I honestly thought the same thing, that once I had a purchase history, I was able to score an appointment.

I was disappointed bc I read so many stories about people scoring their dream bag, but I am very excited about the Geta.
Agree with @smoothsailor . plenty of posts here indicate they got an appt , but were not offered a QB.

And, they didn’t have your good fortune either.

I believe one post here famously stated that she and her gf spent 80K euro in purchase history,

They either failed to get an appt, or got an appt, but no BKC offer.

ETA: H may not have a particular QB spec currently, but there are any number of reasons why one person, not another, is offered a bag. It may simply be easier to say sold out.

Hi all, would like to know how early in advance do you think i should inform my SA about my travelling plans to Paris? our previous time, i was told to email her before. But since i need to settle some travel arrangement, i need to know when she is able to see me. shed some light pls? thanks so much.

Yes every H experience at FSH is different.

This story blew my mind. My friend scored an appt at FSH and wanted to buy QBs and other bags. SA said sorry no bags. She asked for any bag. SA brought out a couple of less expensive bags in diff colors. She took both and asked if there was anything else. SA brought out more. She said yes to some, no to others and asked if there are other bags. SA spoke with SM and retuned with other bags and QB. At this point 2 SAs were assisting. Asked if they had exotics and exotic QBs were offered. She showed me pics and bags ranged from Evie, Picos, to go wallets, Roulis, Lindy, Constance, Bolide, Bs/Ks in leather, lizard and alligator. Spent $200k+. No profile and first time shopping H. This is not the norm of course but it happens.
Unlike the Purse bop story, your friend did score an appointment. And they first said they had nothing. She had many bags offered right away, during 2 walk-ins...

As someone not lucky enough to live in France , I'm very, very, very grateful to locals like you who show extra patience and don't go in and sweep up bags every week just because you can, leaving inventory (QBs and NQBs) for us travelers so we can get an extra special memory to remember our trips to your beautiful country by.
I was in Paris 2 weeks ago, they CAN NOT see your USA purchase profile and history. It was explained to me by my SA how this is beneficial to us as they can’t see the last time and how many QBs we have purchased this year.
I had to create a new profile in Paris and was able to purchase a Birkin there, although I recently had just bought another QB in the USA (my home store).
So on one hand I was thanked, as a local, for playing the game of appointments, not harassing my SAs here, being patient and not sweeping up bags so travelers can enjoy their H time in Paris... And on the other hand, some travelers sweep up bags here, while they already had some in their home country. And I still don't in my own city... Mixed feelings here...
I heard that the policy regarding the possibility for SAs to see purchase history from other countries will change... For the sake of all the local people, and any people from anywhere who didn't get any QB yet, I kinda hope it will:angel:

I read somewhere on here that an SA said FSH and George V caters mostly to tourists and that the Sèvres store is supposed to be mostly for locals because they know how French people use H bags, and so they stock them accordingly. Don’t know how accurate that info is, though :D

Incredible. Why did this lady (and her daughter) need to buy so many bags all at once? And they basically lied when they first tried and got a walk-in appt, then once they’d already got a bunch of QBs and non-QBs from this appt they then tried AGAIN for a second appt to buy more (and succeeded)?? Many who are lucky enough to get an appt are told ‘no stock’ and yet these 2 were showered with multiple offers of the most popular styles and were allowed to buy so many! Was the SA or Hermès FSH having a fire sale on those 2 days?

I also found it annoying how the writer kept saying ‘she flipped for this bag’, ‘I did not flip for it’. No idea what this means but to me it just sounds like ‘flipping for profit’, which would be fitting given how many bags they hoarded. It probably isn’t what she meant, but annoying nonetheless.
I didn’t get any magical feelings from her experience. Rather I found this writer to be pushy and greedy. She takes a k25 in retourne for her daughter, a mini c in rs for her and two mini evies at the first appt. They go back for multiple tries for another leather appointment and even note they were willing to wait all day to get serviced by the sa who helped them get bags days before. They then get offered additional coveted bags and wind up taking home another mini evie and a kelly pochette. So many stories of clients who can’t even get one bag offer or even a coveted non qb. This isn’t even someone who is a vip. imo and others have said there’s more to this story. Whatever advice she imparted, I’d take with a grain of salt.

IMO, that's how it's ended-up rather than how it's supposed to be.

I would say about a month in advance to secure the appointment date and time and perhaps a week or so in advance to ask if they can reserve any other items for you (shoes, RTW, belts, whatever else) for you to see during your appointment.

This is just my experience I know other folks with SAs in paris arrange appointments a couple months in advance or, if they have flexible dates, work around the SAs schedule.

I think we don’t know all the story. For sure she must have said something to Miss Faubourg.
When I read the article honesty I was almost upset. They are local peoples Parisians how aren’t able to get an appointment being told going to province and that woman don’t score one but two appointments.
I personally think that Sèvres and George are being more strict instead of FSH.. I have the impression that FSH do « what » they want like they were the boss. The attitude of that boutique it is not normal I don’t think Axel Dumas would approve he look like a « simple » men.

True. A few years ago, I had my QBs from FSH. Now I feel more comfortable when I'm with my SA at Sèvres. The relationship is more intimate. I completely understand that FSH and George V might be "more tourists oriented".

I think in general Sèvres is geared towards locals. It also has the easiest parking access out of all boutiques. Though, I definitely saw a change this summer with the huge influx of tourists after the Covid restrictions. I have found that one of the best way to tell whether a store in France is geared towards locals vs tourists is the size of the silver jewelry section. In France, chaîne d’ancre and farandole pièces are like Tiffany in the US. Provincial stores have only a small amount of gold pieces, but Sèvres this summer has largely expanded the amount of glass cases dedicated to gold.

I mean she does write for ********. I am sure there’s some strings pulled.

That's horrible! I'm so sorry to hear of your (and @rsen's experience - although the Geta is a wonderful bag!!!)

I feel so bad for our community here who made it all the way to Paris and (a) didn't get an appointment or (b) didn't get anything from an appointment. What a rollercoaster ride. We were lucky to get an appointment at Sevres earlier this year after a very serious effort (and visting 9 of the French boutiques), but did not get a QB there

And then there's this ******** article, where the author managed to get 2 walk-in appointments and 8? 9? leather items, including 1 K, 1 mini C, 1 KP, 3 (3!) mini evies, and others (with a part 2 article coming!). All during Fashion Week.
After reading that article it only confirms my opinion about the brilliant Hermes marketing techniques and that we are the poor fools who run after the brand. Bags and appointments are always available for those people Hermes want to sell to. Look at the number of people reading the article and discussing it.

I find it super embarrassing to the brand and to the individuals involved. The pure gluttony of taking so many bags at once and demanding bags she had already declined only to decline them again. I don’t know, put a real sour taste in my mouth especially toward miss faubourg who I had always felt warm toward. Just all seems in really poor taste. Can’t imagine being a “nobody” who happened to have their own appointment that day but got turned away empty handed.
