This has to be one of the most amazing combinations of scarves/bag/accessories I have seen! And by the way, I am so jealous of your new Pico!! I will only consider gold toned hardware on bags and jewelry, and I would love a Picotin, but the palladium hardware always holds me back...but yours....:cloud9:
Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful H adventures with us!
Aww....thanks Bova. I don't even use a real camera to take my photos. It's just an old iPhone 5S. Really, the Hermes scarf and jewelry make taking nice photos easy.

Hi MYH! I blame you! I've been reading your thread so much that I finally convinced myself to buy a 90
No worries. I will take the blame. I can handle it. How wonderful! I heard you also got a Pico recently too? Please share!

MYH, I also feel ambivalent about jersey but your blue bolduc is beautiful! I only own one jersey, a 90 cm Chevaux de Karnak in purple, bamboo, and teal. I love the design and the mousseline colors did not inspire me, so I went with this one. I figured, I ought to have one jersey, right?

WRONG!!! It is one of my least worn scarves as it just looks so flat and uninspiring on. I wish it had the crispness of a silk twill, which is also why I don't like the plume 140s. Another scarf format that I have one of and rarely wear.

Re: ELeK, I wish the H gods would listen to our pleas but as has been discussed in the Fall 2016 thread, so many patterns I like but can't find a suitable cw. I dread H re-releasing ELeK and not liking the colors. Oh the horror!!! :rain:
I know what you mean about flat and uninspiring. Especially in cowboy it lacks....um....liveliness? But I think folded as a bias and worn around the neck in a necklace knot could be casual and chic? And I too worry about weird cws for eLenK if it ever gets reissued. But we'll just have to wait and see as with everything else H! :D

:girlsigh:your KEllyCut is just so lovely MYH I long for one now (for my pretend lifestyle)
Thanks essiedub. Well, if you go ever go out to eat dinner at night with DH or friends, then I think a kellycut could be for your real life! It's so useful at night.

you said it PocketBookPup ...that's what I am .. your MYH scarf groupie sista. She's the great enabler...for sure.[/QUOTE]

Add me to your scarf groupie list! I'm so enjoying your stories - this is such a wonderful thread! I have a business trip to Lyon in the fall and because of your wonderful descriptions of H in Paris, I've decided I need to extend my trip so I can check out petit H at Sevres!

You gals are too kind. Scarf groupies!!! :lolots: Only on TPF!

Thank you dear MYH! I often wear the FP simply draped over my shoulders with the triangle point down my back. Then I pop on a long sweater, trench coat or leather jacket and allow the lovely tendrils of silk peek out of the sides. No tying necessary!!

I also like to roll it, rather than doing a bias fold technique, which gives it a nice effect. I also wear it on my head, a la Marilyn Monroe, when driving my convertible with the top down!

One last bit, if you play with it you can definitely fold it into a square. I do this all the time when I put it in my MaiTai scarf "book" while traveling. I agree they are a pain to fold into a triangle but a dream to wear! Lol!

You look so great in yours! I really like how you've tied them! Please do reconsider putting them into rotation this summer!! I'm with you on not being able to wear either of mine (square or triangle) as a top. My boobies are just to big and I'm nowhere near a size 2 at the moment. [emoji24]

I'll try and put together some pics for you, but I just spent the morning spring cleaning and I'm wiped!
I have no patience for folding these triangles in squares. I need to channel Marie Kondo. She would surely approve of your square folding. Your image of wearing your silk jersey tied around your head when driving your convertible sounds so chic! Tell me you wear big sunglasses too. Perfection!

I love the jersey but only have the 90 format! Your two are fabulous! Love the en desorde bold graphic. It us a lot easier wearing a tee shirt under the top. I don't like being chilled but they are perfect for hot climates. Thank you for your sweet words but the only Elk twill that I nearly bought was the taupe, Aqua and pink one. The pattern was too tiny on my person, like many of the AF designs can be. I'm like froufrou on this, graphic scale suits my wardrobe a lot better! My jerseys are The Taro and CMSC. And I am a size 10, not 2 but somehow the 90 format ties perfect.
You have a CSMC jersey? Lucky girl! I should have bought one. Can we see?

These are both really beautiful! I wasn't familiar with inter jersey scarves. They look great on you.
Thanks PbP. Oh yes, another format to discover. Silk jerseys! We still need to get you into clic clacs first though.

MYH- I was rolling in bed this morning when I saw your post and seeing that you brought this design up makes me :crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:. Love your story on a renewal love but it is sad for me because at the height of my H scarf craze, I had three CWs of this design. I was caught in the moment as the design was very popular that season. Unfortunately, I bought the orange CW of the silk version and two other CWs in the CSGM. First, the orange CW didn't work as the color was too sharp and too much orange tones in it. The CSGMs were okay but I must say that the crane eyes were giving me the goosebumps. I couldn't get rid of them no matter which way I try the bias fold so I finally let go of all of them. It was a rude awakening that I have a fear of animal patterns, especially big eyes showing on the clothing. So now I'm not buying the Tiger Tiger or other designs with big eyes staring at me. Am I pathetic or what ???
Say it ain't so!!! You had 3 cws of eLenK and you released them? Oh my goodness. OK, OK. Let's all calm down. Bygones. If the crane eyeball didn't work for you, then it wasn't meant to be. And I understand sometimes orange can be difficult to wear.

