LV QUALITY CONTROL --- WHAT IS GOING ON??

I’ve heard from my SA that some clients will bring friends and family over for “free” champagne while they shop (and not buy). Same with coffee. Such a waste of time for the poor SA.

There are very tacky people out there lol.

Oh my goodness!! I won't even take an SA's time if I am browsing! I only ask for assistance if I am seriously in the market for something with intention to purchase. I may walk away empty handed if they don't have what I am interested in, but I won't waste anyone's time at LV or elsewhere to just look at things and drink.

Not that I've ever been offered champagne in my LV boutique, but that isn't why I am there.

LV bags still have a lot of manual work going in. Humans make mistakes.
That's non-sense in hopes of you overlooking their poor quality and non-existent quality control. They have outsourced the job of quality control to the customers. Quoting the news:
"The luxury goods brand Louis Vuitton misled the public by suggesting its expensive leather bags were hand-made, according to the advertising watchdog." Here's whole article.

When I didn't find the date code at first, they told me they just forgot to attach it in the factory and that's nothing serious. To cut a long story short, end result is they refused to exchange it within timeframe with a made-up excuse. If it wasn't serious, they would have taken the unused bag back within a hearbeat! Now I've an authentic bag which I can't re-sell because people think it's fake!!!

I'm only telling the 1% that cares
I do care

Yes it is. I bought it on Wednesday. Called CS on Friday morning, and hopefully I will take it to store today(saturday here)
I don't know why I didn't notice it at store.
I feel so stupid.

It's not on you. The excitement (and even the sometimes dim lighting) when shopping at LV can distract us from seeing small details. Pretty bad that it looked like that! Glad it will be resolved for you promptly.

Are they serious?!
That looks like a hook of a vintage LV piece!
Goodness!
I had to experience awful QC passed bags myself and thought I’m unlucky... but seems like there are just so many issues lately.. but THAT looks especially ridiculous!!!
They better exchange or repair that immediately for you!
Good luck!!!

That’s bad. Was it like that after you bought it and noticed at home or it tarnished after first or two uses?
Try polishing it with some toothpaste, if it doesn’t help take it to the store. Good luck!

Thank you for your kind words and advice:smile:
I was able to get a full refund.

Knowing her, she will most likely decline my gift if it's too expensive. Haha. We went to an LV store several times and she said theyre so expensive, and she loves the speedy b in leather (color purple). I just wanted to give her something so special. Anyway, ill just surprise her and we'll go to LV
The leather Empreinte Speedy B's are quite beautiful. Unfortunately, the purples are the old model and that style and color are no longer available in store.

I was a big advocate on LV quality until my recent experience with a Capucines purchase. I love the bag but couldn’t decide on colors and sizes, so I tried in many different ones and exchanged twice. [emoji28] But this also give me the opportunity to look at different bags in much detail.

Quality on the Capucines I saw varies from bag to bag. The first one I got was beautifully made, a true showcase of skillful craftsmanship. It is the LV I used to know. Then I went back to exchange a different color. To my surprise, all the Capucines they had in stock were so poorly made that they looked sad... My partner thinks one in particular, a B.B. in hot pink with snack skin handle, looks cheap because it was so out of shape. I went to another store and exchanged for one in red. Only to find out later that it has unaligned stitching, right besides where the LV logo hardware is (so pretty noticeable). I had to bring it back again and exchanged for another one, which is the one I ended up keeping.

Capucines is suppose to be LV’s top tier product line. I think LV let loose on quality control in order to keep up with the demand. So sad.

Having first hand experience and knowledge with commercial sewing equipment, I can attest that machines making mistakes is not as rare as you may think, regardless of programming.

Most manufacturing industries, scrap defective parts/materials ( similar to the auto and steel industry), realizing a tax benefit, so consumers don't (shouldn't) see the "mistakes". If the defect or irregularity does not inhibit reasonable use of the product, some manufacturers sell the items as "irregulars". Unfortunately, what many consumers are seeing with LV are the "mistakes".

I'm certain LV uses mass machine production. Otherwise the cost to produce a bag would be too high. If LV still uses any handcrafting in their production, it has to be very limited,

Oh gosh. This is really turning me away from purchasing LV products. I just got a damier graphite 6 key holder 2 months ago and it seems okay but now I'll keep an eye on the canvas.

Really wanted to purchase a geronimos and keepall 55...

I experienced this myself with my recent online purchase. Got Neverfull MM from the website and put it away because this is supposed to be a Christmas present to myself. Brought it out yesterday to admire (my hubby and son were not home) and saw this exposed stitching and tear canvas on stitching holes. Sooooo disappointed. Called LV and they could do only exchange but it’s out of stock online! The closet LV store is like 14 hours drive. Mailing it back today and will get a different bag instead. This is very upsetting.

The same thing happened to me. I also bought a neverfull mm with pivoine interior a couple weeks ago. The bag I got just like yours. Now, I think that the bags are from the same maker. I called them to make an exchange. But, this time I asked for the beige interior. I got the new one two weeks ago. New neverfull is better, but not perfect. I still can see some stitching holes on the corner, but cannot see thread. Since I am new to LV, I don't know it is normal or not.

How terrible! I hope you are able to find something to replace.

Mine is in Pivoine as well. When I called to exchange, all NF was out of stock online so I had to get something else. I have several LV bags and never seen this kind of poor craftsmanship before. The last bag I bought (before this NF) was back in 2008 though, probably better craftsmanship back then. Thanks for sharing your experience :-)

I can't decide if this is an error or just inadvertent oops from how it was stored, but I just realized my Koons Bunny charm has a dent. Now that I've noticed it it's sort of all I can see. All I being too fussy?15115371616160.jpg
