Hello! I’m relatively new to this journey starting in 2021 @ Madison, but then I had a baby and had a 1-year hiatus. This fall I was offered/purchased a Halzan, and since then I’ve gotten a few scarves/stoles, and more recently a hat, 2 scarves for wall decor, and also got a mini Evelyne for my mom’s birthday it was good timing

My SA knows I am interested in K25 (and I think agrees larger sizes don’t suit my very petite frame).

Based on reading some of these threads, have I ruined my chances of getting this bag by getting these 2 other bags relatively recently? I gently mentioned the bag, and she basically said “hopefully”?

She had told me to reach out in March when bags would restock, but then did not reply to me when I inquired. But we did set up an appt in a week from now. Should I bring it up in person?

Any other departments I should consider exploring? I may try some shoes and another hat, maybe some jewelry. Although I love the scarves and bags most; they are artwork to me!
No, those bags won’t count against you, but her hedging is likely due to needing much higher spending for a K25. Mentally prepare yourself for needing 2:1 or more in non-bag spending, depending on the exact specs of your request.

Should I ask what I need to do in a more direct way? I’m kind of shy/passive in this way not sure I even have the guts to ask I’ve never given any exact specs - just the size (I’m pretty open and find the element of surprise kind of fun).

Jewelry can prob get me up there the quickest but yeah not including the bags then I have some ways to go…!

Thanks for your reply!

US stores don’t like to acknowledge the game and will flat out deny that linked spending exists so no, I wouldn’t mention it in any way. Just keep shopping loyally with one SA buying items you actually want and it will happen eventually.

Thank you! I made a mistake in the beginning didn’t know about the loyalty thing but hopefully making up for it now

check out post 13387 and many others if you are in Singapore

or you can read here: post 557 and many others

i do think in Asia it seems more regimented, and I would still advise not calling but asking in person
good luck !
Thank-you for your feedback.

I have made an appointment this weekend to visit my SA. She mentioned that some of the homeware and baby items I wanted has come in, so hopefully I will work up the courage to ask her about the ratio this weekend. After these potential purchases I should reach around 1.5. My birthday is mid March, so hopefully she will remember.

Hi I was just wondering , do sa that work in the leather department have an advantage over rtw sa, jewerly sa, scarf sa in offering bags to clients? Mainly bkc.
Are you talking about in Paris? Because those are really the only boutiques that follow the model of having designated SAs in specific departments versus being able to sell the store

Apparently, the larger flagship stores designate certain SAs to certain departments for knowledge depth/point person reasons. Regardless, I don’t think it matters (in the US) and definitely doesn’t matter enough that one should make any effort to “get” a certain department SA.

They say that RTW and gold jewelry are “best”. Then home I believe.

I would check out their knits and swim which are comparatively affordable and cute!

Sorry if this was asked before, but when is it appropriate to ask to have a wishlist ? Should I wait until she broaches the subject first? I’m new to the H journey and spent about 1:1 so far in about a month span. Will it turn off my SA if I ask? Or give subtle hints without overtly asking ? Or wait until I’m more competitive at a higher spend? She’s a more veteran SA at a competitive store which I’m not sure is a good or bad thing per se, on our first meeting she mentioned she has a lot of clients but we have since then developed a pretty good relationship (or so I think ). Just genuinely buying things I like and would use but I’m slowly reaching the end of that list! Im the type that doesn’t like to have too much excess stuff but I like using what stuff I have over and over again. Would love to be offered a Kelly some day but if I never get one I wouldn’t be too upset since I do enjoy what items I’ve gotten so far ☺️

Hi! I’m having a little dilemma. About 3 months ago I started my Hermes journey in BH. I’ve gotten a birkin and Kelly outside of the US, but I was hoping to try creating a relationship closer to home. I found a SA to work with, but I had to ask for her card and she is not the warmest to me although she has offered me a picotin and brought out a Kelly belt with no problem. This is after about 3 months of working with her. Just recently, I went to the Vegas store and found a SA that I really bonded with. I bought a few things (about 1/4 of my current prespend at BH) and she also offered me a picotin and wrote down her name and number without even me needing to ask. My question is, do I stay with my BH SA since it is my home store and I have more spending history there or go with the new one in Vegas? They’re both honestly really nice, but when I asked my BH SA about a birkin/Kelly I didn’t get the best reaction whereas when I asked the Vegas one she kindly said there was no inventory (which I was totally expecting), but she seemed more interested in working with me.

I would think that you’d stick with whomever you feel would offer you a Birkin or a Kelly, or some other hard to find piece down the line (assuming that would be what you’d like)?

I have two SAs that I work with in SoCal different cities, one offered me a Kelly/Birkin and the other offered me a Picotin/Evelyne like within 60 days of each other.

Both are amazing, but I can’t speak for what I buy since I really only splurge on leather goods and tableware. I honestly never thought I’d be offered a quota bag, but my mindset was that if I had to choose to shop exclusively between my two advisors to be offered one, I would give up the idea of getting a Birkin or a Kelly. so follow what aligns with your goals and who may be able or want to help you get there the most! Cheers!

BH is an extremely competitive boutique. I'd definitely go with the SA that you feel most comfortable working with - after all, it's going to be your SA who has to advocate for you w/ the SM when getting a Kelly/Birkin offer.

I’m in a similar boat (I assume Madison is pretty competitive and my SA also has a lot clients and always busy). I mentioned it at our very first meeting, but I went in blindly my very first time in 2021 and didn’t know/read anything until this last year so I’m trying to learn the nuances as well! I think you should bring it up you only have to gain (she’s not a mind reader)!
