Hunh, I didn't realize the pointus were so big!

I have the Flamingo Party jersey and it's basically a 140 cut in half on the diagonal. I didn't like it at first, but after a few tries (and with the help of my SA) I LOVE it!! At first I thought it was very limiting, but really you can wear it just like any other square scarves (some of the fancy knots excluded).

The soft drape is so beautiful to wear and it's great in the summer for its breathability. Now that I have the triangle, I don't wear my squares as often [emoji4]

MyH is right, the model is tiny. You can totally wear either square or triangle as a top, if you are petite, bc the fabric has a nice stretch.

I had Ex- Libris en Kimonos 90cm in my collection, but sold it!! I know, I know..how could I? I had the black/sepia/lagoon colorway. I don't remember the exact names. It didn't work with my blondish hair. But, here is the hard lesson learned... I let my hair grow out to its natural color over this past year. It is now a platinum, bright silver, and it would have gone perfectly with the scarf! So,consider long and hard before selling a grail scarf :smile1:

Hi TGG - for a regular halter, yes a 90cm silk jersey in a regular square will work. She wanted the scarf in this knotting cards diagram that's used with a mors ring to make a top. I have this exact scarf and it's called en desordre and it's a big silk jersey pointu (triangle). You can even see that it's a triangle in the drawing at the top where the instructions begin.

Gotcha.
I've done this with the mors ring and silk jersey scarves but with the over the shoulder trick.
Like others here, I had no idea that the pointu scarves were large enough or that the diagram was depicting a triangular scarf. Thought they folded it.
Thank you for that clarification.

The original pointus are tiny ! These are the larger ones.
I'd get barred for indecency if I show the pointu have worn like this :D:D:D

Oh, this! I'm sure I haven't seen all the cws this scarf comes in, but for sure so far I hadn't really seen one that completely spoke to me. Until now. THIS is the cw I want!! I am not going to go crazy and go on the hunt for it, but maybe, one day, the H gods will smile down upon me and I will be lucky and just happen to find it. One can dream, no?
Don't worry dear. We will find you one. And yes, the cw I have is very wearable. :D

Yo Hermès! What she said. [emoji106]🏻

Twins twins twins!

OK absolutely no fair! :pout: How come you look 100X better in the same scarf than me? I won't hold it against you. You look radiant in yours. Yay twin!

MyH: I agree with PbP that this is one of your funniest posts! Well done and this scarf is STUNNING on you!! It's on my one-day list but luckily it is not a priority for me so if I wait until it is eventually re-issued I won't die from anticipation. You had me doubled over with the Chasse en Inde comment "everyone who wants this scarf already has it!" LMAO. H has truly been on a CenI kick lately. I could do without seeing Brides de Gala for a while too...I think they have re-imagined that design in just about every way possible.

Scarf1: You just HAD to bring up to QM2 scarf!!

PbP: Thanks for the tip on de-plisse-ing the plisse scarves!! I may have to try that next time I see a pattern I like for a steal. They are almost always much cheaper than the non-plisse version. Do you just wash it and iron out the pleats?

Pirula: You are always a beauty!
BJS - thanks for understanding my humor. I'm sure most people thought I was three sheets to the wind. Your attitude about finding one is very zen. I was more 'frantic'. And I agree with you on BdG.

LOL MYH - you really know how to nail the scarf addicts here on their high demands. Firstly, ELK is my FAVORITE CSGM and I love it so much that I don't have the silk twill version! When it was first issued as a 90 it looked so terribly busy (and matronly) on me that I kept thinking why the heck does it work for everyone else?

I waited and the season was over, then out rolled the CSGM. So many gorgeous colorways to choose from. After seeing all the gorgeous colorways I decided on the blue one! One day I will tell you the adventure Ms. Blue ELK had (perhaps at the next tpf meet)!

So here is my one and only. And the only other designs I really wish H would reissue is Turandot and La Femme, though I already have three La Femmes. And I am so sick of CenI that I don't wear my one cashmere 90 fringe version though it is a totally cool fuschia colorway. TGIF!

