My husband and I have separate accounts. He has spent 3:1 all in fine jewelry and rtw since last may and he has not received any offers. My sa keeps saying it is about time he should get something but nothing appears lol. To be fair, I am asking for a very specific bag (etoupe kelly 25) so it may be hard to come by. But yeah, as @880 said, for the smaller sizes, you need to spend more than 1:1
Wow! I feel like SAs would kill for your husband’s account

Lol my husband is actually a big fan of the men’s rtw. He gets a lot of attention when he walks into the boutique. Also he tends to buy some bold pieces that they probably have trouble selling to most dudes. He can’t help it. He was probably a peacock in his last life.

Hi everyone,

I really appreciate everyone who responds here. So I have been shopping with my SA since late 2021. Like many I was offered a birkin with little spend (prior to that I had shopped at Hermes when I lived in Europe). I don’t live anywhere near a store (it’s a 6 hour drive and with 2 young kids it’s not an easy trip) so my SA has been generally great at ordering and sending me items with some imitative of my part to follow up. He has my wishlist and I have asked and reminded him of it. He has only told me stock is low which I understand. My spend in the last 6 months is about 1:1. I know that is not super high but I want to know if there is any hope to get an offer or should I just give up/slow down my spending since I’m a remote shopper and won’t be given priority? Is it okay to be direct and ask ‘is it bc I’m not coming in to the store’? I have bought across a few departments but there are a few areas I would still like to explore. While I always purchase what I want, there is no denying that they are partially motivated by the desire for another quota bag esp since the first one I was offered while I love and I’m so grateful to have is bright and I would love a neutral.

I guess I am feeling deflated and burnt out and wondering if I will get an offer anytime soon.

Thanks in advance for all your wise words and advice!

Hermes definitely favors in store shoppers but a lot depend on what it is you want and how many other people have the same bags. Everyone wants certain bags and they are hard to get but being true to your style and waiting for the right items is the best route. You will be fulfilled and your SA will have more comfort you aren’t a reseller.

I also believe some depends on loyalty over time and the categories you are buying. If your SA wants a long term career at H, there will be a lot of short term spenders, a lot of shoppers who buy in categories that resell well and are selling but loyal clients to the SA who buy things they truly love and are true to their style - - - even if spending less per year - for the long term are harder to find. Yes there is probably a minimum amount to spend but long term spend is better than short term. Wear your purchases when you can go in. It demonstrates you value them and keep them. This may not help your immediate needs but will be rewarded in the long term. Have you explained to your SA why you can’t come in as much? I am not able to come in very often now but I have explained why and my SA understands.

Yes my SA knows I cannot come in because I had a child a few months ago. He has been great at finding me items that are quite hard to get and I always express my appreciation but it is slightly disheartening that I haven’t been offered anything off my wishlist. My store is not a flagship so maybe stock is truly low? I will continue to shop buying only things I actually want but I guess I would like to be upfront on possible timeline/what is in my way. I’m sure my SA won’t outright tell me it’s bc you aren’t coming in but having a little clarity would be helpful.

The reason I feel like I am at a crossroad is that if I can confirm that no matter what my spend is if I am not coming in often enough I simply won’t be offered anything, I may slow down or space out my purchases and wait until I move closer to a boutique in a few years to re-establish a relationship that might yield a qb.

Thanks again to all those who provided insight.

I have a feeling our husbands would make good shopping buddies lol :) My DH is arguably more fond of bespoke and fashion RTW than I am, and is very particular about cut, fabric, and fit. He also cycles through and purges his closet faster and more often. Actually, he’s also a lot more picky about shoes and accessories too

Most second bag offers are taking in the 3:1 range these days so I think it has much more to do with your spend than your visits. Also, many people got zero offers last year and so they are being given priority over those who did get bags in 2022, so that could be slowing you down as well.

Lol we should have a shopping double date one day! Anyway my sa got back to me. Turns out we are going to the mtm event after all. We got a slot on Thursday. Yay! My husband can’t wait.

Ahh thanks for the info. My first offer was summer 2021 so hopefully my next is in the coming months.

I am looking to start my Hermes journey after many years of buying Chanel. I love to shop when I travel, both domestically and abroad and some may think that I am inpatient when it comes to being a consumer. If I would like to buy an item, I should be able to, right? All jokes aside here is where I am at.
$$ spend in Vegas 2019, $$$’s spend in Austin 2022 (close to 1:1 ratio in Austin)

History:
Vegas Bellagio. Nice trip, SA was nice, I would not say we had a real strong chemistry, but some was her personality. At] the end of my shopping trip, the SA provided me with her cell and told me to text when I was looking for something. I text a couple of times for items, on one occasion she told me she would order my item and would send me a link to pay, the link never arrived and other texts/requests went unanswered. I was not used to this type of service or some may say lack of, so I stopped texting.

Austin: The SA in Austin was really nice, but she knew I was from out of state and traveling on business, no contact information was exchanged.

Today:
I would like to establish a regular store and relationship with a SA for my desired items to ultimately be offered a quota bag. I am also planning a trip to Paris this Spring/Summer. What would you suggest for my future journey, back to Austin, Vegas or a new store? I am located in the SE and willing to have a store out of State for day trips if needed and I am in Vegas several times per year already.

Happy Hermes Shoppers: Where should I start my journey, what store has friendly SA’s for new shoppers?

Hi everyone, have a time sensitive question)))
I purchased a GP 36 online and have still few days before returning it – do you think I should return it and wait for my new SA to purchase it for me (to count as a store purchase and build a more current history of spending at H) as I am on a wishlist for Birkin ( I have a few quota bags from a few years ago but that was from another SA who no longer works at my local store)?

If you like the bag, keep it. Returning, even to the online store, is a negative mark on your profile. There is no guarantee that your SA will be able to get a replacement bag for you and bag purchases don’t help your profile that much anyway. Next time, however, go directly to your SA instead of shopping on the website.

Thanks so much for your reply - for some reason i had an impression that non quota bags also work for building spending profile at H. I would have gone through this SA but i had just met her a couple of weeks ago - after placing an order for GP.

They do help, but the same amount of money spent on literally anything else, helps more. Regardless, the return will ding your profile more than the purchase of a fresh bag would help it.
