I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Agree, especially re: poor H employees. I just read the article. I think it's quite sad and pathetic that she (or anyone for that matter) would spend their time in Paris hanging out at FSH or other H stores all day just to get an appointment. There are sooo many other things to do in Paris, and in life for that matter. And yes, I know she went and did some other things, but H scores seemed to be the main goal. Reading in this article and in other threads, like the "Overheard in H", the extent that people go through to get an H bag is mind boggling to me. I mean good grief! :annoyed: Don't get me wrong - I love my H bags and all, as well as the thrill of FSH, but "scoring", or the the failure to, are first world problems. I could go on and on about how this bugs me, but I'm getting off of my soap box now.
I can’t agree with you more. Pls also don’t get me wrong, I love my Hermes but there are more substantial and constructive things to do. I don’t want to die with emptiness in my heart. If you know what I mean …

I think this is the part that gets me most. There are vvips here who understandably get huge hauls every time, but she claims she’s not and claims she did not present herself as one, and so articles like hers (a) give what I believe are false and misleading hopes of being able to pull 9 leather items from a single trip, (b) encourage this ultra demanding behavior, and (c) with all due respect, take significant inventory from the pool that day for one entitled individual (and teaches others to try and do the same), whereas we here empathize so genuinely and deeply (with such frequency) for our members here who don’t get an appointment, or who are so lucky to score an appointment but come out without any qb’s or other highly coveted bags.

I appreciate the “guides” on that publication so much because they taught me how to score an appointment and what to expect. This article was not that… it was written with the intention to brag (content and tone), gives misguided info, and sets up totally exaggerated expectations (and therefore instore behavior) for readers
Hermes FSH allowed it to happen.

Exactly! Everyone is saying she’s pushy and poor SA for dealing with her, the SA could have easily refused all her requests since she had served her on a previous appointment and know exactly what she have got.
Yup, they rejected a lot of people who were a lot nicer and then granted appointments to this pushy person. How does the brand/store get any confidence….and respect for the system…well, maybe they don’t care as much as they say they do.

I know this is off topic, but it links to this part of the conversation about pushing. A manager of the store in Warsaw was fired as clients got to the stage where any hint on SM of somebody else getting a bag created drama, aggression to the SAs and escalations to the HQ. I can’t understand what these bags do to people. Everywhere in the world. End of off topic

I actually don't blame FSH. Not even the fact that she was offered many items. Again, good for her. Well... maybe a tiny bit Hermès just because they easily come out with their usual elaborated speech about how things work, limits, quotas, appointments, "no stock", etc... We know these "policies" oh-so well and we know they aren't applied to everybody and well, it's their business, they can run it as they want to. She proudly proved them wrong on this one and exposed that to everybody (maybe without realizing it) I just find that woman's frenzied behavior not very elegant and that's not my standard, especially when it comes to a house like Hermès. This is more like a "Target on Black Friday" attitude to me.
I was offered a QB and several non QBs last week in Bordeaux. I turned down the QB because the combo was not for me but did buy 2 non QBs. The SA first had to ask the store manager (since the store is pretty small, I guess they want to keep some stock for other clients. At least, that was my immediate thought, but maybe that's not the reason. Maybe I'm too considerate and empathetic of other clients:angel: ) and he agreed. I was very pleased and satisfied. Not for a second I imagined coming back the next day and ask for more.
Just a difference of consumer habits I guess. Distinguished VS mass.

100%. I don’t shop on Black Friday either

but I also have no wish list, no idea what I want next.

I trust my SAs who know what I have already and my taste.

FSH must have had a reason for allowing this behavior;
no doubt part of their big brand social media strategy
i suppose it feeds the new image, IDK

@aishaaa89 , I think your situation of being offered three bags was entirely different. You were offered more than one bag in a single appt. i was also offered a non QB after my 25k, and I feel when this is done, it is at the discretion of the SA and SM. It is not like taking multiple appt slots which deprive others of an opportunity.

