How great at least someone else from here scored today!

As you can guess, it was a no day for me again. I actually didn't feel like going to FSH today, as I woke up kinda late. But determined sis wanted to go so we were back there again. The line was surprisingly "short" even though we were there much later than Saturday and we each had SAs assigned right away instead of appts.

My SA took me to the part of the store where they have scarf rings and eh, I just felt like this is a bad sign. My SA was a cute looking lady, which was another bad sign. Yes, I am discriminating here, against my own gender. But all my fave SAs have been male, in all designer brands.

I also felt like she was rushing me when taking the note for my preferences. So another bad sign. Sis was texting me from the upstairs when my SA left to "check," telling me she got an SA with very scary eyes and rushing her badly, making her forget all the options she had in her mind.

While impatiently waiting for my SA, couple of ladies approached and asked if they can take a pic of my bag. And I guess jet lag and leg pain of standing on the line for more than a hour made me into another person. Plus, I was already annoyed at this point, with so many people taking pics outside. So I kind of snapped at poor lady and said "I'd rather not." If by any chance she's a member here, I am sorry about that. I was just too tired.

SA came back about 10 mins later, of course empty handed. I asked her if she has a KP by any chance, which she chuckled away, adding how that's the most popular bag. I guess I was even more upset as a nice lady I met on the line told me her friend got a B yesterday morning, even when she was after me. So I told this story to my SA and SA said history matters. When they go downstairs to "check," the manager has to approve. And he would give the bag to someone with more history than someone like me who only started buying this year. (I bought things before but in other names) I then questioned about how would they explain about many people who got their bags on a single try, with no Hermes product purchase in their lifetime. She answered, when they do have enough bags, things like that does happen, only at FSH, no other store in the world, as they do have the best inventory. However, when they have limited bags, those would go to the ones with better history.

So... Basically she was telling me they have bags but I can't get it as they don't approve me as their customer. I wanted to cry!

At least I know I can get my bag at places like Vegas or Honolulu if I buy something. They would tell me exactly that. But this darn store has no actual rule. I know many members here talked about nice chats they had with their SAs and such but from my experiences in the summer and this trip, I'm not even given the opportunity to say anything other than bag size and color choices. They all act as if they are really busy and never even offered a drink! Maybe I just have a "reseller" mark tattooed on my forehead that I don't know about?

Meanwhile sis texted she got a "no" as well and SA came back before her drink came out, so she didn't even get to drink it. My reply was "she offered u a drink? I wasn't even asked."

She then went on about how she's at the Christmas decoration section now and she wants an ornament. I tell her it's useless and such small purchase won't do anything to her history of purchase. "Idiot. It's free" was sent back, so upstairs I went to see what was happening.

They decorated a room past the haute jewelry department with a large sled, which you can ride for an photo op. And there was a table on the side with someone doing origami, making things such as Christmas tree or star, to be placed in a clear plastic ball, with Hermes silk tie on top. Sort of petit Hish? I thought cool, at first and scanned the items to choose which shall be my ornament, till it was my sisters turn and learns the fact you are to make your own. The employee was showing how to do it and the customers were to make theirs sitting across, following the steps. As a very impatient person, I left to check out the jewerly section till sis finishes and comes out, met a nice SA there to chat about some possible purchases as a gift to my mother.

And that was it for FSH for me today. Had to run back to my hotel, as I am scheduled to hotel hop this week. I would be checking in and out again tomorrow, (I'm doing shopping while doing the mileage and mattress run to keep elite status trip) so I don't know if I would ever get the time to visit other Hs. After spending all morning at FSH, it gets too tiring to visit the other two. Sis swears she's never going back to Sevres due to condescending SA she met in summer. But I need to get to LV at St Germain, so I'll probably do visit Sevres at least once this trip. George V, sigh, I don't ever need to go to 8th Arr. anymore now Fendi is open on St Honore.

Sis is more upset than me about how Not getting her bag and now saying if they reject her one more time she would just get an Herbag, lol.

Reading that litteraly made my heart break. I am so sorry. I had the same experience, don't know what's tattoed on my forehead but I never was offered a drink, neither in Paris nore in my homestore. I had never the time to talk as well. Entering H in March (with the old system) even my husband and my daughter felt an akward vibe from the SAs after hearing that I was looking for a bag, they instantly gave us a look I'll never forget. I hated that experience so much that I swore never ever to set one foot into that etablisment )paris) All the stories I've been reading here and I've been experiencing on my own make me think that they have the same invisible rule as Van cleef (or however they are written) where another TPFler was told that she was not slim enough for their jewelry. Might be that H has a customer type in mind- if you meet the requirements- lucky you, if not... well...
I am sorry for the wasted time, your hurting legs and everything else.

Hi ladies ,

Thank you all for the tips and advices here . A super long post ...

