I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

The bag I got in Paris was not on my wishlist . I wanted a B 25 but did not even consider the sellier I got.
I guess I will see how I feel when I get the opportunity to go back to my local store and see my SA. I anyway got my two quota bags this year , so not looking for a new B or K the rest of this year.
In any cases I appreciate a lot my SA .

My SAs across the world know what bags I purchase and where, sometimes I mention it, other times I just carry the bags to the store. This includes SAs in FSH and other stores in Europe and Asia. They cannot see my purchases in their systems. They follow me on IG (and I them) and it helps them narrow down what I already have to streamline their offers. So far I have no problems requesting for specifics specs and I have always been perhaps too honest and have no inclination to use my memory space to keep track of who I told what to. I try to request from my local store first and then FSH but buy whatever I like when I see it. They seem to be very amused that I carry my exotics on the Tube/ bus when I take it, and wear all my H mixed with Chanel/ UNIQLO/ Cos/ Gap RTW. I think being comfortable with who I am is the most relaxing thing.

I think it just depends on the SA (what else is new?). Mine tells me to enjoy trying at Paris FSH if I go and happily shares my excitement about getting bags in other countries. However for sure there are also ones who will not like it when their clients buy elsewhere. We’ve had members who shared experiences of their SA not being happy with them when they buy elsewhere - including overseas or preloved (which my SA is also happy with and found my idea of getting old bags made in my birth year very romantic). So really just depends. I think you probably have the most accurate feeling on how your SA will be based on your relationship with them. And if you don’t know which case it will be, IMO it doesn’t hurt to be safe. You can always come up with other ways to update your wishlist without saying you got a bag in that already.

Paris does tend to get more of a pass given SAs understand the difference in prices and how buying in Paris is an experience in itself. Also if you have a good / strong relationship it is always more likely that they will turn out to be fine with your other purchases. If you are still testing out waters and starting to get a feeling of what your SA is like, or if you already know that they do care about this issue, then obviously be more cautious.

Sorry to ask something that is definitely somewhere in the forum (I made a search but could not find it). What is the lottery appointment?
The last three times I went to Fsh I was looking for ready to wear and did not ask for a bag. I also had a fantastic tour of the roof and offered an apple from the tree in the little garden (and it was good).:flowers:

Register here the day before to try for a chance at a leather goods department appointment the following day. It is the only way to be considered for any bag during your visit (bar exceptions made for spending tens of thousands of euros on other goods).

Absolutely!

Does anyone know if the workshops are closed for August in France like previous years? or they remain open/ partial open to catch up the lost time for production due to closure in the earlier part this year?

I‘m definitely interested as well if anyone has intell as I just booked a flight to go H shopping this week (no appointment yet, but rejected 3 times so far so fingers crossed).

My SA said they are taking the normal vacation despite downtime from covid. The stores actually seem to have more stock than ever (due to fewer shoppers, I imagine) so I don’t think production is a concern.

That was what I was told by my SA as well.

Have fun and good luck! :happydance:

Hi!

I apologise if this this off topic (mods please feel free to remove). I've not been to Paris so am not sure, is it easier to find exceptional scarves in Paris and will they ship it out?

We wanted to go this year.. but similar to most.. that looks less and less likely now .
