I would not be surprised that celebrities are being compensated for their efforts promoting those diet pills.
Even Charles Brinkley is promoting mounjaro.
And this push just happened when production goals have been made….
Plus big push for insurance to reimburse those products???
it could be a good thing if people who are morbidly obese can get this covered by insurance. Personally I'm afraid of it after seeing the pics of sharon osbourne

I remember saving up $20 with my bff to go buy that when we were 9! Isn’t that sad? Diet culture

Ugh. The things women have had to endure because society says so.

I remember being in elementary school and thinking I was fat. I wasn’t. But I also wasn’t a beanpole, just a strong, healthy, active kid. Somehow even then I was aware of the difference, was self-conscious, and tried eating less.

For those really obese, it is a lifesaver but it is also deliberately promoted for minor weight loss by influencers and celebrities, imo.
Oprah was no longer morbidly obese by the time she started mounjaro.
It is a choice but I wonder if it is really an informed choice.
This is now a status symbol, both being able to afford the drugs and be skinny.
And Sunny even claimed that since she is on Mounjaro, her cholesterol is under 200.
Bish, I clocked 230 with pharmaceutical help.
Time will tell.

even with an extra 40 pounds sunny was obviously in very good shape compared to Whoopi at 300 lbs. She looks slender now (probably really skinny IRL) and she's happy.

It’s a time saver for those whom exercise and diet would suffice. It’s an easy way out of having to do the work and be disciplined. I see the temptation, especially for those who really struggle to get past their plateau.

I hope the medical industry can find a way to prioritize the drugs for those who truly need it, both in cost and availability. Those who use for vanity should not have first access and pay a much higher cost. Not sure if that’s how it is happening now.

I think all it tells us is that with every diet under the sun tried by Oprah, plus personal trainers (didn't that Green guy live and travel with her) and her private chef, plus all the time in the world to think, experiment and spend - she still couldn't do it /maintain it without an expensive drug.

It's depressing. lol

She’s definitely put in a lifetime of trying everything possible. So I can’t knock her for going this route. Some people’s body makeup and chemistry simply prevent them from being tiny. It seems to be working well for her so far. I’m sure she has access to the best of everything, from nutritionists to trainers to doctors so I’m sure she is receiving great care while on this current journey to ensure she remains healthy.

It’s just sad to see people who are young and already thin doing this to get thinner because it’s easy and they have the money. It’s a complicated choice.

I'm just ticked because I have finally managed to lose about 10 pounds and people probably think I took it. I just gave up almost all processed foods and quit snacking entirely. I did notice the thinnest people I know just don't eat much. But I can't do that. I like food and I married an Italian who is an amazing cook.
Congratulations on your weight loss! Eliminating junk food is key. You can still enjoy your husband’s cooking. Keep up the good work

I've noticed that too...thin people generally don't eat much. I have a thin friend (getting too thin IMO) who will often say she hasn't eaten all day - no breakfast or lunch. then she will complain that size zero jeans are too big. I tell her try eating something.

Congratulations on the weight loss! It’s a lot of sacrifice but feels good to reach those goals. I hope you can still work in some of your hubby’s delicious cooking!

I’ve always envied people who don’t eat much. My body requires food or else I get hangry 😵‍💫

Good for you and congrats on your amazing accomplishment.
yes, people who are thin do not enjoy food or drinks ime.
What worked for me so far is to give up edibles and alcohol for obvious reasons.
Cant have fun and be within normal weight range. So unfair.

How can you be smaller than size zero? Children sizes?

To get back to Oprah, on her special, she said that she is not hungry at all and no longer thinks about food.
I get it. How can one resist pastries, martini, pastas?
The drug also reduces the urge to drink as well.
It really is a wonder drug so far..
