I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Ooh, I definitely agree. I have known my SA for three years or more, and I never purchased a bag from the SA, not even a rodeo charm. I don't always ask for B/K, I ask for other bags, but nothing. I know some succeed in Severes, but I have found Severes to be the most diffciult store....but I still enjoy going there, for the Petit H charms.

I enjoy going to sevres for drink and cake :)

I've always been referred to those particular departments. The only thing a leather SA has helped with were twillys if they brought a B/K. It seems they work by departments and I'm not sure most can interchange. When DH was trying shoes and it was time for our appointment, shoe SA called over leather SA. I've had a jewelry SA help with leather before though.

Are you still looking for a B/K or another bag? I'm afraid they will give you the same response regarding B/K. Those in this thread that have acquired more than 1 usually have a spouse or family member present (aka another passport). It is more of an exception and doesn't happen on a regular basis. The others are probably regular clients or VVVIP.

I am not asking b or k anymore , just other bags

I've found that George V felt more welcoming than Sevres. I've never purchased a bag there, but was successful in finding the perfect colors for what I was looking for that the other locations did not have (Jige and Kelly wallet). I will say that every time I've seen people walk in just to ask for bags, they were always told there was no stock. I think they cater more to locals and regulars.

Honestly, I think you need to stop with the bags. I tried to say this nicely. The French are not glutinous people. They do not buy huge quantities of things at once. You are going to leave a very bad impression if you keep going back and asking for more bags. If you ever want to go back and buy a bag I would really stop now. Go enjoy Paris. This all seems a bit excessive.

Seconding PP. You are considered lucky to have scored a B at first try whilst a lot of people left empty handed. Just enjoy Paris. Its such a lovely city to explore.

My SA as always came through. I had an appointment this morning with her. I asked for a b 30 in black phw or b 25 pink or black phw. I ended up with a beautiful Black phw swift B25 (baby Birkin). Very happy, it's so light im in shock. She said you will have to come back for a 30 in black and she asked me when I would be back. I said later this year. Probably October or November. Went to my hotel switched bags now I'm having lunch at bread and roses.
Congratulations on your new bag! I would love to see the beauty . You are one lucky lady to score a black b & an amazing SA. :smile:Have fun for the rest of your trip!

Is George V worth to go?

I only stay here for a week, so I want to buy as much as possible. Reiterate: I am not a reseller.

ITA. Paris is more than just Hermes bag hunting. A H buying experience is something to remember and cherish. Not a frenzy to be rushed like this.

So Lindy picotin and Gp are not readily available?

Like all hermes bag request, it depends on the size and color you are looking for.

Can I give another piece of advice? Of course all SAs want to sell and make commission. And deep down they know that sales are higher than they would be these days because buying in Europe is a bit of a bargain, but they don't want their noses rubbed in the fact that you are on a bargain hunting expedition. They would like to think you are making your purchases for the memory of buying in Paris, the selection and overall experience of the store and of course their expert advice. So if you want to build a relationship with a SA it's not just about looking like a reseller. It's also about seeming gauche. The SAs are working people. And as I said the French are not into excess. So they are unlikely to bond with you if you go crazy buying up everything you can get your hands on. This goes for pretty much any of the luxury stores in Paris these days. Try to respect their culture and values.

Excellent advice! :) I've found that the lovely Parisian SAs whom i have shopped years with are really understanding if i needed more time to think about a purchase. They appreciate thoughtful purchases. So it's not about spending, spending and spending to impress them or win them over.

I do tell my SA when she asks when Will I be back and I always reply that I will come back when I have saved up for another bag. She always replies that's smart and laughs. Money doesn't grow on trees at least for me it doesn't and I am not ashamed to to tell my SA that I need to save to make these purchases.

I know the fact that there's lots of people who are willing to wait in lines hours everyday just to get an appointment. My friend who came to Paris last month told me a story about someone she met in the line finally got a B25 and saying she's been going to store everyday in last 20 days, that's so impressed (in the bad way to me...personally), for me I can't and won't do that.
I love Paris and will be back anytime soon for vacation with family, but I will make appointment, I will spend just one day to shop all in once and the rest of time I will take lots of pictures, visit nice places, eat at good restaurants with loved ones which I didn't do that (due to some unforeseen reasons) when I came there last year with my family and still regretting til now ;)
I wish best luck to all the lovely ladies here will score your HG bags when you are going to Paris but if not please don't be upset, don't be sad, at least that's still a good experiences to have opportunity to shop at the Hermes mothership store and enjoy the beauty of Paris when you are there
