I was at an auction in my city recently and saw a 10ct vintage cut diamond on a platinum band, solitaire. I wouldn't mind having it but I don't think I would ever wear it. I'm happy with what I have.

I also saw this yellow one 9.03ct which is loose.

Do you guys really dream about these or wish you had them?
I mean, you couldn't really wear them everyday . . . and believe me, I'm ALL ABOUT wearing fine jewelry everyday, LOL! But non-celebs wouldn't really wear a 10+ carat ring on a daily basis.
Do you dream about that level of extravagance or a more normal luxury that you could get away w/ wearing everyday?

Does this make sense? lol

part 1 of my honeymoon was in nantucket. there i saw a three stone antique diamond ring. it was the most stunning ring i've ever seen- i still think about it- and that was many years ago!!!

It does make sense! LOL!

I don't necessarily stay up at night dreaming about it, but when I see pictures of Khloe's ring, I do wish I had something like that. Don't get me wrong...I love love love my engagement ring. I definitely got the ring that I dream about...my cushion cut halo with an eternity band. :cloud9:

I guess I wonder about that level of extravagance...most of the celebs we see now-a-days have beautiful e-rings but their marriages don't last. I wonder how it would be to have a ring like that in my everyday life...probably not possible, since my patients wouldn't listen to me (they would be staring at my hand, which already happens with my smaller scale ring), and I wouldn't be able to clean or cook :p

yeah, I have 2 sets of dream jewelry! Dream jewelry a SAHM could never pull off - think Liz Taylor. I have no award shows to wear this stuff to!
Then more reasonable dream jewels - like all the pieces I'll ever want - think VCA collection, diamond Cartier Trinity, 3 crt pear solitaire pendant, etc. . . .

Although, I would not mind wearing that round 9ct on daily basis though :p

I'd probably get the same ring I have now (Tiffany classic solitaire 1.5 G VS2) but a 2 carat one (I think I couldn't wear bigger without feeling ostentatious!) with perfect stats!

Reese Witherspoon's 4 carat emerald cut is gorgeous too though!
