Personally yes. One of my business partners wears a 8.9 carat yellow diamond everyday and I love it. Would love to have one like it.
I love my engagement ring and it is certainly more than adequate as fine jewelry, so I don't really dream of a bigger stone. However, before my husband proposed we went to look at rings at a local jeweler that also sold estate jewelry. They had a beautiful antique platinum ring with a center sapphire surrounded by diamonds, somewhat similar in style to Princess Diana's ring, but slightly more art deco. Sapphire is my birthstone, as well. We both loved it, but decided to go more traditional and had a set made, for the same cost. Don't get me wrong, I love my rings and I don't sit around wishing for something different, but that ring was just so cool and unique. If I had to do it again, I have to say I would probably go with the antique ring.
A cushion cut with two half moons is my dream ring! Have loved it since I started the whole search.
I'd get in trouble for saying that considering my bf *just* bought the e-ring but he loved it and picked it and there we go... I'm on board with an emerald cut now.
Besides, because of the way cushion cut diamonds look I'd want it really really big - like definitely 3+ ct center diamond.
At Tiffanys, they had rings just like the picture I posted and I asked the SA how much it was for a 3.5 ct center and then a 5 carat center.
The Answer: "250k and 400k respectively!!!"
"Oh, is that all?"
I mean I know there are other places other than Tiffanys... but I guess a 3 ct center anything was going to be really expensive.

, I'm quite content with the diamonds I have. BUT yes if I had the 9.03 yellow one I would wear it. I may not be a celeb, but in my city normal people are often seen wearing OTT jewlery. Perhaps not on the beach and the grocery, but on a pool party, shopping at the boutiques and in restaurants you see pretty amazing things. Perhaps one should start with a big amethyst or topaz to see if such a size is wearable in everyday life. Like a test drive.
I'm totally getting a Tiffany Sparklers Praseolite cocktail ring, the praseolite is 9ct if I'm not mistaken.
One of the reasons I don't care about Tiffany diamonds are the crazy prices. My center stone is 3.51, and it didn't cost 1/4 million.
If anyone has as vivid dreams at night as mine, they are so detailed, wonderful, and pretty much unbelievable, as they are a dream.
Well, last night I had a dream that my SO proposed to me and the ring in my dream was nothing I'd ever imagined me wanting. I am a simple girl, I'd probably chose a solitare when the time comes.
I have noo idea why this ring was in my dream, and I've never seen one in person but I could see it so clearly in my dream. It was soooo real!!!!
It was a radiant center stone with sapphire trillions on the sides. Now I can't stop thinking about it... lol
Does anyone ever have a dream about a ring they've never even thought about, and did it make you change your mind? or am I the only dreamer here? haha
Also... anyone have my "dream" ring? I'd LOVE to see one!!!! I might not be so simple in my ring choosing after all....

I know, I saw that one too. But there is a tiny difference in the sense that I actually like had a dream about this ring through the night... it was so strange and clear at the same time.. haha I was a little bummed when I woke up.

i THOUGHT i was a complete simple solitaire girl my whole life... I always said get me the biggest nicest quality diamond and put it on a platinum band. call it a day! I was set on this! Without a doubt that was it! No fuss. simple. classic.
Then! I saw another poster from another board get the Tacori 2628rd and almost fainted. This was years ago before I even THOUGHT about marriage and engagement... it haunted me.... Then i tried on Tacori rings in person a few months ago... there was no fighting it and now I have my dream ring!
While the ring was being made I even sat and thought what did I just do! Maybe a solitaire is the way to go... what if i hate the tacori in a few years... etc etc... now that it's on my finger i realize it's everything I never knew I wanted.
My ring SORT of has a solitaire-esque look from the top and the halo is sooooo minute.... but it adds just that EXTRA something personal and signature Tacori that makes it mine and slightly different than the simple classic 6 prong of before. I love it!
