Nordstrom Returns Delayed Recently?

Has anyone tried returning anything to NR by mail? Retail might reopen at the end of the week, but I imagine it may be inundated with people returning things so I may ship a few things back instead.
I have. It took about 3 weeks to receive credit back to my card. They do charge for shipping for return so keep that in mind. You might want to wait until Friday (if you are in Ca) to return because they may start curbside pick up/return which will save you return shipping fee and the long wait for credit back to your card.

I sent in a bunch of different orders in one box and usually within a day or so they all get processed. Just keep track of it and if more than 2-3 days pass then give them a chat/call
Thank you. That is reassuring. If my second item is not processed in 2 or 3 days I will call/chat.

An update for you guys: I originally posted that I sent out my return package to Nordstrom on 4/08 and it was still in transit 4/24. Multiple items totalling over $1500 was in that package! Just as I was getting anxious, they processed the return later that day, but one item $150+ was missing! The rest was completely processed.

I called a few days later and they told me that because it was purchased in store, that particular item will take longer to process than others...... 4/07 today am still waiting! So be warned: if anyone is returning in-store items, they will take longer!

I’m very frustrated with Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. I understand a lot of businesses are working at light capacity but they are apparently really struggling. They’ve canceled several of my orders for inventory issues. And haven’t credited me back for the cancellations. An order I placed online at Rack 5 days ago showed 4 of the item in stock. But it was canceled today for inventory issues, not being available? What happened to the other three? If they’re filling orders in the order they are placed mine shouldn’t have been canceled. Also an order canceled 4 days ago still hasn’t been credited. I’m hesitant to make returns because I can’t even get refunded for their cancelations.

My 2nd item in my previously mentioned return was still not indicated as being returned after 48 hours. I called customer service again. I held for about 40 minutes this time.

The representative was very helpful and said that she had credited my account for the second item. So my return will hopefully show up as two separate credits.

I reread my original post and I apologize @OogleAtLuxury if it sounded like I was on my high horse. My take home message is that returns are taking longer and the processing of returns is not what we experienced before.

@lilmountaingirl I have also noticed that Nordstrom and the Rack are very quick to charge your credit card for items now. I might be mistaken but previously I don’t think that you were charged until the item was shipped. I also had a Rack purchase that I was charged for, was canceled and then I received a credit. This probably took about 2 weeks.

Only part of my most recent purchase from Nordstrom has shipped and I have already been charged for it.

I like to pay my credit card in full so I am really going to have to keep track as I am theoretically going to pay for some items that I haven’t received yet or have already returned.

Admittedly I have engaged in a fair amount of retail therapy and should probably hit pause until things are a little calmer and more organized.

@Mimmy I also noticed that NR charges before items ship, which isn't right. I ordered two items for my mom on 4/18 and they shipped one and like @lilmountaingirl experienced, one item was cancelled yesterday due to inventory issues. However, my mom's card was charged within days of placing the order and her payment was due 5/6 so she had to prepay even though nothing was received.

My experience with NR orders has been good so far, although it took two attempts to cancel an order this week. The first time the CS rep said they would have to submit a ticket to look into the status of the order and it would take 3-5 days. The second time the CS rep was able to cancel the order on the spot. I used the chat function both times. Almost all of my orders have shipped from San Bernardino, whereas my mom's items were shipping directly from the brand, which may explain the delay and fulfillment issues.

If NR refers to Nordstrom Rack I sent in a return on April 28 and was received by returns agent at the main post office on April 29 but no word yet from NR and I do not expect a credit for another couple of weeks (which is what regular Nordstrom is taking). It also costs $6 or so to make the return there.

Grrr...I was sent the wrong item! I tried chat but I keep getting a spinning circle.
Same here. I ordered a carryon suitcase I and was sent a backpack. I called customer service and no answer (recording said 'your wait will be 2 hours or more' and the chat wouldn't load) so I posted on twitter and they got back to me pretty promptly. She said she made a note in my file so that when they get the return there shouldn't be a problem. We will see.

Until then I am severely restricting online purchases as returns are a real pain anywhere you go.

:annoyed: That's disappointing to hear. I tried calling and doing online chat a few times at different times , but the wait time is too much for me! I'll see what I can do. Thanks for sharing your experience.:flowers: Between this and Sephora taking too long to ship I am done with online shopping for now.:girlsigh:

The cancelation rate on my recent orders is 45%. I feel like this is unacceptable. 45%? They do not have a good handle on their inventory at all. Also I feel like they’re just kind of hovering in limbo without a real cohesive plan to reopen many of their stores. My Nordstrom store closed permanently so I only have a Rack and most retailers are getting ready to reopen but no word on the Rack. I’m not even sure it’s going to reopen. The stragglers of my orders, that took forever to shop are trickling in so I guess I’ll make a mail return and wait out the three to four weeks ugh.

Guys I have a question regarding how to get a price adjustment. I ordered a pair of shoes in late April and received them later than expected, which I did not mind, because it is not like I have anywhere to go right now (lol). The shoes were big on me and I wanted to get a size smaller. It so happened when I was browsing that my smaller size was in stock and immediately placed an order of the same shoe. I received the order today and the shoes look visually used on the bottom. I have never experienced this before from Nordstrom. I want to keep the shoes because I like them so much but I have never got used shoes from them before. And here is the thing, the smaller size shoes cost 17 dollars more the bigger size.I am definitely returning the first order as the size is too big. I tried to call the Nordstrom help line, wait time was 60 mins. What should I do?

Strict price adjustment policy of two weeks within order date.
