Nordstrom Returns Delayed Recently?

I celebrated too soon. It's been 72 hours and no gift card in sight. Who knows how long this refund will take to arrive. ‍♀️

Okay - problem solved! Apparently they refunded the entire order to my credit card (even the gift card amount), because I paid for like $2 extra with my credit card. That's kind of nice that my gift card turned into cash somehow. :P So, all in all, my timeline was:

Dropped off my return on 4/11.
It was picked up by Newgistics on 4/16.
Confirmed as returned by Nordstrom on 4/28.
Refund posted on my credit card on 4/28

Sweet! They do that with notes too. I asked the SA and he said that we earned the notes so either way it's ours.

Hey everyone. I have a Nordstrom purchase that I'd like to return. I'm on the fence about returning it by mail, because I'm afraid it'll take a long time (weeks, months) to get refunded, given the pandemic. It's a large purchase for me ($240), so the delay is significant. I could just wait until post-pandemic to return, instead of dealing with the uncertainty of having a return kind of sitting in their warehouse.

So, does anyone have any recent (i.e., within two week) experience returning stuff to Nordstrom.com? Have you gotten your refunds in a timely manner?

(I should note, I'm not judging Nordstrom or any other retailer for delays. These are uncertain times, and they should be prioritizing the health and safety of their staff above all else. I'm happy to have a delay if it means fewer people working or working in safer, more socially distanced situations.)

Thank you in advanced!
Nordstrom received my return on April 1 - my one item return was processed April 29.

The Nordstrom return that I dropped off at the post office and was picked up by the return agent on 4/21 was processed early this am.

When I looked closely at the email it showed that only one of two identical items was processed though. I called customer service and held for about 45 minutes. The representative assured me that this was not unusual even though the items were in the same box, are identical and on the same packing slip. She said that the other item should get processed within 24 hours. Doesn’t make much sense to me but I will wait and see.

We will see how long my patience and understanding remains.

I sent in a bunch of different orders in one box and usually within a day or so they all get processed. Just keep track of it and if more than 2-3 days pass then give them a chat/call

Has anyone tried returning anything to NR by mail? Retail might reopen at the end of the week, but I imagine it may be inundated with people returning things so I may ship a few things back instead.
