LV QUALITY CONTROL --- WHAT IS GOING ON??

The last few post has been intriguing. So I thought I'd have a feel of the mono canvas of my preloved pochette acessoires that is over 20 years old compared to the mono canvas of 3 bags I have from this year and last year.
Honestly, unless there's something wrong with my touch and feel senses. I feel the canvas is thicker from my newer bags than my 20+year old canvas. Maybe because of the lining being different my bags have micro fibre lining Vs normal fabric lining on pochette accessories. But what I do notice is that the older canvas is rather more stiff and rigid maybe because of the coating on top of the canvas but definitely not thicker to me.

This has been said many times on the forum: Louis Vuitton uses multiple types of canvases that differ in pliability and thickness depending on the item it is intended for.
Oh dear me bad  your underlining means your peeved off I think . I shall shuffle along to the naughty corner. (Only kidding) your probably right as always :smartass:

Honestly, someone should make that their signature or create an image incorporating it that can be posted each time the thinner canvas discussions get started. It could be our own PurseForum meme.

[emoji106]. As a long time buyer and member here, I find the canvas and “is this normal threads” most of the time bizarre. I do not recall this paranoia when tpf first started.
I agree with you. I do believe it is a number of things as to why these particular threads pop up.
Expecting Perfection
TPF
YouTube
Buyers Remorse
Wanting Something Different (thus creating an issue to justify an exchange)
Unfamiliarity
Unrealistic Expectations

Not saying that some and I mean very few are legit issues because there are but those can be easily fixed without asking strangers opinions. Or hey if that unhappy stop purchasing right!

It is so sad that people can’t post their own opinions, observations and concerns on this sub-forum any longer.
What may be a small issue for some could be of great concern to others. Just because someone questions the quality of an item they shouldn’t be accused of having buyer’s remorse or not having enough money to afford a luxury item.

Many people have noticed the change in canvas, I can see how a more pliable canvas could be beneficial for some styles, but in other cases we’ve seen the same bag, like a Speedy have thinner canvas than before.
I have a Speedy B 30 from 2011 with beautiful canvas and hardware, I would love to sell it and replace it with a size 25, but the newer ones are not as nice to my eyes and touch, so I just keep the 30.
There’s also different batches of canvas, some have a darker hue and some have a more orangey tone, we’ve seen reports of mono canvas fading or peeling. These are not made up issues, it’s very real and people’s observations should not be minimized just because some regular posters have read many posts about the same thing.

I don’t see the moderators telling people to stop asking if something is “normal”, let people ask their questions or post their opinions without making fun of them. If the topic is repetitive or bothersome, just ignore it, or reply with something that puts the poster’s mind at peace.
Maybe a person spent months saving money to buy anyhing LV and they notice some imperfections, that would be upsetting, it’s so much nicer to say “it looks good to me, enjoy” instead of saying, “oh great, another is this normal? question, is this buyer’s remorse? can you afford this?” or how about “this issue is so minimal when there’s hunger and pain in the world”

This is tPF, we’re supposed to obsess over minor stuff like bags and wallets! It should be ok to ask silly questions or simply vent about our purchases!

Even more bothersome is when these rude and mocking answers are celebrated and parroted by others, put yourself in the OP’s shoes and have some compassion, please be nice and stop trying to moderate topics if you’re not even a moderator.

P.S. I think epi is thinner than it used to be too. *gasp*
Let’s see if I get mocked for posting my observations, it doesn’t matter to me :graucho:

Thanks for reading!

It seems like there are certain members who feel they are obligated to reply to posts that annoy them. Do they not have anything else to do with their time other than go out of their way just to vent and belittle someone's concerns behind a screen? Like seriously.

This is true, but at the same time it would be nice if the people with the repetitive questions would at least try to use the search function first to find their answers and if they can't find their answers, then post in the relevant thread instead of creating another.
