Aw c'mon. You can't leave us hanging like that! What 2nd tier Grail did you find darling? BTW - this is the first time I have hear a grail referred to in tiers. Under your personal classification system, do you have 3 tiers or just 2?

I was just teasing about your ban. It's winter. You need the 140s for winter survival.

I just have two tiers of grails. And it's a short list now. I found a j'aime mon carre in black grey beige and gold. How could I pass that up? My taste is shifting back to neutrals and subtle colors these days.

I have three 140s. I need to try some of these knots with them. This should keep me busy until my ban is over.

Example 4: Get your mors ring out! Step 1 - Blow off the dust. hahaha. For those without one, I apologize in advance if this knot makes you go out and buy a mors ring. Bias fold the scarf and pull it through the bigger mors loop about halfway. Hang the scarf around your neck now. Take one tail and pull it through both the smaller mors rings. Take the other tail and pull it through the same smaller mors ring too but then feed it back through the outer ring. Feeding one tail through one of the smaller mors rings will help the whole thing stay in place. I like the mors ring to be on a diagonal as I have shown.

OK folks! That's all I have for now. That's 10 ways (including the 3 from yesterday) you can wear your giant silk scarf. Please don't neglect them in your drawer. It's time to bring them out to play! And while you're at it, snap some pics and show all of us please!

AND if you have other clever ways you wear your giant silk, do not be shy! Show n' Tell please! We want to see how you wear yours.

One last comment: For those with maxi-twillies also suffering from neglect, Bias fold knots from Session 2 and 3 also lend well to the MT format too!

Fabulous use of the Mors!!! I see many ladies on here do this with the 90s as well but my neck is too large for it to look good. I think I could make it work with my Mors and a 140 though! You are such a temptress!!! HAHA

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]. I'm dying. Yes there are tiers! Duh!!!!

Thanks dear scarfies on the sweet comments about Session 1. Let's move onto Session 2 using the bias fold as our starting point. In my mind there are two categories of bias fold knots. Those that require a knot in the back of the neck, and those that don't. I use a knot in the back of my neck for the same reason I did it in Session 1 with my cowboy knot. It stops the heavier silk hanging in front of you from becoming too heavy and pulling down due to gravity. Tie the same square knot in your scarf leaving as much room as you would like around your neck. Try to tie this knot so it is neat and streamlined - make it as least bulky as possible. This way, it will be comfortable for you and will not be noticeable to others.

Ok from there, you can do so many knots and there are several ways to wear your scarf. Here are a few examples

Example 3: Do the weave knot! Klynneann - here's how I did this. Hope it's clear. Please let me know if you have any questions. I have found if I don't use a knot in back of my neck, the whole thing unravels in minutes unless the weave is right up against your neck. But I don't like the feeling of having scarves tight around my neck. The other way to achieve this look but with a different tying method is MaiTai's hacking knot. But with these giant silks, her hacking knot is not easy to execute. And it will unravel because one side is much heavier than the other. You need a CSGM for the hacking knot.

Aha!! I think I can do this. I could never figure out how to loop it. I did wear my TP today, but didn't see your post until now. :nogood: Well, I will be wearing a similar outfit on Saturday, so if you can wait until then I will pull out TP again and snap a pic of my attempt. :smile1: Thank you so much for all of these!!! :smooch:

I should have known you gals had a tiered system! I think I need to get more sophisticated in my thinking when it comes to grails.

Thanks for the tip about making the knot in the back! iT might also help with my moussies!
Like you, I hate that strangling feeling!
Yes! Moussies too. Maxi twillies as well. Knot away. Glad I could help scarf 1.

Twillies do NOT count lol!! ;)
This is the law of the land. We all agreed upon this during our last virtual meeting. I have it down in the meeting minutes

BJS - I have a thick neck too for a female. It is far from swan-like so the 140s are the perfect solution.

MyH, thanks for your input! I will definitely have to add a 140 twill to my collection at some point [and most certainly NOT Les Cles! haha]. I still have several grails to hunt down first before committing so much money to one scarf though so it may be a little while. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Tapis 140 in the c/w that Klynneann showcased here but I have TP in gavroche and I have a rule about not repeating patterns since there so many gorgeous ones out there to collect. Chemins is lovely though and could be a possibility:D

Chemins would make a fabulous gavroche!

BJS - I know you said you were eyeing up Chemins but I saw these cws and thought of you. Just saying.

Thanks for your 140cm scarf tutorials, MYH! I have admired many of your pictures, in which you've tied scarves to wonderful effects, so I appreciate you sharing how to achieve those looks. I don't have any 140cms, but perhaps I'll try one out sometime.

A potentially silly question - how do you scarfies eat with so much silk hanging around your neck? I only have 90cms, and at work, I take them off during lunch or arrange them so that the scarf hangs down my back. I don't wear my scarves outside of work because refolding and retying in public is a no go, and 140cms seem that much more voluminous. Just curious how you live in your scarves, since they are meant to be lived in and should not be restricted to times when you are just sitting/standing around and looking fabulous. :smile1: TIA!

Like you I do away with scarves, shawls and even bags if out eating .
A 90 can be knotted behind but these large silks are a back of the chair number for me, often ending up on the floor….

MYH, these tutorials are fantastic!

I don't have any Hermes 140s but I do have a beautiful CH "Zodiac" and one YSL (a mousse) and I am anxious to try these knots for some knotting variety on these as I've never done anything other than a bias and run them through a scarf ring, or belt them down on a dress. :ty:
