Hi all, this is my first post on TPF. I arrived Paris on Tuesday last week around 11am and headed to Sevres Hermes (where an SA served me 2 years ago) I showed her my wish list consisting of non leather and leather goods. After which, she showed me a b30 in etoupe but I am really looking for a croc bag (my first!) so I turned it down. Sigh, i never had much luck with exotics. I was pretty exhausted from the shopping so I went back to my hotel to rest (initially was thinking of rushing down to FSH to see if i can score an appointment)

The next morning I queued at FSH main entrance around 8.15am and there were about 6 people in front of me, there was a bit of "queue-cutting" but I was too darn excited about the whole experience so I didn't really care heh. Could feel my heart racing for the next 2 hours!!! Ahhh.. Finally, the main door opened and everyone was pushing from the back (yikesss), but i guess they were all too excited and nervous to get in! I became about the... 18th in line? But still managed to see an SA immediately. I have never met him before and unfortunately didn't manage to catch his name.

He seemed pretty distracted when I first met him but warmed up slowly after we sat down and offered me a cup of coffee. I told him I was looking for a small Kelly or Birkin in Croc. He asked what about Ostrich but I told him I was only keen on Croc.

He took off and my coffee came! Other customers who I saw in the queue were sitting around me at the first level waiting for their SAs to return. After 10 minutes, I heard their SAs mentioning there weren't any bags (i am assuming they asked for leather b/k). One of the customers was very disappointed and said she has been coming for days. I felt bad for her as I almost froze to death (literally!!!) just by queueing once at FSH, i can't possible imagine queueing numerous times.

After close to 35minutes, my SA finally returned with nothing in hand and I was pretty bummed, ready to leave and have lunch. HOWEVER.........
He told me to come with him into a room so he could show me something and my heart started going crazy again. He started unwrapping the box and I was screaming like a child and told him he needs to go faster!!! He just burst out laughing. It was a blue marine croc kelly with ghw!!! He asked if I wanted it and I was like R U KIDDING ME. I was in a fabulous mood so I shopped a bit more around the store.

Ps. I was wearing a basic trench coat with a plain top and black jeans. I don't think appearances play a big part in the whole process heh. Just my two cents! Happy new year everyone.

Apparently it cost them $800 to make a Birkin or Kelly (normal leather)
Not to go way off topic, but if each bag takes 18+ hours to make (that's the party line), that's USD$44/hour without the materials costs. I'm sure there is a thread somewhere breaking this down. The rule of thumb a few years ago was that designer bags were priced at 13x manufacturing cost with much of that cost in marketing, so $800 makes sense, but after materials that's low wages for someone who studies five years...
ETA: I debated saying this, and mods please delete if inappropriate, but the 'ultra superfakes" cost much, much more than $800, which also causes me to doubt this number.

Actually, I'm in US, so getting a K here isn't that difficult. You just have to buy other things and I'm sort of running out of those other things to buy, as they always say "non leather items." I've been in Paris about 20 times but still enjoy many parts of it. In fact, I am booked for another visit in the spring. :p

Of course I know that, lol. I just think the whole "checking" part is so silly, especially when the SAs I had this trip was prepared to say no to me from the start.

I was also very surprised how three stores in Paris had none. Herbag was supposed to be sister's back up bag when she gets turned down of her K requests. However, SAs were all saying they didn't see them for months.

Sis first got interested in getting one when we were at FSH in July. She was sitting down at one of the desks in the middle of the floor, which was shared with two other Asian ladies. Their SA came with a Herbag and showed it to them and sis, thinking she must be with the other ladies, lol. She thought it was cute and something she could carry it to work without anyone noticing it's a designer bag. But apparently, Paris is completely out of these bags this time around!

Perhaps it's the cheap price point that makes them sell out like hot cakes? It's €15xx, so prbably the cheapest Hermes bag. I wasn't aware how "cheap" it was till I was in Barcelona H last month and asked to see one. Sis was so happy she at least got her back up bag, lol. Well, even happier how she paid $1000 less than the States.

Hi nanamiryu. I saw herbag being offered in sevres when I went to the store around December 10. Can't remember the exact date!!
Glad you were able to get stuff from your wishlist!!

Unfortunately I wasn't able to score a kelly. But I tried in sevres. Not FSH. I did get a bearn wallet and a kelly belt. The SA took a good ten minutes to ring me up, he was on the phone during that time. I suspect he was trying to get me a kelly since I told him I had just escaped from my man and toddler to shop really quick and wouldn't be able to come back on Monday like he suggested and I was leaving on Tuesday.

That's fine, I don't need any more bags for now and I am still enjoying the six bags I got in one year (b/k included).

But just letting you know I did see a herbag! I guess they are harder to get. For the Evelyne TPM it's the same case. When I was in sevres asking for one I was told only 4 colors. Trench Feu blue agate and blue paon. I saw the last two and the paon was soft Epsom so I passed. I love Epsom but I already own two Epsom Evelyne and was hoping for Clemence. The blue agate was beautiful but I was hoping for a different color.

Sorry you did not find a Kelly but your other purchases sound lovely. Six bags in one year? That's wonderful and something for which to truly be thankful. [emoji255]

Yes PBP!! I've been so busy haven't had time to post about my trip to Paris. Went back home and now in Los Angeles! With a toddler!! Can i have a super mom badge? [emoji23]

It was in 2015 but that includes both my Birkin and Kelly within 5 weeks because as you have experienced.. when it rains it pours! [emoji173] one at my store and another at FSH. So I'm still busy enjoying my bags!!

I really wanted an Evelyne tpm but haven't met my match yet. On the upside, the kelly wallet is absolutely brilliant.

And I'm busy with the Chanel sales over here! So I've been busy [emoji23]

Hello my dear friends! This is my first post. I will be in Paris at the end of next week. I will be trying to score my first K. I thank everyone of you for your stories and tips. Sometimes it was very hard for me to sleep at night as some of the tries would have tobe repeated the next day and I was with you in your 'fails' and I witnessed & enjoyed your Victories!!!! Also, I will be attending the sale on the 11th, and I will keep you all posted. Many thanks