You make wearing these look incredibly easy!! And the colors on the bolduc - those are my colors...
You know what? As I was taking photos...I was thinking the exact thing. Klynneann loves these colors.

oh whew Sickgrl13 and MYH, I thought it was me...I can't get my jersey pointu to amount to much either. Though MYH, your postings down below give me some hope. I'll give it another go. I do have 2 jersey squares and those are also floppy. There is one scarf card knot that does work so I'll post that.

OK, I was going to post about some other scarves today but since Blushingnude brought up the large jersey pointus, I decided to go where the wind blows.

I will be the first to admit, I don't wear mine often. I have exactly 2. One is the en desordre in the knotting cards Blushingnude posted and the other is a purple/turquoise bolduc. I really like both of them but I tend to not reach for them. But I think I need to rectify that situation. Thanks BN for reminding me I had them in my scarf collection.

I bought them because they are incredibly soft to the touch. I could not resist taking them home. I was kind of a scarf newbie back then and had no idea how I was going to knot or tie them. I just couldn't leave them at the boutique. They were so soft. I think I bought them in the spring of 2013 but since then, I don't see as many around. I think only Flamingo Party was issued in this format recently. The border has a very sturdy knitted detail in a contrast color. And they come in a really cool triangle H box.

At first I thought they were indestructible. But after I wore my en desordre carelessly on a plane and got a big ole snag in it, I realized I had to be a bit more careful than I was being. It's not to say they are fragile. They're not. They're actually really sturdy. You just gotta still be kind of careful. After all, they are silk.

OK, you will not see me modeling my silk jersey pointu as a top. I'm going to put that right out there. First, I think you need to be a size 0 or 2. Second, you need to be small chested. Third, you need to be comfortable not wearing a bra. I fit exactly zero of these three criteria so you will have to oogle the beautiful model on the scarf knotting card if you want to see it worn as a top.

Would I buy more? I don't know. Because the two I have are different than all the other scarves in my drawer, I tend to feel they will require extra work tying and I'm usually in a rush to get out the door. But you know, now that I've flung on my bolduc one to snap some photos for you folks, I can see that it's really quite easy. Hmmm...maybe I should rethink them. Oh and also, folding them up is kind of a pain. They don't fold well into squares so you gotta do the triangle. And that totally messes up the feng shui in my scarf drawer. So the two I have are just kind of flung into a scarf "junk" drawer. Do you guys have this as well? A scarf junk drawer. In mine, I have my cashmere brush, jersey pointus, gavroches, non-H scarves, DH's pocket squares, and random scarves that need washing. I know, I know....this is no way to treat my scarves.

So if some of you have these cool jersey pointus, please pull them out and show us how you tie them! I want to know too.

Here are pics of my En Desordre and Bolduc. And I finally downloaded an app to blur my face so you can see I wore it to the Reagan Library standing in front of his plane.

OK, sneaking in sometime this evening to write a post. I finally set aside time this afternoon to wash some twillies that were looking a bit grungy. Gross. And I got to thinking...how many do I have? I don't even know. (I just counted. The answer is 14. That's not too bad) And to be honest, I only realized last night as I was gathering them up that I think I am missing one. So I searched high and low and found 2 (only thought I was missing 1 ) in a suitcase pocket neglected. Yes, I have a twilly problem. I can't even keep track of them.

OK, first a little about washing. I use the Laundress silk soap and dump some (read instructions) into a huge mixing bowl filled with cold water. I do this in my kitchen sink. I don't wash like colors with like colors. They all go in the same batch. They will be fine. The ones I feel are especially filthy, I will rub soap onto directly and rub between my fingers and palms to really work the soap in. Then I swish and swish for a couple of minutes in the soapy water and then I grab all of them at the same time and plunge the whole lot into another bowl of cold water to rinse. I dump out the soapy water and rinse and repeat about 3 times until I feel like all the soap is gone. Then I squeeze some water out with my hands and transfer onto a towel and roll up the towel with the twillies in it to get as much water as possible to absorb into the towel. Then just lay them out on a bed to dry. In about 2 hours, they should be pretty much dry and I then run an iron on silk heat setting right over them. Good as new!

