4th try to get an appointment

K28 Blue indigo in gold hardware

I ask for a lot of color and even Barenia I’ve mentioned SA said “ you’re a true Hermes lover “ gone for 10 minutes and VOILA .....
Congrats! I’ve tried 3x for an appointment and no luck yet. I had to try 4x last year and bought a B35 in Tomate Rouge

I think its not hard as long as they have it in stock, but you have to get an appointment.. and you can also go to Sevre and George V.
I pass by the Hermes at the airport CDG they have roulis in stock but it's not on display you have to ask..
Thank you! I think I'm flying into orly so no airport shopping for me :( I certainly plan to go to all 3 stores. I only want gold tone.
I am really specific about colors that would fit into my wardrobe so thats gonna be the hardest part.

Wanted to share an unsuccessful attempt earlier in the month at FSH

I purchased a K28 at FSH back in August of 2016 before the appointment system when you simply had to queue. I was very lucky to have met the right SA on my second attempt that trip.

This time, I happened to take Air France to my Italian destination which require a layover in CDG. I had 12 hours in the city only-- arriving at 7am and departing for Italy at 7pm. 2 days prior to departing when I was still in my home city, I started registering for appointments. I was successful in scoring an appointment on the 3rd attempt for Saturday 1 Sep at 10:30am. I know this is probably frowned upon by some but I figured I had a very small window of opportunity and took a chance. I did not know whether or not my appointment would be successful until I landed in Paris.

I stored my luggage at CDG and made my way into Paris. I arrived at FSH at 10:32am. I headed upstairs to the bags department where many clients were already seated talking to SA's with a small queue of 3 to 5 guests ahead of me. After showing my passport I waited about 3 minutes before I was assigned to an SA.

The SA tried to find a secluded spot for us to discuss my preferences. I gave him the options of B30 or K25 sellier in black, bleu nuit, or burgundy. I do not like Epsom and he suggested Box leather as an option. He mentioned that K/B were rare and if I was interested in anything else, I said perhaps a mini Bolide. I mentioned also that my K28 was purchased from here and was not interested in this size again. He then pulled up my profile on his phone and asked me to reconfirm if it is me. After I validated my address, he offered me beverages and I took a water which was served to me before he went to check the stock.

He was gone for quite a long time and I saw a guest being shown a Roulis in a bright pink and Jige also in bright pink which were both declined by the client.

When he returned it was with 3 boxes. But he immediately told me that no K/B were available and mentioned that he did not see my purchase history in the system. He then showed me what were in the boxes. I was offered a L30 in bleu nuit and gold hardware, a mini bolide in a dark pink (sorry forgot which one, pinks are not my color), and a mini bolide in a fun patchwork pattern. Unfortunately none of them sang to me and I denied all of them.

I proceeded to fine jewelry to try on a few pieces and saw a client being offered a K28 in noir. And of course one of our TPF members scored a B25 in the afternoon on the same day. I also think that a gentleman with an adorable daughter without an appointment (who happened to queue the same time as me), was successful.

I ended up spending quite some time in scarves as I was unsuccessful in fine jewelry (no combo that I wanted available) and shoes (no size for any orans in any colour in a size 38). After I made a substantial purchase in scarves and my SA asked me to reconfirm my profile again, I mentioned to her that the bag SA said I didn't have any purchase history. She said it showed that I had purchased but then returned a pair of shoes in Cannes with EUR0 purchased. I've never been to Hermes in Cannes so it could not have been me. Essentially I had the right passport number/right address but $0 spending history on my profile. Later on the cashier did re-identify my purchase history based on my tax refund receipts and reattached them.

I'm unsure whether or not I was not offered anything this time due to this hiccup. I did feel that my bag SA did try to help but could not or would not offer me a bag.

I'll be back in Paris in October and try my luck again!

Quick update.

I returned to Paris in mid-October. I had attempted the online booking system twice and was rejected on both counts. I ended up going to FSH anyway on my day of departure at around 3:00pm to try to get a walk-in appointment. Many employees I encountered on that day were simply not interested in being pleasant. I departed as soon as the queue SA informed me that no walk-in appointments were available.

