OMG, wow!!! That ring is STUNNING!!! What a great husband, that is awesome that you were able to open it before xmas. I would not have been able to wait either! Congrats Swanky. It is just gorgeous!

Oh and I also think that it is a bit high. Maybe have them make the prongs thinner and shorter. I had that done with my diamond earrings and they came out beautifully. The prongs were cut and my diamonds were set down a bit futher into the setting.

I agree with you about the prongs being a little heavier than I would like too, but then again, with that big stone, you'd want prongs that would be sturdy and not break off easily. So I would just leave the prongs the way they are.

^^ I agree. It seems that w/ the size of the stones, the thicker and higher prongs are probably necessary. I guess you could take the height down, but the thickness is probably good to stay in place for security.

Congrats, Swanky! It is GORGEOUS! Also, you have really pretty hands. I love your nails. :heart: On a related note, my bf and I have been together for 5 1/2 years now, and he's been discussing getting married and "feeling me out" (he knows it's not something I'm really set on doing) so maybe I'll get something under the tree too... (and I probably just jinxed myself by letting this out! LOL)
