I think I was supposed to post this. My birthday present and newest 140 cm: Les Chemins Secrets 02 petrol/beige/marine. :cloud9: And a couple clics. :graucho:

Happy birthday klynneann [emoji322][emoji322][emoji322][emoji322]! What beautiful gifts!!! I am absolutely in love with chemins!!! Apart from tapis this is one of my favorite favorite designs in the silks!!! Love the color of ur clics! Twins with u on the yellow one [emoji173]️[emoji173]️

OK, last session and then let's see how you guys and gals have been wearing your 140 giant silks. Session 3 - the bias fold without a knot in the back of your neck. Some knots don't need a "safety knot" tied in the back since the whole creation is well balanced.
Example 4: See next post. Ugh! I have maxed out attachments.

Hi honey locks - sure, here you go. It's kind of a wild scarf.

Thank you for the great tutorials! They are wonderful reference material. I love the colors on these scarves, especially the contrast hems. I'm trying to catch up :)

I am always honest and so have to say I thought despite your generous advice and brilliant how-to sessions , nothing would make me like these huge slippery pieces of silk .
Look at the necklace knot, it shows the part of the scarf I love so much. Clapping!

MYH, I am enjoying this thread SO MUCH! I got behind and it took me 3 days to catch up. I'll try to stay on top of things because there is so much great sharing here! Anyway, my only 140 is a Cliquetis DD in the most luscious cranberry/wine colors. These pix really don't do it justice.
Then the classic weave knot. Warm and pretty.

The red/pink colors of both scarves are just gorgeous. Frou frou and Momasaurus, you wear them beautifully!

Klynneann - those items are awesome gifts! I love that cw of chemins. Right up my alley. Can't wait to see mod pics.

Congratulations! I love this color of Chemins and your Clics :smile1:

Yeah! Happy belated birthday. They are beautiful. Twins on the scarf. One if my favorites.

That's really beautiful. Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday, klynneann! Beautiful silk and bracelets.

Thank you, everyone! My DH really knocked it out of the park this year. Well, I had a wish list put together, but I was just expecting one item and I got three! I love this cw of Les Chemins - it just screams denim to me, and casual. Paired with camel or brown, it might also say a little 70's, which is perfect for this season. :amuse:

Sounds perfect! We want modeling photos when you have them.

Hey Silkies! Sorry for the long intermission but it's been a hectic week. If all goes well, we might be adopting a dog tomorrow from the animal shelter. And then I will have a new model for my scarves! I hope my new doggy likes to model silks.

I wanted to say thank you to all that have responded and contributed to this thread. I do love reading your comments and even though I sometimes do not have time to respond to everyone individually, I do love the company and read all the comments. And it does make me so happy to know that I have saved many from silk scarf strangulation from tying those 140s. The analogy of tying a parachute around ones neck has me dreaming of parachutes made out of silk 140s. Then I would have to take up skydiving LOL! It was great fun for me to put together the tutorial and I'm glad so many of you enjoyed the little tricks I suggested.

OK, I thought I would return to an early request for my favorites. So today, I wanted to feature Fleurs d'Indiennes. I love love flowers and one of my favorite things to do is to make flower arrangements. My fantasy is to have an unbelievable cutting garden that I can go to every week and make an arrangement with what's in bloom. To add some interest to this thread, I've included a picture of some arrangements I have made in the past. I usually don't go for fancy flower shop flowers. I just look in my local supermarket or trader joe's and make the most of what's in season. The fun is in the challenge! And combined with the Year of India theme, this scarf is just so unbelievably pretty. DH and I also were fortunate enough to take a trip to India earlier this year and I was just blown away by the flower garlands that were for sale at the local market. I've also included a pic of the flowers I saw from that trip.

This scarf is interesting because I wouldn't classify it as a pastel or a bold color scarf. This cw lies smack dab in the middle. There are some lovely light blues, lavenders, yellows and greens. But then there's a pop of blue izmir so intense on some flowers, your eye can't help but be drawn to the saturated jewel colors as well. And the lavender contrast hem really tops it off. But it's undeniable that it's pretty and soothing on the eyes. It might be the only scarf I have with a brown background so I do reach for it quite easily when I'm wearing tan/camel tops. I think Pirula also fell under the spell of this scarf in my same cw recently so if you're looking for it, I think there's still hope it may pop up from time to time.

I love to wear it with my blue izmir behapi, MOP VCA necklace, and a blue topaz pomellato ring. It also goes quite nicely with Gris T which I have in an evelyne and a kelly. So here she is as well as some other flower and India pics.

Spectacular my dear MYH!! Such a gorgeous and versatile scarf!! So many beautiful colors! Totally goes with ur beautiful evie[emoji173]️[emoji173]️... On a separate note how exciting it must be to adopt a dog!!! So happy for u and what a lucky dog to not only belong to a beautiful family but to be able to model all ur silks? Super cute [emoji3][emoji3]

Thank you. I think it has a 70ies vibe.
Is it regular twill or thin summer plume?
That year, I believe they called it a washed silk. But if I had to classify it, I would say it's the weight of a regular twill and not a summer plume.

Dear MYH, I thoroughly enjoyed reading all your threads as they were so useful and it makes me love my 140cm silk even more. Thank you so much for sharing.
You're welcome Maldives! Thanks for letting me know you are enjoying this thread.

You're welcome Moirai. Thanks for stopping by!

Don't you love it when our DH's overdeliver? Yay. Your Chemins would look wonderful with denim. I totally agree. Your collection of 140's is rapidly expanding! :yahoo:

Love your scarf and the way you wear it. Your floral arrangements are also wonderful. I prefer simple arrangements with just a few types of flowers like this. We had a fabulous florist in Boston but here in RI dear husband has learned to specifically instruct them to leave out the baby's breath. I have almost given up and do as you do with simple flowers from the grocery store. Good luck with the puppy. Can't wait to see photos.

Sending you flowers in return. This is the florist I walk past every day in Paris when I'm there.
