was available that I like, then I will purchase it. That is how I want to roll when I travel. That way, I don't get disappointed or frustrated.....and get to enjoy the other beautiful experiences fully. I went to FSH first on a weekday. It was not busy. There were lots of SAs available to help you out. But since I just wanted to look and nothing really caught my eye, I did not ask about anything nor did I purchase anything.

I went to Sevres too. But this time it is on a weekend that I went. Same plan---just to look around.....and eat in the cafe as I was already starving, as I have not eaten anything yet since I woke up in the morning, because I was rushing to do some things. The server in the cafe and everyone in Sevres were nice and polite. Until I finally decided to approach this certain staff (who was the only available one at that time) to help me with some shoes that caught my eye downstairs while I was browsing after eating. It was the first time I saw her in the store. She was okay initially. Until she had to work and actually help me out! She acted like she was doing me a huge favor by showing me the different types of shoes that I didn't ask for and tried to sell it to me (since she said that what I wanted were not available). Then she rolled her eyes too when I asked her questions and made sarcastic remarks. I remained polite and civilized. I thanked her for helping me and walked away. I wouldn't let something like that ruin my day. After all, my SA in H in the US is amazing (and I prefer her to earn the commission if possible). Also, I was able to buy other goodies from Galeries Lafayette and Dior (both SAs were very helpful and amazing too) prior to that experience, so not buying from someone like that is definitely a no-brainer and not something I would regret most definitely!

After this, I went back to FSH to see if they had the shoes that I saw in Sevres. Or if they had other ones that would catch my eye too. The SA was helpful and nice but it was super busy as it was a weekend and there was nothing available in my size.

The day I was leaving for another European country, I went to the airport early (as I always do when travelling). I saw H in CDG (Paris airport). Again, going in with no hopes or expectations of purchasing a bag or anything in particular.....as I know that the demand is bigger than the supply (than ever before!) I went in. There, I met a kind, polite, friendly, and helpful SA. I bought a twilly and a piece of silver jewelry. As we were chatting and I was opening my bag to pay, she saw my other "small H bag" and I had "complained" about that "mini-H bag" that I brought with me too during the trip! :-s I told her that while I love using it for quick errands, I now truly realize that it's really too small for travel..and that a bigger bag obviously would work for me! (and she saw how packed my shoulder bag was) She said that she understands because she has H mini bags too and that while they are good for quick errands they barely fit anything for travel (this is based from her experience too. If you prefer mini-bags and it fits your lifestyle, I respect that opinion as well of course..buy what you like/need), and that "she had three Evelynes (29) available for purchase in the back (all in neutral colors), but she can only bring out one, and that I was the first one to view it as it was never opened before".

Initially, I was hoping for a "loud color". But as with all H bags, never say never until you see it in person
I took home the Etoupe with me and was so delighted

That is my H Paris story. I am glad how it turned out to be despite of the "little bumps" along the way. Hope yours will be a delightful experience too!