P.S. Hope you and DH feel better soon! There is a nasty virus going around...
Oh my love! How could you not find a 90cm that suited you? Everything looks good on you. I'm not just saying that. Well I'm happy you found a 140 CSGM that you love. Your cw is so springy and fresh! Love it and thanks for sharing.

Lol scarf - ELK is happy to be back in my scarf tansu for sure.

Here is the wonderful ODE to ELK thread. For your drooling pleasure MYH.

Looking through this Ode to eLenK thread has made me go from silently weeping to hysterical crying! :roflmfao:

This is so beautiful!
Thank you dear!

Oh my! Your flamingo party is gorgy! Care to model it for us here? It's really a great scarf for the summer too because it is light and silky.

Oh no! What did you do? OK, bygones. Let's not look back. Let's look forward. I think I would have given an organ for your black/sepia/lagoon cw.

Thank you!

OK, I was going to post about some other scarves today but since Blushingnude brought up the large jersey pointus, I decided to go where the wind blows.

I will be the first to admit, I don't wear mine often. I have exactly 2. One is the en desordre in the knotting cards Blushingnude posted and the other is a purple/turquoise bolduc. I really like both of them but I tend to not reach for them. But I think I need to rectify that situation. Thanks BN for reminding me I had them in my scarf collection.

I bought them because they are incredibly soft to the touch. I could not resist taking them home. I was kind of a scarf newbie back then and had no idea how I was going to knot or tie them. I just couldn't leave them at the boutique. They were so soft. I think I bought them in the spring of 2013 but since then, I don't see as many around. I think only Flamingo Party was issued in this format recently. The border has a very sturdy knitted detail in a contrast color. And they come in a really cool triangle H box.

At first I thought they were indestructible. But after I wore my en desordre carelessly on a plane and got a big ole snag in it, I realized I had to be a bit more careful than I was being. It's not to say they are fragile. They're not. They're actually really sturdy. You just gotta still be kind of careful. After all, they are silk.

OK, you will not see me modeling my silk jersey pointu as a top. I'm going to put that right out there. First, I think you need to be a size 0 or 2. Second, you need to be small chested. Third, you need to be comfortable not wearing a bra. I fit exactly zero of these three criteria so you will have to oogle the beautiful model on the scarf knotting card if you want to see it worn as a top.

Would I buy more? I don't know. Because the two I have are different than all the other scarves in my drawer, I tend to feel they will require extra work tying and I'm usually in a rush to get out the door. But you know, now that I've flung on my bolduc one to snap some photos for you folks, I can see that it's really quite easy. Hmmm...maybe I should rethink them. Oh and also, folding them up is kind of a pain. They don't fold well into squares so you gotta do the triangle. And that totally messes up the feng shui in my scarf drawer. So the two I have are just kind of flung into a scarf "junk" drawer. Do you guys have this as well? A scarf junk drawer. In mine, I have my cashmere brush, jersey pointus, gavroches, non-H scarves, DH's pocket squares, and random scarves that need washing. I know, I know....this is no way to treat my scarves.

So if some of you have these cool jersey pointus, please pull them out and show us how you tie them! I want to know too.

Here are pics of my En Desordre and Bolduc. And I finally downloaded an app to blur my face so you can see I wore it to the Reagan Library standing in front of his plane.

LOL! I don't meet any of your 3 criteria either! Gave me a good laugh!

I have never considered this format, but you make them look amazing. Ok, you make any scarf look amazing!

These are fabulous esp the En Desordre!!! Such a wonderful format. I have no jersey silks OR pointus as of yet but I would like to add at least one of each to my collection. I love how they are a bit stretchy even though I'm not crazy about the machined trim...the hand-rolled hems are just such a special feature of higher end scarves...but I can understand how it is necessary on the jersey.

But please oh please don't throw these beauties in a "junk drawer"! GASP! Why not store them in their H pizza boxes? HAHA

Oh BJS - I threw those boxes out when I moved. They were these humongous triangle things and didn't fit into any box. And forget about trying to find space for them in your closet! That's why they are in my "junk" drawer. Eeeek.