I have just came back from my Paris trip and was one of the lucky ones to have scored something A B30 in etoupe !!
I do agree that the new system is pretty arbitrary . Here is an account of my trip:

Thursday: arrived at 2 pm late and decided to try my luck for an appt. gotten a time for 540pm. It kept getting pushed back until 650... and by the time I was seeing the sa, she told me straight that she won't have anything but she would still check ... obviously she came back with no.
Friday : queued at 9 am, was the 10th in line and gotten an appt for 1130. The sa seems uninterested to take my particulars and came back to said no b, k , Lindy ...
SAt: I tot to myself this is the last try . Queued at 920and was the 8th in line , surprisingly .
Got an appt straight away with an SA . Asked for light or neutral colours. She left and in the meantime, I heard several people around gotten rejected after their SA returns ... And luckily for me,the third time was a charm, she brought me a b30 , in etoupe , silver hw and also a nice apple bag charm !! I was so happy that I wanted to start dancing

In conclusion: I felt that there does not seem to be a system . It's somehow arbitrary and it seems to depend on the SA . But it's also not really helpful since we get assigned random SA unless you ask for a specifx one ...
I feel the frustration for all the girls out there who did not gotten their wish bag . It's not a very good experience to be paying so much and to still have to be begging for it...
Paris has so much to offer to us besides this! I hope the FSH trips did not spoilt the trip for many of you out there ...
good luck to you girls still trying to get their babies from the mothershop ❤️

I'm so sorry to hear the news, @NanamiRyu. I do hope that you have some spare time to enjoy the city, especially since it is probably gorgeously decorated for the holiday. I hope you have fun during the remainder of your trip and hope you find some goodies at the other shops. Thank you for generously sharing your story!

I am sorry for the wasted time, your hurting legs and everything else.

Omg. Van cleef story is the most ridiculous I ever heard. It's a jewerly store! They can resize most of their stuffs. I bought things from there as gifts to my ma and she's a plus size lady. How rude and unnecessary for a SA to say such thing to a customer?

Interestingly though, my sis knows someone who was offered and bought a K and B at the same time, at either Sevres or George V location, after buying some RTW. She likes and wears Hermes RTW, so it wasn't a waste of her money. But this was almost end of her trip, after trying for many days at all three stores. She jokingly commented how it felt like they only prefer to give the bags to the pretty ones. And also suspects that's the reason she kept getting rejected for days till she dropped a huge chunk of money.

She also says as she was paying for her B and K, people kept coming in and out asking for the bags and SAs simply said none avail. When she actually had options to choose for both of her B and K!

Since I'm not "pretty" I guess I have to go the route of buying non leather things like her. It hurts to have spent €1200 for a tiny bag charm yesterday and not have that counted as my history to be approved of as it is after all, a leather item. But you know how H works.

I'm seriously considering watches as options. But did anybody get a success with purchase of an Apple Watch? I'm not really a watch person, but figure an Apple Watch might be useful for some things.

I've been to Paris so many times, nothing excites me these days except shopping, lol. But yes. The decorations are nice. And the SAs at other shops besides H are nice as well! I just got Gucci sneakers I wanted anyway back home and they work out to be $200 cheaper here! Can't wait to visit my usual LV store later. Just wish the cute items I wanted didn't sell out while I was standing on the queue for H.

Thank you and also thank everyone who wished me well here! I somehow never get jealous of any other members here getting their bags from Paris. If it's not given to me, it shall be going to a good home to one of our own. :D

@NanamiRyu, please don't feel bad about yourself. Honestly, there is no rhyme or reason behind who gets bags or not. I visited with my husband last year to be told "No" for 7 days straight. We were told "No" for 2 days before I found a SA who was interested in us as human beings.

It's always super busy at the store, and SAs are so swamped with B/K/C requests all the time that it became second nature to say "no" and then move on. It is very disheartening to be the receiver of these "No", however. I came back to the hotel after each "No" day all sad, wondering whether I was doing something wrong. I felt humiliated for myself and for making my husband lining up for hours outside...

Everytime we visited Paris, I told my husband that I would stick to the rule and to only buy what I dream of getting and cannot be found at Hermes home store. This included not compromising my specific spects for the requested bags. It's so easy to give in to Hermes temptation and take the next best offer of a bag. Otherwise, I would have wasted thousands and thousands of euros to buy frivilous things and may not even get the bag I want.

Just let it roll off your shoulders, and make time to enjoy Paris, or to enjoy other shopping Paris has to offer ;) I tried to do that everyday, and it was so much more pleasant and helpful with lightening up my mood. It also boosted my spirit to gear up for the next morning, lining up at Hermes.

I also reminded myself that even if I was treated poorly by one SA, that I should still be understanding with other SAs. They work just as hard everyday dealing with people like me hounding them for a bag. They also get judged by us for their personality/manner, etc all again because they have to play by the company's "rules", which are elusive!

These bags are beautiful, but it's not worth let them break your humanity or spirit!

It's always a combination of luck + endurance! The right bag will be yours at the right time!!!

Hugs!

Hugs!

This is a lovely post.

@NanamiRyu I'm so sorry that you were not able to find your dream bag. I know how disappointing it feels. I really don't think it has anything to do with you or how you look. I think that SA was very candid and honest with you. The demand for bags exceeds the supply. If they happen to have a lot of bags that day they can accommodate people with less of a purchase history, but when supplies are limited they try to give them to people with a purchase history. It's really nothing personal. I think they would love to be able to say yes to everyone. No one would ever mistake me for a supermodel but with patience I was eventually successful. I hope you will be too.
