Sorry but there’s a part 3 to my story

I was unsettled the whole night and scanning through my mind how the Bleu Encre could work with my wardrobe. Under different lighting, the colour looks navy which I like or purple to me which I have doubts. Then I looked at the pictures again and realised it’s also the size that made me uncomfortable, especially when I shoulder carried it.

I decided to check if I could make an exchange. The following day, we were back at the boutique the moment it opened. My friend asked for a replacement appointment and the hostess told us to come back after 4pm as the store was a lot busier than Monday.

When we returned after 4pm, we saw the roads were barricaded with perspex walls with more police officers right at the cross junction outside FSH. We started getting worried about our own safety and also wondered if there’s a lock down. Fortunately, the shop was still open and business was as usual. The SA assured us that we’re in a safe area and the protesters already came and left.

My friend was granted a replacement appointment and I used the appointment to request for a C18 as well as to change my K32 to K28 because the day before, the purchase of my friend’s Halzan was made under my name since I was given the appointment. They didn’t allow my friend to purchase the bag in her own name then. Hence, my friend was happy for me to use her appointment as she already bought her bag.

It was a different SA who served us. She was a younger French lady but equally friendly and helpful. I explained to her that I was uncomfortable with the size and colour of the Bleu Encre K32 and asked if she could check whether there was any other available colours for a Kelly but in size 28. I emphasised that I wasn’t asking for a refund and if there’s no other K28, I’d still accept my initial decision.

The SA disappeared for a long time and she returned with the magical stack of three boxes. This time, we were ushered into a private dressing room in the RTW department.

Sensing my anxiety as I could tell the box was smaller than the one for K32, she unveiled that special box. What a beauty to behold...

It’s an Apricot K28 in evercolor Ghw. Orange has always been my favourite although I read in this forum that there seemed to be many bleu lovers here. This shade of orange is more muted and the SA explained that it’s one of the latest colours with some yellow undertone.

As I already had an orange H bag, I turned down the offer and kept my Bleu Encre K32.

The SA went on to inbox the remaining boxes and said they didn’t have any Constance. The other two bags offered to me were a Bleu Encre Opli and bright yellow Roulis 23. I politely rejected them.

After I left the shop, I couldn’t forget the apricot K28. Tormented by the decision making, I sent the pictures of both Kellys to my hubby and he said , get both! His response didn’t help and I decided to sleep over it.

The next morning, I knew I had to return to the shop to exchange for the apricot K28 as I had to leave Paris by lunch.

I headed straight to the leather department when the shop opened and explained my situation. I was assigned a third SA almost immediately which I was very grateful for.

The shop was very busy again and I could see other non B K C offered to those who had appointments.

The new SA returned and A’s expected, she said she had no K in size 28. I then explained that I was offered one in apricot the day before close to 6pm and asked her to check again. She returned with the box indeed and unboxed it in the RTW area. Her manager immediately wrapped the bag and ushered us into a private dressing room. Apparently, they don’t show BKC openly because they don’t want to invite queries from other customers who didn’t get them.

After posing with the Apricot K28 and comparing it to the Bleu Encre K32, I decided to choose the latter. The colour and size sing out to me more somehow.

I’ve attached a picture comparing the K28 vs K32 for your reference.

Thanks for reading my long post but I hope to include as much details as I can in paying forward to this very helpful thread :drinks:

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. What a difficult decision to make! You were very, very lucky to have the option to exchange, as well as the ability to compare the two Kelly’s once you mentioned you had been offered the abricot the evening before. Enjoy your gorgeous bleu encore Kelly! She’s stunning!

Ha ha... I know my story sounds confusing but I took the apricot k28 in the end.

Oh My goodness, such an experience. You were so lucky that the K28 was still there. Like you, I am not a big fan of purple undertone either. I would so take the Apricot too, even if just for the size. I am about your height and my sis let me borrow her K32 for a few months and I found it too big for my frame too. Congrats on your new bag. She is absolutely gorgeous.

Hi! I had such a lovely sales woman when I was at FSH in October and I completely forgot her name...any ideas how I can find her name? Would they have my purchase history SA information? Thanks!
