Well I wasn't specifically replying to you but I am truly sorry your experience was not as good as it could have been. As someone above said, not everyone has success stories to tell and most who post here do. Can I clarify that now GV needs online appt as well? And also can I just generally say, some people do buy other things to receive a bag offer but they don't always mention it, eg on IG or on their blogs.

I’m so sorry FSH didn’t work for you this time and I kinda understand how you feel because I was very close to have a bad experience too, but if you have another opportunity in the future, try the printed list with ranked options. I handed my SA a list with 10 options and found it really helpful. I don’t think it looked like someone else’s list because I did explained my options to my SA and she also took some notes directly in the list. She even asked me about the options on the bottom of the list (mini Evies), that since they were not quota bags, if she should just bring them if they were available together with my other options (!!!). Long story short, she brought me my third opinion on the list and did mentioned it to me - I’m happy that I could find your 3rd option, and 3 mini Evies she said I could take if I wanted.
I also think that you shouldn’t think it’s somehow your fault or you were not choose. Probably, you just may not have been lucky with your SA.

It’s good to know GV needs appt too! I didn’t know and when I was there a week ago the sales didn’t mention it. The sales there actually helped to check if my none BK list bags were available in my desired color but there wasn’t any, so I didn’t get any bag from them. We were there mainly to fill up our ‘shopping history’ record, so we got a few items here and there but mainly at fsh. I heard enough nos these days hence didn’t ask the bags after hear others conversation.

Is there any link I can fill in the application for GV? I won’t be able to make it back to Paris any soon but it will be always good to know in case I am going for last minute.

I wasn’t aware on appointment for GV when I was there on Friday 17 Aug. The male sales consultant only say no bkc but if other bags like garden party, he could check if any etc...

Hi Lovebb12... sorry as I just woke up from sleep as just return yesterday. Let me provide more details.

I do not have a specific SA & was assigned SA on the day of appointment. As for purchase history, I bought 2 scarfs (1 big 1 small), 2 twillies in case I score any Birkin but end up no bags, 1 Cuir Kelly bracelet, 1 rivale Double tour bracelet & 1 H bangle back in Oct 2018. Big scarf was purchased at serves store, H bangle at cdg Airport & rest were at fsh store. I did not go to george v. I did tried once online booking of appointment in oct 2018 but didn’t get any & I did not try further as I was only in Paris for 2days.

When giving my preference, I did not give any list to SA, all from my choices of colours I like. Yes I did mention Magnolia is nice & I don’t mind Brighton too. She did ask if I like rose pourpre, I said not really as I like lighter shades & rose pourore is too dark. She also ask if I like current season colours like yellow, green or purple in case she cannot find colours I like. But I said that is fine with hesitation & mention lighter shades of pastel & not dark colours. But I love pink like Magnolia & prefers sling bag like kelly.

My purchase was done on 18 Aug, initial timing was around 11.30am but ended up become around 12.10pm Paris time. I actually went to fsh every morning & afternoon timing to see if any cancellation on thurs & Friday till the bag hostess sort of remembers me... but she told me no cancellations & ask me to try again on sat & she will be there too. When I show up on Saturday, it’s no longer asking her on cancellation but updating her I finally got an appointment.

My trip to Paris is specially to buy a bag & wallet while on my honeymoon to London & Italy... but I did not mention about other items but focus only on bags when SA ask me on preference as I wasn’t sure if I am getting hermes wallet or Chanel wallet then...

I did not buy any hermes items during my 2015 trip. Was your appointment on 18 August too?

My SA did ask if other bags are fine when taking down my preference. I really hesitated & really disappointed.

Didn’t get any appointment, I would probably get the Brighton jypsiere on display at level 1...

Lovebb12, actually Magnolia is not a top pink choice for me but I am perfectly fine with most shades of pink colour as Long it is not dark like rose pourpre. My preference of pink are like rose Sakura, rose lipstick or rose confetti but these are from previous Seasons & I seriously dun think I will get it & did not even mention these colours. But saying something of current season colours do help I believe since the Color is in season... so when she ask me on rose pourpre I reply no & prefers Magnolia...

It sounds not only the sales were different but also the date was too!

Just in case you are not aware of, items purchased at the Hermès airport boutique at duty free is actually not accountable for the shopping history for the French record, so do some boutiques outside Paris too.

I sort of believe they were really low on inventory on the day of my booking but I did see some b on offer to other costumers on Friday.