So many members have had multiple appointments during paris trip, even after receiving a QB some will go back with spouse appointment to get something else. Many including me have bought multiple bags also during an appointment, my last trip i was offered K25, constance and mini lindy and have got them all. The only reason this article triggered everyone is that its from a famous blog writer and because lately alot of us are not lucky to get an appointment, if it was any other member it would have been fine.
I agree with your point!! A lot of people leverage their marital status to double their chances of getting 1 or more multiple bags. It’s just another way of gaming the system and takes away from others. That article was cringe, but some folks here don’t have clean hands either. (I’m not upset or complaining)

She's buying luxury bags, it's really not a big deal. No need to call someone pushy or greedy for purchasing bags that they love. This is a forum for discussing our love for Hermes! If anything, I blame H for allowing some people to get multiple offers and others nothing.

I see this point too.

All of these opinions and feelings must be exactly why Hermes continues to do things the way they do. Their system elicits feelings, both good and bad, and gets people talking..and wanting!

I really credit that website for having a lot of good info that I’ve learned from, but this author’s experience seemed a bit off to me.

This lady purports to have never been to FSH, so who knows how she managed to get such preferential treatment and buy so many bags both QBs and non-QBs (during both walk-in appointments in the space of a few days during Fashion week).

I guess the story reinforces this: when the SA says ‘no stock due to it being Fashion Week/August holidays/no deliveries today etc.’, it really just means ‘no stock for you’.

I didn’t get any magical feelings from her experience. Rather I found this writer to be pushy and greedy. …Whatever advice she imparted, I’d take with a grain of salt.

I mean she does write for ********. I am sure there’s some strings pulled.

I read the introduction and nearly vomited in my mouth. Someone's very egotistical and an over-indulgent parent and it really comes off in the writing.

I for one got annoyed at the authors tone in writing. She (and hence her daughter) came across as extremely entitled and like they feel they are better than others. Such as her writing about how clever her daughter is and her stating that ”Together our passion for bags and all things fashion is unrivaled.” It is difficult to feel any joy at her success after such an introduction.

I will not dispute the quality of their info (+/-), but I am by no means a fan, having been personally (and verifiably) plagiarized by them (and by “them” I mean the website, not this particular author). Those guides you like? At least one was a direct ripoff of mine.

They trade on getting themselves confused with PurseBlog (hence the very-similar sounding names), among some other unsavory practices, and I’m sure at least a sizeable amount of their information comes from here.

With regards to the article, I don’t think this author mentioning that they are a “writer” made any difference in whatever FSH experience they wrote about (I personally only check the website to see if they have stolen my work again). I’m tempted to read it just to know what is being discussed, but you don’t have to take everything written from a ‘personal’ perspective at face value. It sounds like they’ve left something important out here.

You know what would help? Stop giving them your attention (or at least take what they write with a grain of salt). PurseBlog is the original and still by far the best! Is there something you’d like to see? My DMs are always open for article suggestions (working on several right now).

Oh, and for the record - I try to write as inclusively as possible. I dont remember ever writing about a personal shopping experience (Maybe? BUT I did write a real Paris Shopping Guide for y’all - nearly fell out of my chair when I saw they recently used a similar title but at least the content is completely different). So far my worst offenses seem to be misspellings (autocorrect, my forever nemesis, plus the H website doesnt always use accents). If you ever don’t like something I have written and/or have a useful suggestion, please DM me.

Now, back to Paris shopping! Good luck to everyone heading over there!

Hi all! I am just wondering - I would like to go check out some shoes and accessories (and assuming I won’t be able to score a leather appointment anyway as I only have one free day in Paris), if I got to FSH 15min before opening, do you think I’ll be able to get helped right away with minimal wait? (Really would like to avoid waiting so I can use the time to do other things in Paris!) or should I do 30min before opening?
