Just curious... do you buy jewelry for yourself?

I buy my own jewelry. DH is generous and always wants to contribute to the pieces I select, which I love! But he doesn't like to select things on his own. It works for us.

I just bought my own Mothers Day gifts bc I was too busy before MD to tell DH what I wanted. It's a shared credit card, so it really doesn't matter. But I do use my personal bank account for splurge pieces I want to treat myself to and that aren't for an "occasion" that he would purchase a gift for me.

I've bought my own jewellery since I was a teenager saving up my pocket money, and that was many decades ago now. By the time I met DH a few years later I had bags and boxes of the stuff, mostly costume jewellery but I love all sorts. Jewellery has never been a dynamic between us, I buy wear and sell exactly what I want and he doesn't care, which is great. He gives me books.

My kids on the other hand are fearless and buy me all sorts of cheap stuff from their travels, I treasure it and wear it all the time too.

I like to take an active part in the research/selection so I buy myself. I'd rather some give me a gift card and then I select what I like. But if I had a hubby- I wouldn't mind getting a nice blue or red box once in a while ;)

absolutely, i buy jewelry for myself. my husband buys me pieces that i pick out around occasions (birthday, anniversary, etc ...) and during the rest of the year i buy for myself what i want.