I would say judging by even asking me if I am interesting in a color not in my list, the sales was trying to make sure I get a bag at least. As it sounds my sales might have seen that color in the morning, but maybe only in my third option of the type of bag instead of a b/k. I would say that were it not be in August, most peoples’ chance might be slightly bigger. But congratulations on scoring one! We all know how hard to get it isn’t it?
About your prefer colours - oops, what a world, no one gets the color in her first choice at all. But your preference must be a little harder due to it was a color from a few season ago.

And last but not least, can you or anyone tell me, were a scan of the bar code at airport before the passport control near french custom was good enough or did all of you got the refund only if you 1) scan the bar code of the form;2) throw the envelope with both receipt and tax refund form into the box near the travelex and the French custom?

I asked because I didn’t throw in the receipt but only the form after scanning it, I wonder if I should have throw in the receipts too in order to get a tax refund.

Yeah I got the bag a week ago & another lady shared she got a black evercolour kelly on following Monday. I wasn’t hoping to get as it is August, but am really lucky & the SA was really nice. She brought us to the home department sofa to sit down & serve us drinks before she listen attentively to my preference while squatting down. I never expect I would meet a really nice hermes angel as I had seen people sharing SA just telling them no bkc which I experience myself at serves & gv...

It was into the mid month & since is my first hermes bag, I gave a very wide choices. Stay positive & mayb end August is really a bad timing... mayb July is better than August as it seems more people share stories here.

I check with the global blue staff by showing them my receipt & they confirm that no receipt is required for Paris purchases regardless of amount, just submit the tax refund form with custom stamp will do. For another purchase in London, they took my receipt as purchase above 500pound will need receipt to be submitted together so it depends on countries.

When I depart from cdg Paris in oct 2017, I only scan the form & submit the tax refund form into the box, no receipt too...

I was staying in London for business trip, and as my schedule is flexible and I can travel to Paris for a day trip, I applied for appointment at the flagship. I was really thrilled to receive the sms confirming my appointment on 6 Aug which was a Monday.

My appointment was scheduled at 1135. However, due to some incidence with the Eurostar I arrived Paris late and could only get to the flagship store at 2pm. I approached the leather department and the hostess immediately assigned an SA for me. I told her I am targeting for a b25 or a k28 in neutral colors. She was gone for long time but in the end she came back and told me no B/K and that she has even asked the manager but really there was no bag available that day. I was pretty disappointed as I went to Paris with high hope of getting a bag. The SA asked me if I would be staying for a few days but I really cannot afford another day trip in my schedule. I told the SA that I would be traveling to Paris again in late Sept, and she gave me her name card and may ask for her to help if I get an appointment again.

Afterwards I decided to go to George V shop. I heard that the shop would offer B and K with certain amount of purchase. I bought a rose gold bracelet and a leather mini-dog, and was offered a b35. Although I would have preferred a smaller bag (b35 is pretty heavy for me) I reallly cannot resist the color combo and took it home in the end. And here she is.

I agree. I requested black or orange B30. I was offered a black B35. I took it. Yes it’s heavy. And I don’t want to waste a probably once in a lifetime offer in Paris.

Update on my FSH trip. Just got back from Paris today and have time to unwind, sort of...back to my two young DDs! My SA offered me a Kelly 20 in Magnolia, I know this one has been seen a lot but I liked it so I went with it. My husband’s 3:15 appointment the SA offered a Constance 24 in Gris Perle evercolor SHW and we went with it too. I’m suddenly having regrets that GP is too light of a color (not that I can do anything about it now). But curious, if they offer you a bag, can you ask them to go back and check for another color/bag or is their offer your only option?

When I was at FSH, my wish list was very specific -- a toile or an indigo kelly or birkin. I was offered a toile/blue/black constance, which I declined. The SA came back with a toile plume, a gris perl constance and an indigo lindy. I declined them. At this stage in my "collecting," I am very picky. I knew the chances were slim but wanted to try anyway. But, clearly you can decline and may get offered alternative bags.

IMHO, the 35B is the classic H bag. Someone has written here that it is the bag sold often at Sevres, which sells to many locals. So you got a good one.

If I knew that’s the case re the spending, could have bag something nicer at the other two. Not even feel like to mention the total amount of none bag items of my bill. Yes we need them, well at least 2/3 of them, but could have played smarter and get a better bag.
