From what I know there is only one place that does all the Chanel repairs in the US and that is in NY. So if the OP had her bag changed, it would have gone there, it's the only place. Therefore, I would push for those of you that have a close relationship with an SA to send an email instead of just giving you a "no" because sometimes policies change and they do not know about it. It could also be a relatively recent change and I imagine people don't really inquire often.

I had a similar experience with sealing light colored lambskin. I was told it could not be done a hundred times over until one of my SA's emailed and they told her they would do it! Now all my light colored lambskins are sealed, by Chanel!

Hope that helps!

Which boutique can i give it to in NY? 57th street?

I want black hardware put on my black jumbo:nuts:
Maybe if someone has a good relationship with SA they will give another answer (YES) compared to some people just cold calling to boutiques and inquiring. I am going to check with a very trusted SA and see if she has any insight.......
Yes, I really want black hardware on my black jumbo also!! Please let me know what they tell you! I live in Los angeles.

OP im so sorry about some of the negative comments :( i think its generous of you to share with us! though i understand the disappointment some may feel knowing you wont disclose the boutiques location, discretion and respect is really important on the web!!

gonna try this with my SA, whose been my family's SA for 7+ years. though she might just send my bag to paris.

interesting!!!

Thanks. :flowers:. Good luck with your SA...I really do think that it is something new that they are doing and once SA's check with repair...hopefully they will find out that it can be done. I really am surprised how perfect the switch looks....like it has always been that way.

just one question did you send it in to get it replaced bc you had some sort of problem with the original SHW or were you just inquiring about the possibility of such a replacement?

sorry if you've mentioned this before!

No problem with the silver...just wanted gold. I originally brought it in for a loose stitch to be repaired. I asked about hardware change then and they said no...but a few weeks later I was there and they remembered that I had asked about hardware change. They said that they had just received an e:mail that they could now do it. So off it went. And back it came with beautiful GHW.

Yep... I have passed up on many opportunities on brown flap cause they were in silver. BROWN is for GHW :woot:

Yeah :smile1:... there was a brown caviar medium with gold h/w a few seasons back, but I couldn't swallow the price tag knowing I already had the medium with silver h/w (and also a jumbo which I actually use a lot)! I don't really buy flaps/reissues anymore and no longer have a boutique SA I regularly work with, so if this h/w switch is possible, I'm going to have to sweet talk someone, haha. :p

Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece of information with us!:flowers: It's too bad that Chanel repairs don't always provide a consistent response. It's nice to know that it's available though. thanks for sharing too oniomaniac, I've been told no before about sealing but I'm going to revisit the issue again.:flowers:

okay, this is totally off topic but I am having a hard time coordinating my brown ghw flap with my outfits. What colors do you wear your brown flap with?:smile1:
