I was only in Paris for one full day so I made the appointment online the day before and I was so surprised to see the appointment was confirmed. The SA asked me the preference for color, leather, and also hardware. I was open to all leather and hardware as long as it was a dark neutral color but was told there was no kelly in any color or size. The SA actually came back with 3 boxes and my heart was like “ hooray “ but there were all herbag!
WOW! you are super lucky!. I tried twice last week and did not get anything. I also tried 5 times last month and the results were the same.

I posted about my experience obtaining a Birkin for my wife in December at the Faubourg Hermes. Well we are back in Paris and I thought why not try and get her another one :). We applied for an appointment for the past two days with no luck. But last December they sold us one without an appointment so I figured why not try again. Of course, last time we got in due to no one showing because of the Yellow Jacket protests. I figured no harm in trying again though. I went to the leather department counter and patiently waited while the SA helped another customer. The customer told the SA she had two appointments. I think he really wanted to roll his eyes (yikes!) and asked who had the other appointment. The customer pointed to her little daughter Now the SA was annoyed and asked how old she was to which she replied ten. The SA then said, there will be only one appointment. So of course, I thought well maybe that opened up a slot. And then also thought, there is no way she is getting offered a bag after that (side note: it's not a good idea to show up asking for multiple appointments). The SA turned toward me and asked if he could help. By the way, he was actually quite pleasant with the customer and to me. I politely asked if there was any chance of getting an appointment. He started saying no, when I said, "ah bummer, I've tried the past two days with no luck". He then said, "oh you've already been trying. Type your name here (on his device)." I typed my wife's name but she wasn't found. So he asked for her passport #. While typing it (we have very similar #s), my name popped up (I bought the Birkin in Dec as well as other things) and he clicked on me. He scanned through my previous purchases and said to wait just a moment and a SA would be here to help. Awesome!!! She came down and asked my wife what she would like. My wife said she was looking for a Birkin 25 or 30, preferring a 30. And then explained the nuetral colors she liked but also liked tangerine. And said she was really wanting to get Ostrich leather. The SA said that this year Ostrich was all about bright colors and asked which bright colors she liked? My wife again said tangerine and then pointed to a bougainvillea Ostrich wallet that she really liked. The SA had her pick out a couple other bright colors and then went away. I felt like the SA was helping her to pick something they had in stock. Can't be sure but it felt that way. When my wife saw her come down with a large box, a medium box and two small boxes, she was crazy excited and crazy nervous for what was in the box! She said her heart started racing. The SA took us to a quite area in the store and then revealed that she found a Birkin in 30... And in Ostrich.... And then paused while pulling it out and showed a beautiful bougainvillea Ostrich Birkin. My wife was thrilled and didn't even think about it. I was a bit surprised because this is her first foray into bright colors. My wife said afterward that she just loved how it popped and the contrast of pinkish-red colors due to the Ostrich skin. Needless to say we bought the Birkin along with a wallet and bag liner. Although she doesn't love the liner and will likely return it. I'm yet again grateful to this forum and of course grateful to our SA!

What a beautiful bag and a great story! The color is just wonderful- makes me think of raspberry sherbet on this hot summer day. SO thrilled for you ( and your VERY lucky wife!). Enjoy the bag and enjoy Paris!!

fantastic story and beautiful bag!!!

Hi guys!
I think I will try my luck this year and I am already excited but also afraid of having too high expectations. I try to remind myself of the fact that it is not even for sure that I will get an appointment, not to say a B or a K.

I am currently planning my trip to Paris and I’ve been reading a lot in this thread. First of all: thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences. Reading all of this is really helpful and makes me feel less alone on the hunt I will not go to Paris just for Hermés but it is definitely one of the reasons so I’m asking myself what’s the „right“ time to go there. I’ve read that July-Sept is not the best decision but I am not sure on whether it is better just before Christmas? I assume that their stock will be better but there will be more People buying Christmas presents as well. What are your thoughts on this?

Do you think it is better to know exactly what leather, size and color you want or will my chances be higher if I am open for anything within a certain ‚range‘?
I’ve been thinking about how long to stay there as well. I am so confused but happy to have found this forum!

Yes for sure - otherwise SA will put themselves in the position of bringing you items you will possibly reject which is a waste of their time and energy.
Dec is a variable - I heard from SAs that’s more about if it’s a bad year or good year for H’s revenue. It was raining Constance at FSH last Dec but there were people reported not getting it too. You are right about the X’mas shopping driven by locals - quota bags were reserved for locals only, in Sevré last Dec. I got my quota bag so I wasn’t keen to do the 1:1 or 1.5:1 hence didn’t ask at Sevré how much spending I need to get a quota bag.
I wasn’t sure whether it was because of Dec - the magic month last year or because my spending last summer at FSH was more than 1.2 of a quota bag but I didn’t get one in summer so that there was no way I am not getting a B/K last Dec.

In Paris for one week and here’s my results so far at the three stores:

1. George V: Nothing (B/K/C/Roulis) from two tries on Friday and following Monday. Both times I went early around 9:30am and was in line within the first 20 - SA at the store mentioned the first 20 do not need appointments.

2. FSH: Went in without appointment first and purchased a CDC ring and some clic H bracelet. Got an appointment on my 4th try for later today - might have to shoot for some non quota bag due to the good fortune at Sevre.

3. Sevre: went early with DH around 9:30 and we were 12th or so in line. During initial discussion with assigned SA who was very delightful and professional, we discussed leather preferences/color choices and I asked for B25/K25 in gold or etoupe with GHW. SA came back with a Novillo B30 in gold with GHW and I took it. Also bought a Fourbi bag insert. The Barenia padding on the Fourbi triggered some further discussion and we asked for SLGs in Barenia - the resourceful SA tracked down a Calvi in barenia with robot print and we grabbed it immediately. The next step was to find some twilly for the B30 but we ended up with something that will not go on the bag.

Nice and thank you for sharing! I guess The jungle love rainbow twilly will match your gold bag perfectly? I guess it’s the other one(animapolis) not matching the gold bag you meant? You look fabulous by wearing it!

I must say, what a wonderful scored! Thank you for sharing!

Correct, the jungle love twilly would match perfectly with the B30 but the special embroidered Animapolis echarpe twilly will only go on my neck. o:)
