Just curious... do you buy jewelry for yourself?

Definitely, sometimes my fiancé just doesn't know what i like and i have to nag him because of our different tastes. But when you buy it yourself, I feel there is a sense of pride in that because you worked hard for this and you don't have to answer to anyone as it may not be their cup of tea.

Yes. I bought a few nice pieces for myself when I was single, and I still buy my own since DH isn't sure how to pick things to my taste. Besides, he'd rather plan nice dinners or vacations, so we both win.

I have no problem buying jewelry for myself. However, since my money is hubby's money and vice versa, when there is something I want, I make it "his" idea lol. It's coming out of the same pocket regardless, and he feels great buying me some thing I love, I get what I want-- it's a WIN WIN!

We're the same. Dh tried to pick out jewelries in the past but after a few years, we decided that it's better if I just choose them myself. This system works well for over 20 yrs. We don't separate our finances other than our pet investment projects.

I buy a lot for myself but most the time I buy it and have someone wrap it and give it to me so I can say that it was given to me [emoji23][emoji23]

Only time I buy for myself indefinitely is when I travel because I like to get a piece from every place I visit.

Of course! I cannot expect my SO to buy me everything, LOL. It's good to have healthy goals and save up for things in life yourself, as well, I think. I think it's kind of old fashioned to expect that like you cannot buy jewelry yourself, someone else must buy it for you 100% of the time. Especially if you happen to be a single girl, what are you gonna just wait for a man to come along if you want to buy yourself a fashion ring? I actually know a lot of people, that believe that, usually older people.

That or you're stuck with your family's taste for you. I appreciate heirlooms; I appreciate gifts, but sometimes I like to buy pieces on my own. It's just like anything else to me. See, want, buy.

I'm old but not stuck on any given assumption of who buys what. DH has great taste in jewelry & buys for me often. He usually gives me jewelry as gifts for special occasions. I also buy myself jewelry if there's something I particularly want or I find something that goes well with what I already have & don't want it to get away. I just love jewelry. I have jewelry I inherited, gifted, & bought myself.