I decided to do my shopping at CDG. I ended up purchasing a small SLG and two scarves. I also inquired about a Fortunio as I'm quite enamored with the clutch especially in the Bordeaux colour but not enough to deal with the openly-hostile staff at FSH while I was there that day. When advised that the Fortunio is not available I asked about C or L26. Was informed they didn't have any C that day but they did have the L26 in a variety of colours. I asked to see the two pinks they had available out of curiosity and declined both but instead took the classic Gold color with SHW which I'm very pleased with, especially as I didn't have to deal with the VAT refund.

I'll keep trying if my travels bring me to Europe but I'm most likely going to try my luck at scoring a vintage black box Kelly in Japan at a reasonable price instead.

Hello lovelies,
I am going on a trip to Paris at the end of next month, and I want to buy my very first Hermes bag while I’m there. It’s very exciting to think about getting my first Hermes!! I really want the Evelyne III in a neutral gray color with GHW. Here is whatI want to ask you:
1.-if I need to make an appointment for that bag or if the appointments are only necessary for B,K,C.
2. Is there one store over another one that I should visit?
3.Do you need to declare when coming back into LAX
4. Do you have a lovely SA that I should contact.
Thank you

You might want to try the Hermès forum, but some answers:

At the flagship, you need an appointment for any leather bag. But they have the most stock.
The Sevres store is the next largest. It shouldn't be hard to find an Evelyne overall.
The airport stores have Evelynes but obviously less stock and fewer choices of colors/leathers.
Evelynes with GHW are not common. If you are set on GHW it will be harder.
Evelynes are MUCH less expensive in Europe. It's a great bag to go for in Paris.
You may want to consider ordering online from the French site and delivering to your hotel especially if you are dead set on your color/leather combo. You will not get the tax refund, but it is an option.
Of course, you must declare your purchases at LAX. You have an $800 exemption and can combine that with anyone you are traveling with. Last time I bought an Evie in Paris I combined my exemption with my husband's for a total of $1600 and the agent waived duty on the rest (it was about $2200 at that time).

This might be a dumb question, I’m sorry. Do I need to have a purchase history to be able to buy an Evelyne?

I hope it’s not too late to share my H experience few months back in Paris.

On the first day of arrival, we didn’t get any appointment as we forgot we had to make it on the day before. On the second day however DH and I tried requesting for our appointment but it was declined. We went to George V and Sevres both days, no bkc found, but they were carrying many other popular items like lindy, rouris, rodeo etc. On the third day, DH and I were granted with our appointments. Mine was slotted at 10.30am as early as the store opens, while DH was slotted at 4pm. I had a good feeling just when I saw the time assigned.

At 10am, DH and I went straight to FSH and there were already 3 people queuing in front of us. As soon as the door opens, everyone rushed towards the end (where the leather goods were usually sold). However as we walked in we were stopped by a nice SA asking us ‘to go upstairs’ for our appointment. So we followed and went to first floor, where we were greeted by a pic asking for our appointment. It seems that the queuing location shifted that day. As we were the first in line at the leather department, we were assigned to a male SA which I later found out that he’s the manager of cuir department.

Once we were seated, he quickly asked for our wishlist. He was fast throughout the whole time as if he was in competition. After we gave him our wishlist, he told us he will check the inventory. Before he left, he oddly double confirmed with us the payment method and made sure I’ll be paying with my own credit card (it was my appointment). Sounds like he wanted to assure we will not have payment issues during checkout.

He returned after a long 5 minuets that feels like forever. We were then led to a private room. It’s a black C24! I was thrilled and couldn’t express my gratitude enough. After confirming our purchase, he told us he will bring the box straight to cashier as he doesn’t want anyone else to see the bag being offered.

As we stepped out of the private room, we saw many shoppers being turned down. I think it’s about the timing. We were just lucky enough to be the first in line and to be served by a manager. It was my third time in Paris and my second score from FSH. I’ll be returning to Paris again in December & hope I’ll score something different this time!