OK, back to why I love twillies. There are so many reasons. First it's function. Now I consider myself a clean person but I do realize that there are times I have sunscreen, lotion, sticky hands...and I cringe at the thought of getting my bag handles dirty. So as soon as I bought my first kelly, I bought some twillies. At first, I didn't give much thought to the cw or design. If I liked it, I would buy it. But like all collections, I started rounding out the colors I didn't have AND I'm still working on it. Now unlike scarves, twillies don't need to "light up your face" or match with your spring, summer, fall, winter coloring. Thank goodness. This is the beauty of buying twillies. It's so much easier. All you have to do is make sure it looks good on your bag and H bags by definition are attractive objects so pretty much any twilly looks good on it as long as the colors coordinate. I do know some people think twillies on bags is too fussy. I think it's all in what cw and design you choose as well as how you tie it. I myself am an asymmetrical one-tail gal. I think if you like a really streamlined look, you can even go no tails. Just tuck the tail in so it doesn't show. Two-tails to me is too symmetrical and a little fussy for me. Also, I tend to not choose a twilly thats a complete contrast from my bag. I kind of like the twilly to have at least a little of my bag color in it and some other fun colors as well. I will show you some examples in a moment. So it's harmonious but not completely match-matchy. I don't know if any of this makes sense. Sorry. I will let the photos do the talking.

Oh and for those of you who feel you kind of have a scarf buying problem - guess what? The good news is twillies don't count! Yes you heard me. It's true. They are just little pieces of silk and you don't need to count them in your scarf collection. So if your spouse says in an exasperated tone "You are going to buy another scarf?" You can say "No, twillies are not scarves! They are strips of silk and they don't count!" MYH said so on TPF. Just direct them to me. I will explain why.

I know some people wear twillies around their necks but I don't. Sometimes I will tie it onto a farandole and create a farandole/twilly necklace but I don't use it as a scarf. I like it on others and those with slim necks can do the mors ring scarf ring thing, but I can't. I have accepted it. I have also seen people tie them around the handles of their picotins and it looks great. I've just never tried this myself. I kind of like it as a bow on my picotins. It's really easy to be creative with them and I've even tried tying them onto non-H bags. My sis has a vintage BV bag and I tied a twilly onto it by weaving it through the grommets. I took a photo and showed it below. Use them on your non-H bags too! Don't be shy.

The things I do use my twillies for:
1) Create a twilly/farandole combo necklace
2) Make a bracelet
3) Tie it on a summer hat
4) Tie it on my kelly handles
5) Tie it on my evelyne for a pop of color
6) Tie it as a bow onto my picotins

Things I know other people do with them:
1) Use it with a mors scarf ring as a cute necklace
2) Headband
3) Scarf
4) Tie around ponytail
5) What else? I'm sure there are a million uses

Oh and also, if you want to learn how to tie the twilly rose, check out this youtube video by The Family of Love. I hope it's ok to post the vid here. She shows six ways to tie a twilly and the rose is one of them. This is a great video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84GoJTbaSuM

OK, enough of me babbling. Here's some pretty pictures.

You are inspiring me with all the Twilly Talk and accompanying glamour shot of them all lined up. I've resisted them til now. In fact, have never been tempted. But Mythiques Phoenix or Les Leopards could push me down the rabbit hole. But since you insist they don't count, what's the harm?

JRTgal - another really good reason to get into twillies. When you have the itch to buy something at Hermes but you are supposed to be "good", this is a good quick boost of Vitamin H. It doesn't cost much but you have a new plaything.

No harm at all lol! Join the club... ;)
Yes, we need to bring everyone to the dark side.....bwahahahaha

Thanks! My sis was feeling uninspired with her bag which was passed down from her BF's mom. I said, let's jazz it up with a twilly and I wound it through and she was so pleased with it. But then I had to give her a twilly from my collection.:cray::panic:

Here you go dear - CMSC jersey - the 90's really stretch out great for tops. It is my only jersey so far, along with the Taro. I released a navy blue Mors many moons ago.

Re: twillys : i love them but like my H bags naked. I just love to see the clean lines of my bags, though I see that you do a great job dressing yours up, especially with charms! So I fell for a Les Leopards this afternoon and not sure how I will use it- but the colors just were too fun to pass up! Will post a photo on the SS thread tomorrow.

JRTgal - another really good reason to get into twillies. When you have the itch to buy something at Hermes but you are supposed to be "good", this is a good quick boost of Vitamin H. It doesn't cost much but you have a new plaything.

Yes, we need to bring everyone to the dark side.....bwahahahaha
I am totally on board with this Need to be Good vs Need a Shot of Vitamin H reasoning!

And on the subject of twillies, mors and fandarole...Maybe you could try this combination?

What a beautiful collection of twillies and your ideas for tying one on are so fun. Will see if my new one works out. I am twins with the MP on. That and the en Desorde below are the two I actually do wear now and then when I don't feel like a scarf or shawl. They have the right scale and balance of graphics and pattern for me. Thanks for sharing these great ideas!

Just lovely, as always, Lanit. And I can't wait to see which Les Leopards you chose!
