I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

But this shows that your anger is not about “being lied to” but rather just about leaving without a bag. Are you saying you’d be less upset if the SA said to you “yeah we have that exact bag but I’m not selling it to you. Sorry.” ?

Also, let’s pretend that the SAs were incapable of fibbing about bag stock levels. There is not an infinite number of bags in the stock room (and there are far fewer than the number of appointments available) so the first X people would get all the bags and every single person with an afternoon appointment would be truthfully told there are no bags available. Does this make the disappointment less? Do we really think the afternoon people wouldn’t be ranting over wasting their entire day for the appointment and “H should really keep some stock for them!”?

Honestly, FSH can’t win. If the Paris stores really wanted to be “fair” they would stop selling coveted bags to tourists altogether and join the model of the rest of the world which serves local long term returning clients. I suspect they are moving closer to doing this anyway with each passing Karen that complains to them and makes the working atmosphere for these SAs unbearable. (Not talking about you, rather all the stories we hear about public tantrums in the store.)
My anger is about being lied to e.g. no appointments or no bag in stock (during an appointment), yet I have seen people offered one a few mins after me - (dont bother trying to say a cancollation cropped up all of a sudden). If one of them was bold enough to tell me - sorry I don’t like your face, look, profile cos you don’t fit in for us to offer you a bag, I would of course be upset however that might be a reality check to call it a day with the brand.
Secondly, I wish your analysis were the case re how bags are allocated during appointments - however we know that’s not the case it all depends on varying factors.
A customer has a right to complain about a service that is not right or fair and I hate it when I read things that sounds like we have to put up with bad customer service that in itself is an issue. As if the SAS are doing us a favour ! Witch out the customers Hermes wouldn’t exist.
I don’t lose my cool with anyone and smile even when I am irritated perhaps that’s why am letting it out here but it doesnt mean I dont know when something should be called out!
Any sales associate that signs up to work in frontline service would have been trained to withstand some level of discomfort, deal with irate customers etc. it comes with their job( don’t get me wrong I am not condoning unruly behaviour towards them) and that’s what they are paid for to smile, keep cool and be at their very best ( at least I know its part of the requirement for them to get a job).
But I don’t believe they are told to lie in a distasteful manner!

I know my post might not be a popular one but I am actually suprised they have not stopped selling to walk ins that have not purchased anything in the Paris stores. I feel it is a bit of a cirkus surrounding their bag appointments because of people abusing the system. First with the people queing all night before on the street, others selling spots in the que etc. Then with the online request system where people use every passport they can and apply long before they are even in Paris. I think it might be better for them to serve those who are actually in the store shopping and leave it to the SAs to offer clients the possibility to buy popular bags. That could then also mean new clients which they think might be a new good customer.
I doubt this would work considering how many customers they serve in a day- you would still end up with unhappy customers. FSH marketing/selling model in my view is not one for only locals for it to continue to make the amount of profit /revenue they generate it comes from tourist! I might be wrong but having read their annual reports it seems to me that is the case.

Hello,
Does anyone miss that early line up system? hee hee.
My sister and I both purchased B/K when we had to line up early, we were the 1st few in line for 3 days in a roll a few years ago and we both got the bags we wanted (separate days). It was a hassle to wake up a few hours before store opens but we felt more in control of the outcome....
Now, with the registration system, it is more like a lottery.. which needs to be won twice haha. once to get an appointment, then again to get offered a bag.....

p.s. I understood how it felt for those who felt like they were lied to when they got a NO even before they finish their question...There is 1 SA who seemed to somehow HATES ME for no reason, I treat everyone with respect and always friendly. Don't know why, every time I see her there and go up to her, she would sound cold and say no to every thing, not even regular thing like wallets or card holders, she basically do not even seem like she wants to show me items in the display case, like I am asking to see HER own closet haha. But I found another lady there who is nice, so, there is always a balance.
so, hang in there, we hope every no will come with a YES some other visit

I would never queue or stand outside a shop that early lol I prefer my sleep more. I do prefer the online system. I understand everyone’s frustration about numerous attempts to get an appointment as well. however if it wasn’t for the appointment system I doubt I would have ever got a bag from FSH. I’m not rushing to go to Paris until their is more stability with bag supply

I disagree. I’ve never been able to obtain an appointment through the system (over 4 trips to Paris and 28+ attempts) and the one time my husband did he got denied. As a walk in at Sevres I was able to score 2 bags out of two trips to Paris I tried Sevres. Unfortunately they started having 200+ people waiting in the morning que which caused disturbances in the neighborhood, hence why the switched to appointment. Problem is, appointments allow for the entire European region to apply with easy access to cheap and quick flights to make the appointment leading to over 10k requests at FSH alone. So personally I very much miss the morning que.

Hello! My mother and I are planning on a Paris/Europe trip in February 2022 and will try our luck at the appointment system.

My question is, if only one of us gets an appointment, is there a maximum number of bags we are allowed to buy? She and I are probably looking to buy 1-2 bags each (so probably max 4 bags). She’s not interested in B/K/C, but I’d like to try to get a Kelly 25 or 28 or Kelly danse and probably a 24/24 or another picotin. She’s most likely looking for a halzan, Lindy, or jypsiere.

Will we be able to purchase more than one non-quota bag even if one of us gets a leather appointment? Or if I magically get offered a Kelly, will we be able to get another non-quota bag?

The joys of the Hermes game. What works for one person doesn’t work for another. Queues vs walk in vs appointment vs SA relationship - it is down to luck on the day. Like one previous poster said even if you get an appointment their is no guarantee of a bag.
Yes you are correct that those in the European region can apply from home and fly over in time for their appointment. There is no right or wrong answer to this ongoing debate unfortunately.

yes, non quota bag is separate from quota bag, so, you are lucky that your mom is not interested in the quota bag. so, if she gets an appointment, you can join her and have her ask for your bag as well :-)

At least with the que you had a substantially higher opportunity for an appointment.

Oh 100% FSH needs the tourist revenue. There isn't enough in France or even Europe to hit their numbers. That's why they've set it up that way. They need our money, and it's nice for us traveling there to have something magical to look forward to.
