I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I was told that the online appointment is done on a random basis - so it doesn't really matter that you're the first to book etc as you would be randomly selected. Also I was advised, for the physical queue, one would get a better chance to be the first ten customers if one is at the store at least one hour before. But I totally feel your frustration as I was in your place last October!

Yeh that is right. It’s a random draw system, so just because you registered as the first customer in the day it doesn’t mean you’ll come first. It doesn’t work like an in person queue like sevres and George V. Be patient I guess, your time will come if you have a few more days in Paris.

How should I allocate my time if I want to buy some scarves, mens accessories, and get a Kelly bag? Should I make the leather appt and try to get these things then or get these things at a time separate from my leather appt?

Has anyone had luck getting a concierge from a 5* hotel to get an appt for them?

I did it few times, you should email the hotel in advance and ask. most hotels near an hermes store in paris would offer this.

I think I've read here that concierges no longer can get FSH appointments since the online system has been put in place. When was the last time you did this? What store and what hotel if you don't mind?

I think you’ll have a hard time getting anyone to reveal the hotel that was able to secure an appointment for them. Especially on a massive forum like TPF. If so, they’d get inundated with requests and would likely have to stop offering the service.

I've only tried once at the Ritz Paris and the concierge told us that his leather SA was out on vacation. We ended up just going in for scarves, jewelry, etc.

I'm confused now. I know that I can get the other stuff anytime, but I don't want to spend a lot of time at H this trip. Will I be allowed to purchase non-leather goods at that time? Other posts say "yes".
Yes :) No one is going to stop you from buying more while in the store. If you buy a bag you just say you'd like some other items.

For those still in Paris; how’s the current traffic etc due to the strike/protests, which already on the 40th day today?

I saw some Metro runs at certain times only. How about Uber and other Taxi services? Do they mark up their prices still? Hope this mess will be over soon!
