Thanks for the feedback and I am really glad that nothing happened to you! Of course I am insured but can you insure against the trauma of it all?

Really? Well, it"s not like she was stumbling blindly around the city and happened to tear her necklace by running into someone"s extended arm...She was aware of her surroundings. But how do you defend yourself when a guy comes up in front of you and just grabs you while another is standing behind your back? Are you saying that she wasn't paying enough attention? Seriously? I think I"d definitely notice someone who invades my personal space and assaults me. And she definitely did too but couldn't help it.

I am glad that you"ve had such a wonderfull experience in Paris. But the problem is not my acquaintance paying too little attention to her surroundings. It's the fraudsters, pick-pockets, crooks and violent, criminal elements that see

I am glad that you"ve had such a wonderfull experience in Paris. But the problem is not my acquaintance paying too little attention to her surroundings. It's the fraudsters, pick-pockets, crooks and violent, criminal elements that seem to control so many of the public spaces of that wonderfull city. It can improve but the first step is acknowledging the real problems, which exist and not dismissing the victims very real, terrifying first hand experiences.

Sorry you’re offended. All I meant was there is danger in every large city and all you can do is be aware of your surroundings. Sometimes that’s enough to prevent a mugging and sometimes it isn’t. I’m sure your friend and her daughter were terrified. I don’t think I’ve been lucky unless every other person I know who visits/lives in Paris is lucky too. I think your friend got very unlucky but it wouldn’t affect my decisions on what to walk around with. I’m not belittling your friend’s bad experience, just suggesting it be taken in the context of the vast majority of people that do not get assaulted. Hopefully they will recover soon.

Hi there! I've been reading this forum for hours lol, and I had a question that I didn't see an answer to...

Is there an ideal month to visit FSH if you want a Kelly or Birkin? My schedule is flexible, but I was thinking of visiting Paris in January or February.

My understanding is that January miiight have lower stock because it's right after the holidays (though I saw a lot of posts from people in Jan 2019 saying they got offers), and February miiiight have lower stock because of fashion week? Right now, I'm leaning toward January for my trip. Any thoughts or personal experience?

Part 1:
I’m back home from my pairs trip and would like to share my full experience.

Saturday Nov 16:
My mum, my sister and me applied for an appointment for Monday the day we arrive and were rejected.

Tuesday Nov 19: we were rejected again for Tuesday. So I queued for George V at 9:50 am notice that the store opens at 10:15, there were 30 people ahead of me already, so by the time it was my turn it was 10:30 and all appointment were taken. At 12 pm, we went to serves and again no appointment.

Wednesday and Thursday:
we were rejected again and I had work on both days so did not queue or visit any store.

Friday: Again, the three of us was rejected for the 5th time, so my sister and I decided to visit the store to check if they had any cancellation. we arrived at around 2 pm asked for a cancellation and they told us to come back at 4 pm.

We walked around store and went to the shoes department, I tried on the Neo ankle boot and they had a new black one with gold hardware! It matches my Kelly perfectly so i bought it.

The SA ask if he can help us after we have tried items from RTW and i said yes i want an appointment for bags. he said ok come with me, we went down again to the appointment desk.he asked the lady to fit me in for an appointment and she was so annoyed and looked at me and said " we are very busy, let her try online" they then started speaking in French which i don’t understand. The SA then asked me to come back in 30 mins and they will be able to help me.

so I waited and went back in 30 mins, at this point it was 3:30 pm, i was so annoyed by the lady at the appointment desk, I tried to ask her about the appointment as i was asked to be back and she just left me and walked away.

Another SA witnessed everything so he offered to help and asked me what happened. i told him that i have been trying for days and showed him the texts. he checked in the system and was able to see that I have actually applied and got rejected ( btw i was able to see everything he is doing and it was an actual system where it shows how many time you applied and the phone number you have used).

