then maybe you could let her go buy it instead of you buying it. That's what I would prefer especially comes to an expensive handbag.

and I have seen people had to resell their bags at a great loss because the husbands bought the wrong kind of LV bags.

Knowing her, she will most likely decline my gift if it's too expensive. Haha. We went to an LV store several times and she said theyre so expensive, and she loves the speedy b in leather (color purple). I just wanted to give her something so special. Anyway, ill just surprise her and we'll go to LV

I see. That bag is double the price than the canvas version and does not hold the value as well as canvas version, when comes to resell it, lose 50% of the value if not more.

But, I understand. Good luck and do more research if you may and I'm sure your wife will appreciate the thoughtfulness of yours. :-)

Many don't care about whether or not a bag holds its value on the preloved market.

I’m just afraid that it will just end up getting worse as I use the bag over time. Should I return and exchange for a different one?

This is normal. There is the junction of two pieces underneath the coating. Even if you get a new one, it will do the same thing eventually.

I got Siena PM two days ago, but have to return it:sad:
One hook on shoulder strap is badly tarnished.
I am little nervous, I never return or exchange something before.
I hope everything goes well.

Are they serious?!
That looks like a hook of a vintage LV piece!
Goodness!
I had to experience awful QC passed bags myself and thought I’m unlucky... but seems like there are just so many issues lately.. but THAT looks especially ridiculous!!!
They better exchange or repair that immediately for you!
Good luck!!!

Well... as disappointed and sometimes furious I am myself about all these QC issues aka lack of QC it seems...
I do understand.
They need and want to sell as much as possible! They can only care that much for each item.. it’s not 1900 where they probably sold a few pieces to very wealthy customers a week. :( Of course “but you pay so much money”. But cars or even houses costs a lot too and they have all sorts of issues. That’s just life I guess.
But here’s my two cents... bought a PM empreinte recently and didn’t even wear it once! Firstly because I didn’t want them to give a reason to reject me, secondly because of the first point and me bringing it in ASAP to get it fixed. Now I have to wait 6-8 weeks (in handbag addict time: 1000 years!!! ) for it to return...

FYI: the female part of the lock isn’t perfectly alligned in this photo, so it might irritate you. But that’s the best photo I got.

Before I started buying luxury bags I bought Kors, Fossil, lesportsac, etc...Nothing has cracked, or peeled or fallen apart. They're just collecting dust, sitting empty, no stuffing no dust covers. They look the same as when I first bought them. They're crappy bags but kind of indestructible. So why is it LV bags that cost well over a grand are falling apart and not made that well to begin with? I think they're getting away with making their bags as cheaply as possible to maximize profits. Until we stop buying and demanding better nothing will change.

That’s exactly the difference.
The mentioned brands are doing mass production. Incorporating as many machines as possible in the process. Machines rarely make mistakes. They’re exactly programmed.
LV bags still have a lot of manual work going in. Humans make mistakes.
I think the issues isn’t the way the bags are made, but the quantity we demand.
Imagine whole punching 1000 papers with a whole punch. 1000 times perfect papers.
Imagine having to cut out the wholes with tiny sciccors yourself. A lot of effort and a lot of possible mistakes.

What I am mad about is not that mistakes happen, but that LV doesn’t seem to care anymore.
They send out obvious default items and worse: accept obviously used items and resell them online and in stores!!!

Do I make sense?
It’s a difference of making mistakes and not caring about mistakes... is what I’m trying to say. :)

That’s bad. Was it like that after you bought it and noticed at home or it tarnished after first or two uses?
Try polishing it with some toothpaste, if it doesn’t help take it to the store. Good luck!
