that beautiful peppermint, I LOVE the engraving!

crylater, yours is beautiful too! What size is the solitaire?

hey Swanky, it's 1.262 cts total weight, the cut makes it look bigger than it actually is. It wasnt really expensive either.. but we could've got something waaayyyy bigger with the money DH paid for this one. He said he wanted to get me a diamond of very good quality rather than a bigger one. I  it!

here's a modeling picture :p

Love your set. Do you mind telling me where you got your ering setting and the wedding band?

I noticed a gap between many people's erings and wedding bands. Is it unavoidable because of the size of the diamond?

Its when the setting of the stone is a bit low and flares out steeply from the bottom,or the wedding band is very deep and does'nt 'sit' under the flare of the setting. Mine sit against each other well but because of their size they move about, mainly as I've got knuckles like a gorilla and fingers like birds feet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh,and mines a 1.74ct stone.

OK, so after obsessing and Googling and filing into/out of every local jewelry store I am feeling rushed and overwhelmed and it's making me sad instead of excited
I think I'm going to take DH up on his offer to acquire the solitaire we want and have it mounted on a basic plat band for now.
I saw some photos of Avril Lavigne's solitaire paired w/ some fun delicate bands and I dig it. I'll post some I found, what do you think?

OOooohhh, the overwhelming choice that is around these days can make it quite difficult to choose, and you can get quite overwrought with wanting to get it just right as it will be an expensive mistake if you end up,after a couple of weeks, just liking it and not loving it!!!

In this instance why not buy a couple of fakes, road test them for a bit, thats the best way of making an informed decsion,by wearing it and if you still adore it in a couple of weeks, then get the real thing and give the fakes away to someone who would have a bit of fun with them. Then there is no huge loss and you give a freind quite a pretty present.

I'm doing at the mo with a solitare pendant, and I'm glad I chose this option as I am still a bit undecided after three weeks! And the size of stone I want would be between 1ct and 1.50 ct,it would be a costly mistake!!!!

I love love love band #1! But prefer the diamonds only halfway since I'ld be too scared to knock around the diamonds below. And the diamonds below wont be as visible IMO :graucho: and less diamonds would mean less cost if I had to choose that style:graucho:

A 1.5 -2 ctw solitaire pendant is on my wishlist!!! Maybe on our 10th anniversary LOL and thats 4 years from now:girlsigh:. The thought is making DH go :push: LOL So the best route would be to go for a pre-owned stone ( trying to convince my sister in law to upgrade her diamond ring from a 2.0 to a 3 so I can buy hers at a bargain instead---- silly me LOL:nuts:)

DH has finally realized that jewelry is pretty much what I always want.
If there's not a 'big enough' occasion/event we just combine them to make one! :D
For example, when I decide I want a new piece I start gently letting him know and we may combine Mother's Day, Anniversary and Valentine's Day together for one big honkin' gift since they're all within a couple of months of each other. That way DH isn't pressured to come up w/ a different gift for each and I ultimately get what I want.
