My parents have been in Paris since mid September for a 6 weeks vacation. They both applied for an appointment almost everyday and my mom got one on her 5th attempt but because it was fashion week they told her no bags.
My dad got his appointment at about his 10th attempt a week ago (he did not apply every day) and was only offered a 24/24 which he declined.
My mom tried again after her September 29th appointment for a new appointment and she got 11 rejections by sms!! This is becoming crazy....

It’s enough to give a confident person an inferiority complex. It’s the opposite to my experience going through security at the airport. Even though I have TSA pre check and Global entry I’m always “randomly” selected for more screening. I wish that the rare times I play the lottery I should be so lucky as to be “randomly” selected.
Then there are posters who have said even with an appointment, they have been kept waiting hours past their appointment time, basically losing a whole day just waiting around. There really needs to be a better system.

As I shared in post earlier, we did not get any appointments till we left Paris and thanks to DH’s effort we finally got one the first day we arrived Barcelona and thanks god it is Saturday so our travel back to Paris will not be that hectic, but I know it is crazy enough to travel that far only for a bag. Our appointment is after 1 and FSH was not very busy then, they even allowed walk ins whose targets are not BKC.
Finally an Asian gentleman sales approached me saying bonjour madam how can I help you for bags, I can hear my heartbeat at that moment. I told him I would like a mini C with durable leather such as Epsom or Evercolor, PHW is preferred and I do not like candy colors.He wiped on his working mobile saying epsom leather is less produced now but he will try his best helping me, then he left in a rush.
After 10min or more he came back with a mini C box I know for sure.Yes that’s the bag exactly what I want, a noir epsom mini C with PHW, the gentleman even brought a Evercolor rose azalea Mini C for me to wear and compare and I picked the cool girl for sure. Thanks for letting me share and hope all of you lovely ladies and gentlemen can get what you want in FSH.

Wow that is definitely a long way but you got your mini C so your effort paid off. Bravo to your supportive husband as well!

On another note, I know being selected for an appointment the “first” time is random but I wonder if H has a system in place where they filter out people who have been granted an appointment within a certain period (a few weeks or months) and automatically reject them?

Ladies who live in Paris or travel there often (and actually registered for FSH appointments regularly), please share your experiences!

Completely off-topic, but it’s a pretty well understood that the TSA “randomly selected screening” is not random at all. A number of things trigger it, such as if you’ve bought a single one way international ticket, if you’ve passed certain countries recently (last I had that it was due to transfer in Turkey), and yes, racial profiling is a factor too (look, clothes, name, background and such).

Now on topic: I guess we can never know for sure if FSH is truly random, but I think it’s always going to be incredibly special because of how different it is compared to the way normal H boutiques and offers of quota bags work. I’d say that as long as this specialness exists FSH will always be crazy. I don’t think they will be worried about lack of business no matter what their selection algorithm really is!