Part 2:

He gave me an appointment an it was at 4 pm. I met the SA she was a young French girl and gave her my list, mini kelly or kelly 25 (for my sister as i was only looking for 25) and roulis in croc or ostrich. it took her 35 minutes and when she was back it was a huge box so i knew it wasn’t Kelly 20 so thought it might be roulis, but it was actually kelly 25 in a light pink shade which i didnt like, she said there are more options if i want in grey and black and we said yes.

She went and came back with kelly 25 gris etain epsom with ghw, the bag is so pretty and my sister decided to take it.

In the evening both my mum and sister got an appointment text for Saturday, my mum's at 10:30 am and my sister at 5:30 pm I was very disappointed as she was going to try to get me a bag.

Saturday:

My mum went to her appointment and said that there were so many people waiting without any appointment and that she was the second online but when she entered she was pushed and ended up being the 15th to registered. Her wish list was kelly 25 in exotic, and was offered a kelly 25 in a green shade in ostrich which she got.

At 3 pm, my sister checked the appointment time and it changed to 4:15, so she decided to go to store and wait. At around 3:20, she received a text asking her to go to store. At this time, she was stuck in traffic as the road to FSH was closed, she received a text asking her to head to leather department and she was still in the taxi. She arrived at 4 pm, by this time she received another text saying that her appointment was cancelled. However, she was lucky, as two SA were available as they had many cancellations this day.

Again she shared my wish list kelly 20 in any color and maybe 25 but nothing bigger. she waited for 20 minutes and was offered kelly 20 in a blue shade in ostrich, when she texted me to ask if I want it I thought she was kidding as it was Saturday and her appointment was so late in the afternoon, but it was just good luck.

Wanted to share my experience so far, since this thread has been so helpful as I’ve been planning my paris trip.

4 rejections from FSH, tried my luck at Sevres Monday morning and was able to score an appointment for around 2pm. Had a nice SA who asked for my wishlist and served us coffee. After about 5 minutes, returned and said no B/K at all available.

Overall a pleasant experience, but obviously disappointed that I didn't have any luck. My DH sympathized with me and said I shouldn’t fall to “victim blaming” (lmao), since I was recounting my every word and was convinced I did or said something wrong. I was very polite but thought maybe I should have conversed a bit more with my SA before saying I was looking for a B/K?

When you ladies get a leather appointment and the SA asks what you are looking for, do you immediately tell them your B/K/C wishlist? Or do you tell them other stuff and browse those first before broaching the BKC subject? I just figured that during a leather appointment...they already know you are looking for a bag...

Thanks for any advice! Tomorrow is my last full day in Paris and already reject d from FSH so may try Sevres again (as I heard its better than George V..?). Thanks ladies!!! :flowers:
I don't recall being asked what I wanted. SA said, "You want a bag?" and I said yes. Then she sat me down in a dressing room and went off. Any colors I asked for were last season's colors. (Gosh). She came back with some swatches, none of which grabbed me so then she came back with a 35 gold kelly. Now this is a big kelly. You can easily put your glasses, wallet, a toiletry or two, a paperback and maybe a pet guinea pig in it if he's not too fat.
I never asked for that size of bag. However, when thinking about the experience later, I realized I was carrying a really huge Coach bag, beautiful leather and leather detailing, from some kind of anniversary they had maybe around 2010. ( It seemed like a good bag for a trip) This was nothing like current or past Coach bags, it was a special edition (Coach was shifting designers then). Plus large bags were still in fashion then. I bet when SA saw that huge bag -- which I haven't used in years and years -- she figured a B35 would be a good bet. The moral of this story is that the SA can be influenced by by what you're already carrying. Obvious, isn't it?
I also had been carrying the Coach b/c it had a long ornate crossbody strap. I thought I should get used to crossbody. When I got home I got a crossbody gold/white 50mm H strap (currently on H.com) for the gold K. I really like that strap on the bag, it gives it some color contrast and it does distribute the weight of the bag better than a narrow shoulder strap.

Not sure but don’t visit in August. That’s the worst month for bags as the craftsman are on vacation.
