@chibi12 , I am tagging you here since my lengthy reply re whether it’s not best practice to return an on line purchase to FSH for the dual purpose a VAT refund and for building an in store shopping profile is somewhat OT for the Paris FSH thread. This reply could also have gone in the thread unpopular H opinions. . .

I’m sure any FSH SA will do it as part of their job and as a professional courtesy as per @San2222, so you should do whatever you would like to do. If you are concerned, simply ask your SA.

I hold the TPF minority viewpoint that any returns for other than clearly visible defect or unacceptable shop wear (that one was unable to ascertain in person prior to purchase) as buyers remorse. This is why I almost never purchase on line bc I don’t see the point of buying anything that I cannot inspect; try on; and, most importantly, get a knowledgeable second opinion from a professional who knows my taste and current closet, prior to purchase). If I shop on line, I place the order through my local SA as per his preference. All of my SAs appreciate my efforts, and bc I do spend time in other parts of the world, my local SAs have no issue whatsoever with my openly shopping NY, FSH, Manila, Singapore).

Clients who habitually return (I am not saying this is what you are doing but speaking generally) also contribute to the possibility that returned merchandise has an higher chance of another client refusing to accept due to some imagined microscopic defect. I also think that while it is part of every SAs job to process returns, it’s a complete waste of time. My opinion is definitely in the minority and against the viewpoints of most of TPF on this thread and elsewhere.

My FSH SA simply doesn’t care what I buy from her on each visit bc she told me FSH doesn’t have commission structure like the US. My relatively minimal FSH purchases (minimal shopping profile) have not impacted my offers (a K25 and K28 quadrille last year) at all. In addition, they did not impact my local NY offer of a B25 that I received in between the Ks, and I informed all of my SAs of my total QB purchases. I don’t have a wish list. I don’t generally ask for specific bags. My SAs offer what they think might work with my RTW (I’m primarily a RTW shopper). If I fall in love with something, that is in my price range and comfort zone, I buy it. HTH clarify my prior post in the Paris thresd.
this is so helpful! do the returns reset after the 1st QB offer? when I first started the journey I had a few exchanges, (I didn't know they were bad whoops) and wondering after getting offered the 1st QB, do the pre-spend reset as well as the history with exchanges/returns?

its my understanding that prespend does reset in some parts of Asia (In the Singapore thread there is mention that excess is not allowed to be carried over). In the US, prespend is more nebulous. IMO, more depends on your SA relationship; your SA’s pull with his SM; and available stock conditions.

Thanks so much. Very helpful. Lastly, when you submit a wish list, do you focus on one bag at a time? For example Birkins on one wishlist and then Kelly’s on a separate wishlist after you’ve received a Birkin, etc, or do you put all options on one wishlist and submit it, then edit after the 1st bag is offered?

I think it’s better that you ask your SA about it. Different SAs work differently.

I have read enough of the very informative posts of @880 to know that she does not have a bag wishlist!

If you like the bag, keep it. Returning, even to the online store, is a negative mark on your profile. There is no guarantee that your SA will be able to get a replacement bag for you and bag purchases don’t help your profile that much anyway. Next time, however, go directly to your SA instead of shopping on the website.
This is interesting because people have said that web shopping is completely separate from in-store purchases. So they actually do impact each other? (I return a lot from the web, because it's so much easier to order several scarves or shawls to compare colors, etc.)

It’s separate in that buying things online won’t help your store profile toward getting coveted items in store but it’s still all one profile and is seen by the store SAs. Making returns anywhere lowers your “credit score” (for lack of a better term) and makes you look like a flakey customer.

Hey guys, I have a few things to discuss. I've created a Wishlist at the end of 2021 at my nearest store. I've already spent over 1.5:1 but it's still not offered. I don't have my SA yet, and I'm thinking that might be one of the reasons, so I want to have my SA.I shop with a different SA each time and I've received phone calls and emails from SAs. I forgot who made the wishlist with me... in this case, how can I make my SA? Do you think I can email the SA who I think is most helpful and make my SA? Thank you in advance.

Having an SA isn’t a formality that you declare. You just pick one person and only contact them for items and ask for them when you shop in the store. Eventually the other SAs will know you as SoAndSo’s client. Pick the person you’ve enjoyed the most and start being exclusive.

Good to know, thanks! I'm primarily a scarf/SLG person.

Hi everyone a few probably stupid questions regarding FSH. My husband got offered a non quota bag but we didn't really coordinate so he didn't think to ask about a Kelly belt that I wanted as well as twilly to go with the bag. He created a good rapport with the SA (leather specialist) though so he has their number. Questions:
1. Are we suppose to contact the SA for the other items or should we just go to the store and buy them?
2. It looks like we need to apply to the lottery each time we would like to buy a bag despite having an SA at FSH. Is it like this forever or just because it's only our first purchase?
3. Is it ok to WhatsApp the SA to let them know we are coming to do some shopping or not worth it? It looks like the leather specialists are really busy with back to back appointments there so I don't want to be a nuisance/insure how to manage it...
4. I am based in the UK, does it makes sense to only stick with FSH since they offered us a bag or should we get those smaller things (accessories & shoes in my case) locally?

Thank you and sorry if this was previously answered...

If you want to build a relationship, contact the SA. I assume that’s why the SA gave your DH the number. Incidentally, my DH also has great rapport with my FSH SA.
2. It looks like we need to apply to the lottery each time we would like to buy a bag despite having an SA at FSH. Is it like this forever or just because it's only our first purchase?
Depends on the SA. I no longer apply to lottery, and I’ve been offered bags by appt, when I assumed I was only shopping for RTW. I suggest you ask these questions in person bc it seems more relaxed and organic. she will let you know

ETA: if your SA is a leather SA I assume she can offer bags to select clients. Mine is not a leather SA but has offered bags. Experiences seems to vary greatly.

Yes. Mine says to contact her ASAP, so I make my appt as soon as hotel, trip details, and other RTW appts are booked. Sometimes I make these appts months in advance.

last year I was told by FSH and CP, London that the history wasn’t coordinated between London and Paris. In fact a London SA told us that many of his clients buy at a FSH to get an additional QB. Some TPF posts suggest this is not the case, and things have changed. My local NY SA has no issue with my shopping twice a year in Paris, and my FSH SA of course knows I have a local relationship. I have received bag offers from both.

ETA: if there is an opinion posted on TPF that is contrary to that given by your SA, I would still go by your SAs answer to any of these questions

Hi all!
I had a question about my SA ordering items for me online if they are not in store. I was wondering if the store themselves receives the “sale”.

For example, I saw a blouse I loved. If it’s available in my size online and my SA orders it for me, does the credit still go to the store itself? I remember once when they didn’t have boots in my size, she ordered for me and shipped to my house. Does it make a difference if I pick it up “in store”?

I am trying to figure out what is best for my SA and best for my store in terms of my profile.

Thank you ahead of time.

I’m sure someone like @acrowcounted will know the answer to this. I did a search and came up with post 212 here:

It may say on your receipt which SA got the credit. But, all things being equal, your SA does want you to be happy and get the items you want, so actual dollar credit isn’t always the top consideration. Your SA will also tell you whether she is happy to do all your online orders or if she prefers you to grab items yourself as you see them.
